The air around us shimmered as I activated my teleportation spell. In an instant, the warm hues of the street outside the restaurant were replaced by the grandiose interior of Nazarick’s cafeteria. The massive hall gleamed with polished marble floors, chandeliers casting a soft glow over long tables adorned with golden accents. The rich, savory aroma of past meals lingered faintly, promising culinary excellence.

Mitsuri gasped, her wide eyes darting around the grand room. “This… this is incredible!” she exclaimed, her hands clasped together in awe. “I’ve never seen anything like this!”

Before I could respond, a familiar figure approached. Yuri Alpha, one of the battle maids of Nazarick, walked toward us with her usual composed demeanor. Her uniform was immaculate, her glasses perfectly positioned, and her expression a picture of professional calm.

“Lord Alex,” she greeted, bowing slightly. “Welcome back. I trust everything went smoothly?” Her eyes flicked to Mitsuri for a brief moment, taking in the unfamiliar face before returning to me. “If I may ask, where is Lupusregina? She is typically by your side.”

“Lupusregina is currently on a date,” I replied, a small smile playing on my lips. “With Shalltear. I gave them some time off.”

Yuri nodded, her expression unwavering. “Understood. It’s good to know they are enjoying themselves. And this guest is…?”

I gestured toward Mitsuri, who was still looking around with unabashed amazement. “This is Mitsuri Kanroji, a companion of mine. Mitsuri, this is Yuri Alpha, one of the finest maids in Nazarick.”

Mitsuri turned her attention to Yuri, her awe quickly shifting. “Oh my! Yuri-san, you’re absolutely beautiful! After Lupusregina-san and Shalltear-san, you might be the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen!”

Yuri blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the compliment. Her professionalism quickly reasserted itself, and she gave Mitsuri a small bow. “Thank you for your kind words, Lady Kanroji. It is an honor to meet you.”

Mitsuri beamed, her enthusiasm radiating like sunlight. “No need to be so formal! You’re amazing—so elegant and graceful. It’s wonderful to meet you too!”

Yuri offered a polite “Thank you,” but I could tell from the subtle shift in her expression that Mitsuri’s bubbly nature had caught her by surprise.

I chuckled softly, interrupting the exchange. “Yuri, could you inform the chefs to prepare a feast for Mitsuri? She has quite the appetite, and I want her to experience the best of Nazarick’s cuisine.”

Yuri bowed again, her movements fluid and precise. “As you wish, Lord Alex. I shall ensure the chefs prepare a meal befitting your guest.” She turned on her heel and headed toward the kitchen, leaving Mitsuri and me alone for a moment.

Mitsuri clasped her hands behind her back, rocking slightly on her heels as she looked at me. “Alex-san, everyone here seems so… proper and amazing. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale.”

I raised an eyebrow, amused. “Fairy tale, huh? Well, I suppose Nazarick does have that effect. But don’t let their demeanor fool you—everyone here is also incredibly capable.”

She tilted her head, her pink hair falling over one shoulder. “Like warriors?”

“And then some,” I said. “Yuri, for instance, is skilled in both combat and strategy. Shalltear and Lupusregina are similarly formidable, each in their own way.”

Mitsuri’s eyes sparkled with admiration. “That’s incredible! You’re surrounded by such amazing people, Alex-san. I’m starting to see why you’re so strong—it must be inspiring.”

Before I could respond, Yuri returned, her footsteps light but deliberate. “The chefs have begun preparations, Lord Alex. The meal will be ready shortly. In the meantime, I’ve arranged for refreshments to be brought to your table.”

“Excellent,” I said, gesturing toward a nearby table with cushioned chairs. “Let’s sit, Mitsuri.”

She followed me eagerly, practically bouncing as she took a seat across from me. Moments later, a servant arrived with a tray of drinks and light snacks. Mitsuri’s face lit up at the sight of the colorful arrangement of fruit and pastries.

“These look amazing!” she said, picking up a small tart and taking a bite. Her eyes widened in delight. “Mmm, so good!”

I watched her with amusement, taking a sip of the drink in front of me. Nazarick’s chefs never disappointed, and it was clear Mitsuri was thoroughly enjoying herself.

Yuri remained nearby, her hands folded neatly in front of her as she observed. Despite her stoic expression, I could tell she was ensuring everything was up to Nazarick’s high standards.

“Mitsuri,” I said, catching her attention as she reached for another tart. “You mentioned earlier that you joined the Demon Slayer Corps to find someone who could understand and accept you.”

She nodded, “Yeah.”

“Then what do you think about me?”
