Chapter 317: Call and Answer (M)
It was, in fact, partly due to pheromones.
Not the part where he was utterly breathless and completely defeated, no—that part was all on him and his mate—but mainly the part where he realized that he was unusually supple.
He was so unusually supple that he had a moment where he panicked, thinking something was wrong.
Worse, he, Riley Hale Dravaryn, current half-baked dragon and former human, was experiencing a foreign phenomenon: self-lubrication.
Particularly from behind.
Lubrication itself wasn’t exactly new to him. It was an essential part of enjoying each other and something Kael had been particular about.
He didn’t want Riley to feel uncomfortable, so the golden dragon always took his time with that.
But that was in the front.
Not the back.
More importantly, as a male, how could he self-lubricate enough that his mate’s tongue just slipped in?
And if this were normal, why only now?!
But Riley, who was trying to keep it together by thinking with human logic, shelved his questions fast because the presence of Kael’s tongue took over his senses before he could hypothesize.
“Haaah!”
The sound tore out of him before he could help it.
Kael’s tongue had just pressed in—soft, careful, and not rushed in the slightest. But the sensation was so utterly foreign that Riley arched forward without meaning to, hips tilting because his body wanted more.
More.
He needed more.
His cock bobbed in the air, fully erect and most definitely flushed.
Every muscle in his torso tightened, and the feeling of having that wet, muscular heat inside him made his head roll back, his mouth hanging open in a silent jagged gasp.
He wanted to cum.
He wanted it when Kael curled his tongue a little, like he was tasting him.
He wanted release when the dragon thrust and retreated that ungodly tongue, slow and steady, inside him.
But he had never wanted release as badly as when Kael’s thumb gently pressed against the tip of his member.
Riley practically convulsed.
“Hngh!”
“Kael—!”
“I—”
He couldn’t go. Not with that thumb right there.
And yet the contact was electric, a sharp contrast to the slick friction behind him.
Riley was about to say “please,” but it never came out.
Because Kael didn’t need his mate to beg. He was simply biding time, as he watched and listened for cues so that at the perfect moment, he’d be able to give him pleasure.
Like when he used magic to keep his twig lifted before using his fingers to rub at that landing strip of skin.
He honestly wouldn’t have thought of that as anything instrumental, but Kael, who zeroed in on his mate’s everything, realized that Riley would jolt every time he grazed the spot.
So he tried it.
And gods help Riley, it worked.
The friction on his taint was the final straw.
His legs stiffened.
Toes pointed.
Then curled.
Riley’s eyes widened as his hand fisted hard on the bed sheet. His mouth fell open in a silent gasp as everything hit him all at once.
His body gave way.
And Kael, watching it all unfold, looked like he could devour him whole.
__
He could definitely do that. But his mate had to be enjoyed in all possible ways. He had to make sure Riley wouldn’t want for anything, and he was more than willing to wait.
He was impatient about everything else, but as someone who waited centuries for his mate, he was certain he had enough patience to wait for anything, provided it was related to his twig.
Like he was patient enough to answer Riley’s questions even when he wanted nothing more than to sink his tongue inside once again.
But no.
Instead, he answered when his mate asked between breaths, “Kael, what’s happening to me?”
“And I’m not talking about how I just came apart in your hand, okay.”
“Hm?”
Kael couldn’t help but look a little smug as he looked at his twig, who was still flushed. He was beautiful like this. So why shouldn’t they talk about how he spilled all that hot liquid all over his hand?
They should definitely talk about that and how his hole twitched so hard the moment he did.
But instead, Riley was asking why, even now, he could feel the difference in his insides.
“You’re probably talking about the effects of pheromones.”
“Ha!” Riley weakly raised a hand as if announcing his assumption was right.
“I knew it!”
The dragon lord waited for his twig’s little celebration before continuing. “It’s really why it doesn’t matter what race it is. Dragons, as polymorphs, could generally influence their mating partners to accept them.”
“What?!”
Riley, who felt like he had run a marathon despite just offering up his ass, actually sat up to look at Kael, who radiated with the pheromones they were talking about.
“Yes. The goal of pheromones is to make it as easy as possible for dragons to implant for reproduction.”
“!”
“So in this humanoid form, that would entail relaxed muscles for ease of entry as well as making sure our own release would be able to stick so our mates could conceive.”
“!!!”
Riley couldn’t believe he was hearing Dragon Reproduction 101 right now, but as someone who had been curious about such a thing and as someone who knew thousands of people who would exchange a ball just to hear this knowledge, he couldn’t help but get aroused from satisfaction.
He was definitely depraved that way. Dammit.
“So you’re saying I’m practically self-lubricating to assist you?”
“Yes. My pheromones are doing that to you.”
Oh, wow.
Riley found that extremely interesting. But at least he managed to retain a bit of his dignity by understanding that it wasn’t that his ass was that easy to coax, but because there just so happened to be a special key and Kael had it.
However, before he could celebrate, the golden dragon continued.
“But in turn, as a dragon who could release a similar pheromone, your body is telling me to make sure I plant my seed into you.”
“Then it’s convincing my body not only to seed you, but to make sure I put mana into the seed so it would be viable.”
“!!!”
“And unlike mating with other beings, where it would be up to the sole dragon to decide whether the seed would materialize into an egg, a fellow dragon would be able to coax it out from their mate.”
“Wait, what?”
Riley was practically scrambling toward Kael now.
“Are you saying that if we do it in this state, you’d likely be inclined t-to seed me?”
“Inclined? No. Not really.”
“It wouldn’t be an inclination. You would get pregnant.”
“!!!”
Riley was understandably shocked.
“WHAT? You’re saying I’ve convinced you that I want a child, so it’s guaranteed?”
Kael wasn’t sure if his twig would want to hear it with how frazzled he looked right now, but it would always be better to tell him instead of having him find out from someone else.
“Not only would it be convincing because it’s partly an invitation to all unmated dragons that you want to have children, but more importantly, you wouldn’t let go before I give you what you want.”
“?!”
Now, who wouldn’t be dumbfounded with that?
Riley, in fact, had to take a moment because he had so many questions. He wanted to ask what he meant by an invitation to all unmated dragons. He wanted to ask how his body decided he wanted to have children right now. He also wanted an elaboration on that thing about him not letting go.
But instead of asking all those, what came out of his mouth was, “Why now? We’ve been intimate before, so why did I only encounter pheromones now?”
The golden dragon reached out to hold him, and Riley let him.
“When you were human, even if I had released pheromones, you wouldn’t have known.”
“But I haven’t consciously released pheromones until today.”
“Huh?”
“After the first time it happens unexpectedly, dragons would then be able to control our pheromones. So it’s generally deliberate when dragons release theirs.”
“As a dragon who didn’t want to be mated to anyone else for the longest time, I definitely wouldn’t release or respond to pheromones even when they were aimed at me.”
Green eyes blinked up at Kael, and Riley asked, “Then why now?”
“Because you called.”
“And you are my mate. So I will answer when you call. Always.”
Riley gasped.
He wasn’t even aware he had done such a thing as calling. Because who would have known you could call to ask for a child?
But apparently, he could.
Thankfully, after Riley almost spiraled from hearing that, Kael explained how he had kept his pheromones away because he hadn’t needed them.
He wasn’t being intimate with Riley to end up with a child.
“Then what about me?” The worried ex-mortal pointed to himself.
“It’s not that we can’t have children, but Kael, I don’t think I was particularly asking to have one now.”
“I figured. But it’s likely a combination of finally having enough mana and enough latent desire. That’s usually the trigger for when it unconsciously happens for the first time.”
Oh.
Well, Riley couldn’t argue with having enough desire when, even as they spoke, naked and all, he couldn’t help but be stimulated when Kael traced slow circles on his thigh.
He clearly had enough desire. Alright.
“So I wouldn’t be releasing pheromones all the time, right?”
“Ideally, no. The moment your mana tires out, the first time would probably end. Then from then on, you’d have better control of it.”
Riley felt better about that. He didn’t think he would survive the way werewolves didn’t have control over their pheromones and would usually end up with tragic accidents here and there.
But knowing dragons normally had a switch for it made him feel better.
However, what else should he know about this so he’s not surprised by everything? Who would have thought there would be this kind of thing for someone thousands of years old?
Geez.
Well, apparently, his mate wasn’t all that certain about the particulars because he’d never been one to experiment on it.
“May I?” Kael asked.
Riley wasn’t sure what he was asking about until he agreed, and his legs were once again parted.
Huh?
“Well, for starters, what I know is that the reproductive organs would be highly stimulated. Like in your case, this part.”
Kael, the ever-loving golden dragon, rested his index finger right on Riley’s hole, and Riley trembled in surprise.
“From what I know, it would be extremely receptive and—”
Kael stopped.
Riley stiffened.
Then they looked at each other.
The dragon lord had a curious and extremely interested look.
On the other hand, the ex-mortal male looked absolutely mortified.
Kael said receptive.
RECEPTIVE.
A damn recipient!
So why did Riley’s hole just vacuum up Kael’s unsuspecting finger?
The tip of his finger breached Riley’s inside.
Kael, who had just discovered a new use for his fingers, knew in his heart what he had to do.
And Riley?
He was more than just receptive.
Fuck.
