Sierra was facing a basilisk.

As blades of ice blew around it, Sierra stopped her rapier at it repeatedly, but none of the blows seemed to land. In her mind she couldnt help remembering how Masamune had killed one in an instant. The more she missed the more she thought about it and the more frantic her attacks became, it was a vicious cycle.

Hey! Youre a white knight right? What can I do?

Cedric called out to her.

I can tell just by looking at your magic, youre a higher level than me right? Even I can defeat a basilisk.

Sierra said nothing and continued swinging her rapier at the basilisk.

Yogi snuck around the basilisk and jumped on its back while Cedric trapped the tail.

While the movement appeared to have become more wild it was slower, and Sierra didnt miss. She plunged her rapier directly into the monsters eye.

At Sierras signal the other to jumped clear of the basilisk.

Freezing wind blade!

A blade of ice ripped through the inside of the basilisk freezing it solid.

Nice one lady! Lets keep this up!

Yogi seemed like he was getting caught up in the moment.

Dont get distracted.

Dont worry, I dont have the guts it would take to be careless.

Sierra seemed to regain her confidence and the next time Cedric and Yogi held a basilisk down she swung her blade as thought her anxiety earlier had been a lie.

The battle raged on everywhere, with adventurers slowly reducing the number of monsters. One cut the head off of a danger rabbit, a monster that looked like a horned rabbit. While another fought a poison fly, on the other hand Sierras party now faced a Bison Soldier. A large bipedal Bison with an axe, an A rank monster that might have reminded Masamune of a minotaur.

Lets do it, a Bison soldier is powerful but its slow. The three of us should be able to do it.

OK, Ill keep it still, them you stab it.

Sierra coated her sword in ice as Cedric circled around and wrapped his arms around its waist.

Do it now, quick!

But before Sierra could attack the monster swung its axe around behind it.

Lookout!

The axe grazed Cedrics shoulder, he managed to avoid a fatal injury but he was now smeared in blood and his clothes were ripped.

Fall back, Ill take care of it!

Yogi supported Cedric as Sierra faced the Bison soldier one on one. When it attacked Cedric its own axe had become imbedded in its waist, but it pulled it out now as if nothing was wrong.

How can it withstand that?

The axe went in deep, it would normally be a debilitating wound, but it swung its axe towards Sierra as if it felt no pain. Sierra deflected the axe calmly dispelling her doubts, each time a metallic clang rang out more and more of the axe was covered in ice. Until eventually the arms movement was halted creating an opening for Sierra.

Its over.

She pierced forward coating the Bison soldier in ice.

As expected.

Yogi praised her, as well as many of the adventurers around them. Including Cedric who was drinking a healing potion.

Lady lookout!

Sierra had been distracted by the cheers, she turned around in time for a wyverns tail to smash into her. The blow sent her rolling along the ground until she eventually came to a stop on her back, her consciousness fading as she looked at the sky.

Haaa..haaaaa.haaa.pathetic.

As she laid there she heard her name being called.

Sierra, if you sleep in a place like this, youll catch a cold.

How dare you hurt Sierra! I wont allow it!

The voices were familiar and she pulled herself up to look.

Why, are you here?

Toa and Nem had arrived on the battlefield.
