Agrath sat at the head chair with 12 senior elders of the cult sitting across the table. The arrangement reflected hierarchy clearly, with Agrath elevated both physically and symbolically above the rest, forcing every elder to face him directly. The long table between them acted as both a place of discussion and a silent divider of authority.

“Celera, a phoenix agent of our cult, was killed by Damian Cross, the commander of the Abyssal extermination division, recently in the headquarters of the celestial army. Astra Ashfall, her lover, arrived here a few hours ago, demanding we help him take revenge against Damian.”

Agrath (amorphous) spoke, mimicking the restful voice of original Agrath. A lit cigar rested in between his two fingers, and he sat on his throne in the most relaxed position he could take.

“What do you guys think?” Agrath asked, looking at them straight in the eyes with a sharpness.

The elders looked at each other, and murmurs started between several of them. Their hesitant behavior revealed a lack of unity, as no one wanted to take a stance that might later be used against them.

“How much more time??” Agrath asked Grimlock in his mind.

“Ten minutes more…” Grimlock assured Amourohous from the domain of infinity. Behind him, almost more than 250 slaves stood looking around the realm in awe, where they had just arrived.

Many of them were still trying to comprehend the sudden shift in environment, unaware that their relocation was part of a much larger plan unfolding simultaneously.

Meanwhile, the elders had no clue that such a huge portion of cultists had disappeared from the main base. Yet several thousand more cultists worked cluelessly around the base; soon they would realize the absence of so many people, and Agrath wanted the lord to arrive and commence the plan before that.

The elder cultists around the table finally spoke one by one.

“Why should we help that chicken? He is just a prisoner now; his words don’t have much weight.

We should just focus on reviving our operation in the southern Aris and take revenge on the Academy by killing their students. ” A male bestkin spoke, looking at Agrath while a handful of elders nodded in agreement as if they were backing him.

His argument leaned on practicality, avoiding unnecessary entanglements.

Agrath’s eyes glinted as he noticed a spark of competition between these men; soon, another elder interjected, “I disagree. Astra can be a great asset to our cult.

He has royal blood in him and is highborn; he has many loyalists in the empire. If he helps us, we can have a strong foothold in the Ashfall Empire, something only the largest demonic cults can do. We would rise in power and ranks as well.”

As the human spoke, several other elders nodded while backing his agreement; suddenly, a clash of opinions started on the table, making Agrath (Amorphous) laugh in his mind.

He did not have to do anything to keep them engaged; they were already divided and distracted.

The division served his purpose perfectly, keeping their attention inward rather than on him.

As Agrath was enjoying the debate, a certain elder who was sitting just to his right dragged his seat closer to him.

Agrath looked at him and got disgusted, looking at the face; it was a rat-kin, a race Amorphus had never seen, one of the rarest races on the continent, considered lower in birth and exploited in the Babylonian empire.

Despite the prejudice attached to his race, the elder’s presence here suggested a capability that outweighed social standing.

“Who is this rat??” Amouropohous asked as he looked at the elder with disgust; he was a demon; he had his preferences.

Grimlock furrowed his brows for a moment, but then a certain face appeared in his memory. Unlike amorous Grimlock, he wasn’t disgusted at all. “Oh, it must be Wanix.”

Amorphis looked at the rat elder coming closer inch by inch before he leaned in, and in a seriously low tone, he said, “My lord, may I suggest something?”

The pitch of his voice was so high that even his low tone seemed like a knife stabbing the ears.

It made the interaction uncomfortable, yet impossible to ignore.

Agrath unconvincingly leaned forward to hear what this guy was cooking. His interest was minimal, but curiosity kept him engaged.

With a muffled tone, Wanix spoke.

“My lord, why don’t we dangle the promise of revenge to this Astra while he helps us establish our roots in the Ashfall Empire? We will throw him away when he gets useless.

We can even kill him by planning revenge on Damian, where he will be the main face of it. We can then just sabotage his mission at the last moment and leave him in the hands of the enemies. He can’t speak up about collusion with us anyway.”

Amorphous looked at the rat, flabbergasted by his scheming mind. A few moments of serious staring ended with a light chuckle on his face.

The ruthlessness of the idea aligned perfectly with the environment of the cult.

Amourohous raised his hands and pinched a dark fold of rodent skin on Wanix’s cheeks. “Hehehee, I like you, Wanix; you are the one coming with me today,” he said lightly.

“Huh?? My lord, where are we going??” Wanix asked confusedly, not knowing what Agrath was talking about.

“Shh,” Agrath shushed him with a smirk. “Just wait, you will thank me later,” he said.

The reassurance was vague but confident enough to silence further questions.

“How much time is left now?” he asked grimly in his mind.

“1 Minute”

Grimlock’s answer made Amorphous laugh out loud. All the elders stopped arguing with each other and looked at Agrath, laughing madly. The sudden shift in behavior broke the flow of discussion entirely.

“My lord!! What happened?” everyone asked.

Wanix, meanwhile, smiled, thinking he had managed to impress the cult leader. The misunderstanding worked in Amorphous’s favor, masking his true reason for amusement.

Agrath clenched his stomach and controlled his laughter. “Hahaha, you guys are so screwed,” he said. The statement carried a strange certainty that none of them could yet comprehend.

Everyone remained clueless about what the cult leader was talking about.

Suddenly, the door slammed open, and a junior elder barged inside. The urgency of his entry immediately disrupted the environment of the room.

The leaders got alarmed. “What are you doing!!!”

A senior elder stood up and shouted, looking at the behavior of his junior.

The junior immediately knelt while his head slammed the ground. “My lord, there is an emergency!!”

His panic was evident not just in his words but in the force of his movement.

“What??” Every elder stood up from their seats while their shocked gazes were fixed on the kneeling figure.

“My lords, almost 200 of our men have gone missing; Grimlock has gone missing as well!!”

“The rest of the members have gone mad; they are in heat and touching themselves in weird ways, and I also heard a massive sonic boom in the sky.”

The report came out fragmented, reflecting the chaos spreading across the base.

“You bastard, speak clearly!!” An elder shouted towards him, listening to the bullshit this guy was spouting. What did he mean by saying that the men were touching themselves?

Denial was mixed with anger as they struggled to process the information.

Panic erupted among the elders, and that was until they heard a clap. The single sound cut through the noise of the room.

Their heads turned towards the seat of the cult leader, and their eyes widened. What they saw was not the figure of Agrath; instead, a phoenix sat on that seat. The transformation shattered their expectations completely.

“Astra, you bastard!! Where is the cult leader??” Elders shouted in rage as they saw him laughing at them; a bad premonition rose in their hearts. The realization came too late to react properly.

“I killed him,” Astra replied. “You guys thought my Celera would die a meaningless death!!” Astra (amorphous who had taken the form of Astra ashfall) shouted.

Before the Elders could say something.

“Now face my wrath and die!!” Astra declared, and his fingers clicked.

Booooooooooommmm!!

A massive explosion wrecked the no man’s land, shaking the foundations of the massive Clayman cult’s headquarters.
