The mirror in front of him couldn’t possibly be lying, and at the moment it was telling a story that had Riley’s head spinning.

As Kael took him from behind, Riley had no choice but to confront his own reflection.

His eyes were blown wide, hooded and hazy with a dark, liquid heat that he could hardly recognize as his own.

For a second Riley simply stared at him.

Then a soft, breathless giggle slipped out before he could stop it.

The sound was contagious.

Soon enough, Kael was shaking his head, the two of them sharing a quiet laugh in the middle of the otherwise silent hall.

The dragon lord didn’t even bother letting go.

Instead, Kael lifted one hand and flicked his fingers lazily. A faint shimmer of golden magic wrapped around the dresser, stabilizing the cracked wood and holding the poor thing together before it could collapse completely.

Maybe that one deserved a little repair.

More importantly though…

Maybe they both needed a little sleep.
