Chapter 65: Wind Slash Evolves

When Eren made it back inside the village the scene was better than he expected.

The small group of villagers had gathered in the center near the Totem and the eastern trolls were still outside the perimeter. He could handle this.

He jumped with everything his legs could give and launched himself over the heads of the defending elves straight into the kobold formation. A two-meter blur flying through the air at chest height and crashing into a packed group of armed enemies turned the whole area into chaos in about one second.

Eren swung the scimitars for the first time against something his own size and the first kobold split in half from shoulder to hip. He tried to be careful with the crossbow the next one was holding because he wanted it intact but his body pushed him to keep attacking without slowing down.

He killed three kobolds in a few seconds and kicked a two-meter troll in the head hard enough to hear something crack. By that point every enemy in the eastern gap was focused entirely on him.

“Leave these to me and get out of here. You all did your part!” He didn’t turn his head but he knew the rookie group was standing behind him. They’d been holding this line for way too long already.

“You too! If anyone argues your hunting career ends today.” He wasn’t sure how effective the threat was but when even Mel left without much protest and headed toward the central shelters, Eren let out a long breath.

Show time.

He swung both scimitars at full power and started clearing the kobolds first. One jump sent him several meters into the air and he landed on one of the kobold riders while slashing his blade sideways like a broom.

Double kill!

The scimitar caught a kobold’s head first and then came down on the dinosaur mount’s neck on the follow-through. The fact that he instantly killed a creature covered in armor-like scales told him he was using way too much force.

He relaxed his muscles a bit and jumped again, this time using both blades to hunt kobolds with less power behind each swing.

In under a minute almost every kobold was either dead or lying on the ground missing a limb.

These kobolds were in the high teens and low twenties level-wise but against Eren’s stats they were completely helpless. Even regular trolls without special regeneration or size were too weak to put up a real fight against him right now.

Using the experience from the western side, Eren cleared the small enemies first and then went for the trolls’ legs to slow them down. After that everything happened fast. His scimitars were covered in cracks by this point but they held together for one last job while he stabbed through the trolls’ heads over and over.

He didn’t expect to level up this fast but good news was good news. He spent a few seconds scanning the eastern treeline for more threats and grabbed two fresh scimitars from the dead kobold leaders.

They all looked almost identical like they’d been copied with magic but there were obvious differences between them. These new ones felt a bit sturdier than the last pair. No artifact enchantments or stat bonuses probably but solid weapons were just as important as skills.

He was about to sprint to the north side when he stopped and decided to collect every usable scimitar he could find. He ran them all back to the village center, dumped the pile near the Totem except for two he kept for himself and then took off running toward Emily.

On the north side three poison variant Rotwood Trolls had been keeping Emily busy for the last fifteen minutes. She’d been using Wind Slash nonstop just to make sure they stayed focused on her and didn’t wander toward the village.

She also had the compressed wind skill she’d gained after hitting Level 50. It could fire a tight bolt of wind like a thick arrow or a short blade. But that skill was still Level 2 and so weak it barely did anything useful.

So she relied on what she’d been doing for years without even thinking about it. Wind Slashes aimed at their eyes to blind them and at the ground to annoy them. Always keeping distance. Always moving.

She was careful about the distance between herself and the trolls at all times. She’d been having fun and almost forgot she was pregnant for a while but the real gestation period would start within days. If what her mother and Selena told her was true, once that period began even catching a cold could affect the baby somehow. Letting troll poison touch her body even a little was out of the question.

Maybe because of that hesitation she’d gotten herself cornered a few times and missed opportunities where she could have moved in for a kill.

“Come on, hurry up…” She lost count of how many times she’d whispered for Eren to get here already.

And this time it was like a forest spirit heard her wish because a muscular two-meter half-elf appeared beside her. Scimitars in both hands, bare upper body smeared with green and red blood up to his shoulders and his feet completely bare and bloody on the dirt.

Emily found herself more impressed every time Eren moved and fought like he belonged in this forest.

“I’ll distract two of them while you take the one on the outs-” Emily started her plan but before she could finish Eren appeared behind one of the trolls that had just crashed through an elf house. He swung both scimitars at an angle he’d never tried before and hit the troll’s tree-trunk ankles with everything he had.

It wasn’t a flashy or technically impressive move. But for someone with Eren’s raw power it was the best he could do.

“Not the legs, their necks are the weak point! They guard their throats constantly!” Emily knew Eren tended to go for the most obvious target first so she tried to help. But she was busy keeping the other two trolls from reaching him or surrounding them with their poison aura.

“Stupid dragon causing all this..” Emily muttered.

She swung her katana with all the frustration and irritation that had been building in her chest and something unexpected happened. A Wind Slash left her blade that was several times bigger and sharper than anything she’d ever produced.

Before she even understood what happened, the massive wind blade cut through one troll’s legs and tore the other one’s torso clean apart.

Something about the skill had changed when she swung with that emotion behind it. She didn’t know what exactly but both the size and the cutting power were completely different from before. The amount of mana she used and the speed of the skill activation were exactly the same as always.

Eren stared at her with his mouth open. Emily flashed him a gorgeous smile and winked, then swung her katana two more times. The evolved Wind Slashes flew at least forty meters and shredded all three trolls into pieces.

Then she waved him over with her hand while standing above the twitching troll remains and the disgusting pile of regenerating limbs.

Once they moved far enough from the poison aura Emily started walking toward one of the half-destroyed houses.

“Everything got wrecked, didn’t it?” She hadn’t meant to let anything show in her voice but Eren’s excited eyes made it obvious she wasn’t hiding her feelings at all.

The excitement from both the skill evolution and protecting the village for today was pouring out of both of them. Emily grabbed his arm and pulled him into the house’s bathroom which was somehow still intact.

They didn’t own the house but Emily knew the owner would leave this place and pick a different one, and honestly, she didn’t give a damn about ethical logic behind her actions.

She simply wanted to let go of everything, to be held securely in his arms and let herself be conquered by him body and soul.

I am losing my mind.

Closing her eyes as a warm shiver ran down her spine she said secretly.

God, I love him.

She started pulling off her sweat-soaked and blood-covered clothes and while Eren’s last clean pair of shorts was the only thing left on him, she grabbed the front with her palm and pulled them down.

“I don’t know how to control myself when you act like this.” Eren was genuinely aware that his physical strength was becoming more monstrous every day and he had to be more careful with Emily than ever.

But when they stepped under the water flowing from the bathroom wall together, both naked with Emily smiling at him like that…. holding back was nearly impossible. He had never felt this turned on in his entire life, including the night Emily got pregnant.

Maybe his stronger body and stats made a difference like her mother had to deal in the past. But who gives a sh*t, right!

His whole body was at peak hormonal overdrive from both the combat and the thoughts of having her as his own. Crazy and random thoughts were rushing through his body.

He stopped Emily’s hand that was trying to clean the blood off his body and pushed her against the wall. Then he lifted one of her legs onto his shoulder.

The last time they tried this position Emily couldn’t even speak from excitement. But right now, her lips were locked on his and her tongue conquered his mouth with such intensity that the last rational part of Eren’s brain gave up trying.

F*ck it!

They broke what was left of the already half-destroyed wooden house and went through every position they could think of in every possible place in it.

At some point they went outside to hollow village and did some crazy acts as two naked and horny beasts.

Outside of the village there were two dead elves and probably more enemies waiting to attack the village and inside there were many monster carcasses all over the place but in that moment they weren’t thinking about any of those.

The moment he stopped thinking and being rational, Eren’s passive charisma skill exploded with level-ups like a waterfall. Something about letting go of everything before his emotions completely made a difference and triggered an insane chain reaction in the skill.

Their love juices and moans were echoed in the whole village but for the villagers hiding in the underground shelter, it was like war cries. Maybe a couple of smart ones knew what was happening but Eren’s and Emily’s voice were too chaotic to trust their judgement to go outside.

Over six hours passed in this crazy and charmed state.

When Eren opened his eyes in their own bedroom with Emily beside him, the first thing he saw was a figure standing at the foot of the bed, a pair of eyes staring at his naked body.
