Chapter 11: A Magical Artifact!

Eren and Emily slept in separate beds at night.

No matter how hard Eren insisted, he couldn’t get Emily to sleep in her own bed. The stubborn Elf argued that Eren wasn’t fully healed yet and refused to let him take the bed on the floor.

At some point in the night, they both looked at each other, thinking the other was asleep. After a few seconds of staring and smiling, they both fell asleep.

It was normal for Emily to act so childishly. After all, she didn’t live in a socially advanced, cosmopolitan city like Eren. But Eren had all the complex culture of the modern Earth. But even he was forgetting the life he’d left behind and taking too much pleasure in simple things.

It was absurd for someone like him to act like a teenager in love. Getting close to a beautiful elf woman that he could never get close to on Earth made him positive towards this universe.

I live alone in an Elven village with a very beautiful Elf. I can’t think of anything cooler than this.

When he fell asleep, he had no plans for tomorrow.

He didn’t know whether he would return to Earth. He hadn’t even tried whether his skill worked or not. That skill that opens the way back to Earth was probably his only chance but, he didn’t really care.

For the first time in his life, he was experiencing the moment and accepting this simpler village life.

In his dream, he saw himself fighting against dragons in the skies of Earth.

Morning came fast.

With the same routine, Emily and Eren went to the forest before breakfast. While Eren was waiting in the area where the Level 1 Slimes were, Emily went to check the south and north sides of the village.

“Today is the time for revenge.”

Eren started humming a song he loved to listen to back on Earth.

“All the things she said…ALL THE THINGS SHE SAID….YEAHHHH…” His voice horrified half of the harmless animal population.

I am filled with adrenaline without a sip of coffee. This must be the magic of this world.

He would have looked like a morning runner if he didn’t carry a knife in his hand and wasn’t wearing the Elven clothes.

Eren was very energetic, with a happy smile on his face and the lyrics coming out of his mouth.

From what he understood, these Slimes were really slime. But a tougher slime than the ones pictured in video games of his world. Liquid body structures were a reality. But their bodies were closer to solid than liquid.

Moreover, as their level increased, their bodies became tighter and stronger. For example, he could kill Level 1 Slimes even with a little poke with his knife.

But he had to stab the Level 2 Slimes really hard.

It was impossible to kill Level 3 Slimes without stabbing them at least a couple of times.

He noticed that the exp given by Level 1 Slimes now filled the exp bar very little. He was now looking for Level 2 Slimes rather than Level 1 ones.

A dangerous thought even popped up in his head every now and then.

He considered quitting messing with Level 1 Slimes and going into the deep woods. Like the portal area.

But when he looked at the scars on his hand, he changed his mind.

There will come a time when I will stop acting cowardly. I hope…

After watching the exp bar move like a snail for a long time, he finally heard the sound he had been waiting for.

Eren hadn’t tested his body since he quickly reached Level 5 yesterday. Now he was already Level 6. Curiously, he raised his right hand. Then he punched with all his might.

Then he pulled himself up with all his might.

Surprisingly, everything was so easy when he tried to pull himself up now. In fact, he didn’t stop and lifted himself more. Suddenly, he found himself at a height where he could sit on the branch.

Seeing his body like this, Eren couldn’t help but feel better.

After jumping down, he ran for a while and was sure that he was indeed faster than before. A lot faster actually.

His Agility stat didn’t directly make him faster though. But Agility was making him use his body better, improving his reaction time and a whole lot of things he didn’t know yet.

In other words, as long as Eren developed Strength and Agility stats at the same time, he would improve his body in terms of both hardware and software. These two stats were very important to become more durable, stronger, and much faster in hunting monsters.

He thought for a while about how to test his Intelligence or Charisma stats but still couldn’t think of anything.

How can a person test himself if he is more intelligent… How can I measure my own charisma?

What a dilemma.

If I was on Earth, I could solve an IQ test from a random website.

He continued to wander through the trees and hunt slowly.

For an hour, he didn’t leave the outermost part of the forest.

Every now and then, he found Level 1 and Level 2 Slimes, and he killed them.

Eren had a relaxed expression on his face and random songs coming out of his mouth all the time.

Just when he felt that the time had come for Emily to finish her morning work, he lowered the knife in his hand and decided to walk towards the village. But Eren saw a glow in the area where he last killed the Slimes.

“What is this? No way!”

Could it be a drop?

He didn’t want to raise his expectations until he saw proof.

He had killed this Level 2 Slime a minute ago. And then he hadn’t paid attention to the dead corpse, which had liquefied and was like a puddle on the ground. But there was something there now.

Eren walked over to it and bent down to pick up the object.

Please be something good. Artifact, weapon, magical wand or maybe like agility boots…

His heartbeat was too loud. He heard the sweet system voice in his head. The fact that he was so happy to hear that voice made him a little uncomfortable.

While Eren was happily jumping in place, he didn’t neglect to wear the ring immediately. As soon as he put it on, a strange feeling of tension and control took over his body.

All 10 Agility that the average person should have, had been added to his body. It was unbelievably absurd to him.

He opened his mouth curiously.

“Profile.”

He smiled again as he looked at his Stat panel and his doubled Agility. He had laughed so much these last few days that he didn’t think he’d laughed that much in a few months back on Earth.

Although Eren was happy to increase his Agility, he focused on Fire Resistance and noticed that this part was written at the bottom, outside of the entire stat screen.

Curiously, he clicked on the part that said Fire Resistance.

As expected, he couldn’t use Evon Points in this part.

So we can’t increase this kind of elemental things with points.

If it were possible, someone of high levels would be able to use hundreds of points into Fire Resistance and swim in the lava. Makes sense.

He was very excited to see Emily and showed her the ring he found.

Eren felt like a kid taking home a school report filled with high grades.
