“Oh?” I tilted my head, feigning curiosity. “And why would I need to learn anything from you? I’d like to think I’m doing just fine on my own.”

She stepped closer, her gaze unwavering as she looked up at me. “A gut feeling,” she said simply.

“A gut feeling?” I echoed, amused by her confidence.

“Yes,” she said with a serene smile. “You’re powerful, Alex. I’ve seen that much. But power without precision can be wasteful. If you’re truly as strong as you appear to be, wouldn’t it be wise to refine that strength?”

Her words were calculated, aimed at challenging my pride without overtly confronting it. She was clever; I’d give her that.

I chuckled softly. “You make an interesting point, Shinobu. But what’s in it for you? Why go out of your way to teach me anything?”

“Simple,” she replied, her expression softening just slightly. “If you’re going to stay here and involve yourself in our world, it’s in everyone’s best interest that you’re prepared. Besides,” she added with a playful glint in her eyes, “you might find our techniques surprisingly effective.”

Her calm confidence piqued my interest. Shinobu wasn’t someone who acted without reason, and if she believed this demon hunt was worth my time, perhaps there was more to it than she let on.

“Alright, you’ve convinced me,” I said finally, a smile tugging at my lips. “Let’s go hunt this demon of yours. But,” I added with a mischievous grin, “if I impress you, you’ll owe me a favor.”

Saying that, I extend my arm for a handshake. Shinobu was confused by these actions.

“What are you doing?” It seems Shinobu didn’t know what a handshake was.

“It’s a form of greeting we do after we finalize a decision.” I don’t even know if what I said was right or wrong.
