Chapter 57: You are dead…

After two hours of s*x and playful teasing, they forced themselves to finish their patrol of the village boundaries. With the safety of the perimeter confirmed, they shifted their focus toward Eren’s combat training and the refinement of his explosive new stats.

He needed some real combat, but for now Emily tried to fill the blank spots for his lacking techniques.

Instincts could carry him to a high level, but in a real fight even a simple feint could be fatal if it was something he had never experienced before. And after talking with baby wolves for a week now, he knew how smart beasts could be. Magic or mana made the animal and monster populations extremely tricky.

After a few demonstration, which some of them happened when they were still naked and sweaty from earlier hours, they put on some cloths and started testing him again.

The real comparison between fighting progress came when they started sparring like a duel.

He was way better than Emily expected him to be!

Emily didn’t hold back with him after hearing how his perception also got a boost from race evolution. According to her, no one really gave that much stats to side stats like him. Endurance was still useful but after a certain bar, perception lost its usefulness for most low level beings.

But she knew her mother had high perception before she died, also remembered what that really meant. She was insane with her perception of space, reaction time or thinking abilities.

So Emily tried to use footwork patterns he couldn’t read from weird angles or some moves he didn’t understand.

She feinted low and struck high with a speed that came from muscle memory so deep it was basically instinct. Maybe that’s why she looked faster than Eren most of the time. This beautiful hunter moving like a yellow blur when she was serious.

He was spending some time to think before moving, but she damned all thinking and her moves bested him most of the earlier duels.

Eren had the raw power to end the spar in one hit but he couldn’t or wouldn’t land that hit on his pregnant wife. So, Emily slipped every grab, redirected every swing and used his own momentum against him like she was dancing with him instead of fighting.

It was so cool when these happened under the moonlight.

When she activated Wind Barrier for half a second, it pushed him back three steps and created an opening she immediately exploited. Her palm tagged his chest exactly where his heart was.

“Dead.” she said. “I mean you would be dead If I could get past your skin but we use weapon for that.”

“Is that the only artifact weapon in the whole village?” Eren wasn’t jealous or anything about her weapon. But using weapons and even a bow became meaningless with his body. They tested the scimitars and how he did with bow after stat changes. And he almost broke the bow or couldn’t use the scimitars to test his weapon limits.

Holding chopsticks or candy to fight others, he felt that with weapons now. It was meaningless and weird.

“This katana was left behind by my ancestors from hundreds of years ago. My mother left it to me.”

Eren asked with the topic at hand. ” How do you know all that? Are there books or some records..”

“No silly. I know your world have books or some other things to remember everything but things here are different. People actually memorize the history, names, customs or actually everything. And I mean it with “everything”. Some old folks still can count the whole thousands of names from five generation before…”

It was impressive but also meant this world could use some Earthen technology. All the information was in their heads and if he could collect them and combine it…he really needed that damn portal!

“All elf bloodlines used to come from a single line by the way. My mother used to call the first generation as -High Elves. Below them were branched-bloodlines that split based on different elements or habitats. I’m not sure of them but I heard something like Dark Elf.”

“Dark Elves definitely exist if even my world have some stories about them.” Eren commented about that but didn’t have proof.

Emily also shrugged. “Below dark elves or other branches, there were different kingdoms. But at some point nobody can pin down exactly, everything started to fall apart.

My mother always said time was the cruelest enemy. She was probably talking about herself, heartless bitch… But you get my point.” She wasn’t actually that angry about her mother after learning high stat effects on hormones or instincts. But she liked to curse her mother apparently.

She had a cute evil smile on top of that.

It was awesome seeing a cursing elf. Beautiful and cursing was the best combo in Eren’s book.

“Even in the oldest storage rooms in the village, there’s nothing but many short blades like the one I gave you. And that was one of the best ones. The rest are spread out among the villagers. Anyone who needs something just goes and takes it from storage.”

Eren got the point but he was also clueless. “It is cool to learn about Elven tradition or history dear but I need durable weapons. Perhaps a heavy hammer and a sturdy bow artifact.”

“You would look bad with a normal hammer. A giant great sword, now that’s cool.” She said with a judgmental look.

“I would pull off giant hammers…” He whispered but was completely ignored by his elf mate.

Eren didn’t comment about that anymore.

He had his own ideas about this village or the future. Maybe when he collected enough mana stone or find a skill to mana recharge to open portals, he could get some weapons from Earth side.

Weapons from Earth would shock the magical beasts! Just the imagination of many possible scenarios was wild.

After a small kissing session in between, they dueled again. This time they tried pure speed for unexpected close combat situations. And Eren didn’t hold back after learning most of her tricks earlier.

He crossed the gap between them so fast that Emily’s eyes widened. Her hand went for the small knife he was holding but her hand was too slow. His fingers from free hand caught her wrist and stopped her move.

Emily looked at his hand around her wrist. Then up at his face.

“You are dead…” Eren said quietly. He hoped to look cool but it was a bit too much for the excited elf. He made her heart beat insanely fast.

Something complicated happened behind her eyes. Pride and frustration and something else he couldn’t name.

“Again.” she said it fast.

They went six more times. Eren won four. Emily won two. But Emily’s two wins were both through technique and experience. She read his patterns and punished mistakes he didn’t know he was making yet.

The four Eren won were all raw stats. Pure speed or pure strength overriding everything she could do.

Emily sat on a fallen log and drank water from a leather pouch. She was breathing hard. Eren wasn’t.

“You need to protect me now.” Emily said it without looking at him.

“I don’t think-”

“I’m pregnant, more emotional than before and almost always horny..”

The last part was too sudden.

“Oh no…”

“Oh, yes mister. Come here and get naked…”

Eren resisted with his mouth but he was grinning inside.

It was too much fun finally doing whatever you want. There was no one to stop, judge or even threaten them. He could be naked and be with an elven women in a magical forest and nobody could say anything.

“Hey! Wake up and kiss me. I demand attention and kisses all over here….”

He found himself repeating the same sentence for the umpteenth time.
