The air was Awith the scent of perfume, sweat, and something else—something darker. The faint traces of demonic energy clung to the walls, like a whisper of malevolence hidden beneath layers of silk and powder.

I climbed the stairs soundlessly, my footsteps making no noise as I approached Warabihime’s quarters. The door stood before me, a barrier separating me from the one I had come to see.

I didn’t bother knocking. With a mere thought, the door slid open, and I stepped inside.

There she was—Daki, known here as Warabihime, the infamous oiran of the district. She sat gracefully, dressed in a vibrant kimono that draped elegantly around her. Her long, white hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her eyes, deep and striking, locked onto mine the moment I entered.

She had been waiting.

“You finally came,” she murmured, her voice carrying a sultry edge. She didn’t sound afraid.

I studied her, sensing something unusual about her demeanor. Most demons, when confronted with my presence, either attacked in desperation or crumbled under the weight of their impending doom. But Daki… she was different. There was no resistance, no illusions about the fate that awaited her.

“You knew I would,” I said simply, stepping forward.

She chuckled, resting her chin in her palm as she gazed at me with something almost resembling admiration. “Of course. I heard about Akaza, Gyokko and other who fight you… I knew my time would come. But before that, I wanted to meet you.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Meet me?”

Her smile widened. “You’re special, Alex. Unlike anyone else. Even she—” Daki paused, correcting herself. “Even Muzanette has become obsessed with you. You’re all she talks about. It’s affecting me, too. I wanted to see the man who could make her—no, us—feel this way.”

Muzanette.

The Demon Queen herself. Now that is new; I don’t think she is obsessed with me. I didn’t do anything special; the only time I even saw her was when I visited Infinity Castle to take Shalltear back.

Damn, I should have touched her back then to see her character sheet. But anyway, I have a more important thing.

I sighed. “I don’t have time for games, Daki. I’ll ask only once. Where are Uzui’s wives?”

She tilted her head, a playful gleam in her eyes. “And what do I get in return?”

I narrowed my eyes. “You already know I could kill you in an instant. There’s no deal to be made here.”

“And yet,” she mused, running a finger along the fabric of her kimono, “you haven’t. You could have struck me down the moment you entered this room, but instead, you’re talking to me. That means I do have something to offer, doesn’t it?”

I remained silent. Of course, you do. I am going to bag you after all this. You are sexy after all, but your personality is shit. I am going to fix that after I take you to Nazarick.

She leaned forward slightly. “Humor me, Alex. What will you give me in return for the information?”

This was absurd. Daki was fully aware that she had no leverage, yet she still insisted on playing this game. Either she was testing me, or this was another effect of Muzanette’s obsession clouding her mind.

I exhaled. “You want something before you die. Name it.”

Her lips curved into a smirk. “I want to experience what it’s like to be close to you. I want to feel you inside me.”

I stared at her. “You want to what?” That’s unexpectedly straightforward, not that I mind.

I did edit her character before I came to this world so that she is going to hate men, as when she was human she was tortured by men. And after becoming a demon, she used beauty to attract men and kill them in cold blood, because of that, even though she is an oiran, no men have seen even her skin.

In a sense, she is the opposite of Akaza. Akaza doesn’t eat women, but Daki actively targets men.

Because of that, her asking me to fill inside her is a surprise because she hated me. I was actually planning to turn her into one of my vampire brides and then slowly make her mine.

She laughed. “It seems you are not that disgusted about the idea.” She leaned back, her smirk never fading. “I just… I want to understand. To see for myself what it is about you that’s so… intoxicating about you. Before I die, I want to feel it.”

I took a step closer, and she tensed, despite the bravado she tried to maintain. I could sense the wariness beneath the surface. Even if she wished to meet me, even if she felt this unnatural pull toward me, some instincts couldn’t be silenced.

Reaching out, I placed a hand beneath her chin, tilting her face up slightly. Her breath hitched, her eyes widening.

“Tell me where they are,” I said, my voice lower this time.

Her lips parted slightly, and for a moment, it seemed like she might resist. But then, she exhaled softly.

“Yoshiwara’s underground chambers,” she admitted. “They were taken there.”

I released her, stepping back. “Good.”

Daki let out a shaky breath, her hands gripping the fabric of her kimono as if to steady herself.

I sent a message to Uzui.

“I have their location. They are at Yoshiwara’s underground chambers. Go save then.” I also sent the vampire brides to withdraw and go to where Shalltear is. Then I turned to Daki.

“Are you ready?” I asked.

She smiled faintly. “You’re not going to kill me, are you?”

I remained silent for a moment before shaking my head. “No. I am going to fulfill your wish.”
