Just as the doors closed, the lights began flickering. Lana looked up and sighed. “The ghost really can’t give me a moment of fun.”

Mr. Crow asked warily, “Did you see something?”

Lana stared around the elevator, which was practically oozing with black clouds, and muttered, “There’s a lot of evil qi here.”

Mr. Crow narrowed his eyes. “What are you planning to do?”

Lana remained silent for a moment before saying,

“Nothing. I need to preserve my energy for whatever is ahead. What if I encounter a thirty-year-old ghost later? If I waste my mystic energy here, I’ll be helpless afterward.”

Mr. Crow shook his head. “And what if a ghost shows up now?”

Lana immediately glared at him. “If you dare to jinx it, I’ll…”

Before she could finish, a head suddenly appeared right in front of her.

Lana nearly screamed as she stumbled back, patting her chest rapidly.

An upside-down girl hung from the elevator ceiling, her long hair falling straight down like dripping water. Her eyes were wide, her pupils tiny dots swallowed by enlarged sclera the size of ping-pong balls.

Her lips were curved into an eerie, stitched-like smile as she stared at Lana from side to side.

Lana took deep breaths, muttering, “It’s fine… I can deal with it…”
