After registering at the gate, Kitazawa and Kakashi set off.

“Kitazawa,” Kakashi said once they were outside the Land of Fire, “From here on, I’ll give the orders.”

Kitazawa didn’t mind. Kakashi was only trying to protect him. Still, it showed how little trust Kakashi had in him.

But that was fair.

In Kakashi’s eyes, Kitazawa was still just an academy teacher—a relic from yesterday.
