“Good.” He finally looked up at her face. Rabbu-i’s bright green eyes had that glazed look he recognized from the hunting trip weeks ago but ten times worse. Her lips were parted and her chest was rising fast. She uncrossed her legs under the table and immediately crossed them again in the other direction, pressing her thighs together tight enough that the muscles in her exposed legs flexed. Her left hand dropped under the table and tugged the edge of her leaf-skirt lower between her legs.

“You should hurry up and give them what they want so the rest of us can have our turn already!” She practically rushed him to go away to not see her aroused body’s full capabilities if things go any further. “Emily isn’t here right now. And I will do it for not a stupid baby but to be with you!” Rabbu-i leaned back in her chair and let her knees fall slightly apart under the table. Whatever Selena had cooked today was already done and the only thing left was the lingering smell of roasted meat and baked pastry dough hanging in the warm air. Eren crossed through the narrow back hallway and pushed open the wooden door that connected the restaurant to Selena’s private house behind it.

The alluring and homely smell hit him first and made his shoulders drop. Roasted Yaksha with herbs he couldn’t name, sweet pastry with honey glaze and something deeper underneath it all. A warm spiced scent that reminded him of cinnamon but wasn’t cinnamon. Probably some magical elven plant he hadn’t learned the name of yet.

Then his eyes adjusted to the light and his heartbeat went insane.
