Sasuke gritted his teeth, trying to push himself off the ground. His arms trembled, his legs refused to cooperate—the sudden drain of chakra had left his body sluggish and weak.

“As expected, Naruto takes the win.”

Kiba exhaled, half impressed, half envious.

“But Sasuke’s gotten a lot stronger,” Neji said quietly, arms folded. His tone was calm, but his expression wasn’t. Watching their fight, he’d realized something that left a sour taste—he probably couldn’t defeat either of them anymore.

“Yeah,” Tenten agreed. “Naruto’s victory was narrow—really narrow.”
