Chapter 43: Ch:43 Steaming Begins
Daniel rose from the bed, pulled up his pants and stepped outside toward the well. After cleaning his lower body, he walked to the kitchen and saw Jessica bent over, choosing vegetables from a basket.
He approached silently and delivered a nasty slap to her ass.
*SLAP!!*
“Agh,” she spun around. “Stop it, Daniel.”
“That’s for making my cock swollen,” he said with a grin.
“Oh… so you can cum in my pussy whenever you like, and I can’t even play with your cock?” she replied, narrowing her eyes.
Daniel grinned wider. “Fair enough, I’m going to my room. Hehe…”
*Slap!*
Daniel hurried to his room, sat cross-legged on the bed and pulled out his satchel, and opened the scroll.
————————
(Scroll)
By decree of the Trial Authority,
Let it be known and recorded upon this sacred scroll that the bearer herein has stood before the Trials and endured their judgment.
You are hereby recognized as one who walks the Path of the Shaman.
From this moment forth, the Authority shall take you into its charge, training you for a span of six months and honing your skills and abilities to their utmost limits.
Within a few days, a confirmation writ shall be delivered to your home, bearing notice of your next journey.
May God bear witness to your oath and guide your spirit, young Shaman.
————————
In the bottom right corner was a signature in glowing yellow ink, stamped with a red seal that looked like an eagle’s beak.
After reading it twice, Daniel set the scroll beside him and opened the rectangular wooden box.
Inside lay a diamond-shaped blue gem locket and a small money pouch. The moment his fingers touched the gem stone, it glowed brightly for no apparent reason.
Then he opened the pouch and paused, his eyes widening and mouth agape— inside were two gold coins, ten silver coins, and twenty copper coins.
He lifted a gold coin and tilted it towards the warm lantern light. It was gleaming in pure solid gold.
“Damn… with this money, I can make even more money,” he murmured, smiling.
An hour later, Jessica called him for dinner. After taking the first bite, Daniel couldn’t help but compliment her cooking until he was satisfied. Her mood lightened in blissful delight.
…
“Uff, her fish curry was so… good, I didn’t even feel like I ate alot but. Hoo… my stomach,” he groaned, gently rubbing his belly.
Next early morning.
He stepped outside, heading toward the east corner, while holding a piece of paper.
Daniel knocked on Jessica’s door before leaving, but she didn’t answer—she was in a deep sleep.
“Hmm… where is he?” he muttered, scanning the surrounding area.
In the far corner, he spotted a figure standing near a wooden gate. Daniel lifted his hand in a gesture, and the man waved in return.
“Good morning sir,” the stallkeeper said warmly.
Daniel smiled. “Good morning… did you bring all the things I asked for?”
“Yes, sir. Please come inside.”
The stallkeeper opened the wooden gate, and stepped through. Daniel followed, walking beside him.
The house was simple but looked old and unkempt from the outside. The front windows were slightly tilted as if they could fall at any moment, and a wooden chair, draped in cobwebs, stood silently on the porch.
Daniel stepped inside and saw a single room. A lone bed sat in the left edge corner, while a small bowl rested on the dining table at the center, accompanied by a chair.
In the far corner, an earthen stove stood near a window. The kitchen was open, with no walls to separate it from the rest of the room.
He glanced around as he walked toward the kitchen. The ingredients were already laid out separate plates.
Chicken breasts, shallots, spring onions, garlics, green chillies, ginger, and a whole cabbage.
“Huh? Where is the refined flour?” he asked.
“Oh… it’s in the cupboard. Hang on a second…”
The stallkeeper returned with a generous amount of flour in a medium-sized skillet. “Is this enough?”
Daniel nodded. “Okay, now make the dough and… by the way, what is your name, sir?”
The man paused. “Uh, it’s Renery, sir.”
“Nice to meet you, Renery.”
“Status,” Daniel murmured, his voice barely audible.
————————
Name: Renery Ponel
Age: 32
HP: 1300/1300
Mana: 50/50
Description: An ambivert who despises God after losing both parents to cancer and has convinced himself that it is a curse that has haunted his family for generations.
————————
’Hmm… he’s an honest person, even after facing so many hardships,’ he whispered, feeling pity for him.
Daniel sat on the wooden floor with a kitchen knife and began chopping the vegetables and chicken breasts into tiny smithereens.
A few minutes later Renery returned with a perfectly kneaded dough. “Sir, it’s ready… now what?”
Daniel handed him a steel glass and instructed him to cut circular pieces from the thin flour sheets and stack them aside like a tower.
Then he filled a pan with water, set it on the flaming earthen stove, and placed the bamboo steamer on top.
The Chicken filling was done, the thin dough sheets neatly cut and stacked, and the steamer was heating, everything was set.
Daniel took a slice of dough in his palm, placed the chicken mixture in the center, then folded and squeezed around the dough edges tightly, sealing it into a small pouch.
He then gently dropped it into the bamboo steamer, letting it cook slowly.
Renery watched in confusion, he had no idea what they were making—and refocused himself on rolling more dough.
Ten minutes later, Daniel carefully lifted one out of the steamer, making sure it didn’t break, and blew on it before tasting it. A satisfied smile spread across his face.
’Damn… this is exactly like the dumplings I used to make in my previous life,’ he thought, pulling another into a bowl and handing it to Renery.
“Try it, sir,” he said with a warm smile on his face.
The moment Renery took a bite, the flavour exploded in his mouth. His eyes widened in pure joy.
“Oh my god, sir. What is this food? It taste absolutely delicious and quickly melts in my mouth. What is it?”
Daniel smiled, looking at his joyful expression. “Well, I haven’t thought a name for it yet. But there’s still one more piece, that is missing. Something that can elevate the taste even further.”
Renery looked puzzled and glanced at the bowl on the table.
He grabbed another cooked dumpling from the steamer, brought over a small bowl of the leftover chutney he had made last night, dipped it, and took a bite.
*nom*
Instantly, his mouth experienced an orgasm of flavours. He walked to Daniel and offered him the chutney-coated dumpling.
“Sir, try this.”
