Chapter 9: Hunt

While I’m eating my meal, Elena explains that tomorrow she will take me to a small human village so I can hunt something that can run. Apparently, she’s going to set up a barrier and see how long it takes me to eliminate the thousand humans in the village.

“Hmm, the food is always delicious. I don’t know who the cook is, but they deserve a round of applause.”

After finishing dinner, I go take a bath to sleep. After the first day, I always wash my tail and angelic halo by myself, as I’ve realized these two parts are extremely sensitive and I don’t want Elena touching them because it makes me make strange sounds.

She finishes bathing me and I go to sleep, I’m very excited for tomorrow. Using magic doesn’t seem too difficult, I think my passive abilities help a lot in that area, as well as my monstrous amount of mana.

The aura around this soldier is a kind of purple-gray color, it’s around his body.

“Fear…” I associate this aura with my passive ability to see emotions as colors.

‘I want to test it…’ I let my wolves reduce the numbers while I go test this passive on this guy.

“You want to live,” I ask him, my beautiful voice doesn’t match the bloody scene at my feet at all, he speaks desperately.

“…” His color varies when I mention letting him live, I cut off one of his arms. He screams as he drags himself to flee.

There’s a path cleared by force, everything that was in front of me is gone, dismembered bodies and body parts are everywhere, forming a kind of river of blood.

The sight and smell sharpen my senses, seeing this bloody vision only whets my appetite, it’s bizarre how my mind has changed with the change of race. This vision that would be repulsive to many seems beautiful and delicious to me.

Screams echo throughout the village, I start walking calmly, seeing the chaos I’ve created. Several houses are on fire as wolves run around, there are many unrecognizable bodies, probably people caught by the large wolf since I don’t see how the smaller ones could do that.

I see the large wolf chewing on a body.

“He’s… eating?” I don’t know how the Shadow Sculptures work, I don’t know if these things are really alive or just simulating the act of a living being.

“Well, it doesn’t matter, I guess. 10 minutes have passed, I only killed 97 people… my wolves eliminated 853, there are 50 people left.”

If I had to kill using just physical strength, would it take longer or shorter? If I ran at full speed without wasting time, would it be faster than with the wolves?

I have no way of knowing. I start sniffing the scent of people, the smell of blood is everywhere, but my sense of smell easily distinguishes between the different scents. I start hunting them one by one, while my wolves search houses and rummage through everything.

I searched calmly, after all I still had 20 minutes, and after 5 minutes I managed to eliminate all those who were hiding, finishing with 15 minutes to spare.

“I wonder what to ask Elena for as a reward…” Soon Elena appears near me.

“Congratulations, Your Majesty, your strategy was excellent. With it, Your Majesty accomplished it in 1/4 of the time I initially said.”

“Of course it was… now I’ve earned a reward… right?”

“Yes, Your Majesty, I will grant one request as a reward.”

“Then let’s go back to the mansion, I’ll tell you there what I want,” I say as I teleport with Elena back to the mansion to get my reward.
