Chapter 321: Just a Bit (M)
Hi.
My name is Riley, and I just might be insane.
In a momentary introspection intended to clarify morals, Riley wanted to talk to himself. Was he really about to throw all his resolve out of the bathwater because of a little bit of soap and a lot of dragon?
Apparently, the answer was a resounding, vibrating yes.
Riley’s brain was trying to pull up a calendar, a list of chores, and a mental image of kids who would probably enjoy cake pops, but his body was currently rewriting his entire internal code.
Every time Kael’s hand moved, it felt like a brush of fire against silk. The dragon was being so clinical, so earnest in his duty, that it made the contact ten times more erotic than if he had been trying to be provocative.
“Kael,” Riley tried again, his voice sounding like it had been dragged through gravel and honey. “I think… I think I can finish the rest.”
“You are shaking,” the golden observed, his voice a low rumble that the poor ex-mortal felt in his very marrow. “It is better if I do it. You need to conserve your strength.”
No shit.
The irony was thick enough to drown in. Riley was losing more strength trying to stay still than he would have if he just let Kael have his way.
Actually no. It was more like he would have lost less strength had he just let himself have his way with his mate.
The cloth dipped back into the warm, fragrant water and then returned to Riley’s skin. This time, Kael didn’t stop at the thighs. With the same agonizingly slow and “serious” pace, he moved to the small of Riley’s back, then lower, his hand following the curve of Riley’s rear with a pressure that was just firm enough to be maddening.
Riley’s fingers gripped the edge of the pool so hard his knuckles turned white. He was biting his lip again, trying to keep the sounds in, but when Kael’s fingers slid between his cheeks to clean away the last of their shared mess, Riley’s hips didn’t just shimmy.
They bucked.
A sharp, needy sound escaped his throat, echoing off the stones of the magical bath.
“Riley?” Kael paused, his hand remaining exactly where it was, cradling Riley’s heat. “Does this hurt? I am trying to be gentle.”
Riley turned his head, looking at Kael over his shoulder. The golden dragon looked genuinely concerned, his brow slightly furrowed, his eyes searching Riley’s face for any sign of distress. He was so pure in his devotion that it made Riley feel like a total deviant for wanting to be bent over the edge of the lagoon right then and there.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Riley managed to choke out, his eyes hazy and dark. “It’s the opposite of hurt, Kael. It’s… too much.”
The golden dragon’s gaze dropped to Riley’s mouth, then lower, to where the water couldn’t hide the fact that Riley was once again reaching for the sky. The dragon’s expression shifted. The clinical focus didn’t disappear, but it was joined by a flicker of that golden hunger Riley had seen earlier.
“Too much?” Kael repeated, his thumb ghosting over the entrance he had so thoroughly explored. “I thought you said we should rest.”
“I did,” Riley whispered, his resolve crumbling like dry parchment. “I really, really did.”
Kael didn’t say anything for a moment. He just watched the way Riley’s chest heaved and the way his pupils were blown so wide they nearly swallowed those emeralds.
Then, Kael set the cloth aside and spoke.
“If it’s too difficult, then a bit. We can do a bit.”
“A bit?” Riley repeated, his voice barely a breath. It was a dangerous offer. A bit for a dragon was usually a mountain for everyone else. But in this case, a bit for a crazed person who also happens to be a dragon like Riley, may just be the skies.
“Yes, just a bit,” Kael confirmed.
They stared at each other for a good moment, and Riley agreed.
Then again, was he agreeing to Kael or to himself about this little bit?
Well, who knows?
But he didn’t get to ponder more as he felt it was more important to receive his husband, who leaned down for him.
The golden dragon lowered his face, capturing Riley’s lips in a kiss that tasted of steam and sea salt.
They were going to do just a bit.
Riley continued to tell himself that, as he received a kiss that had him reeling.
It wasn’t a tentative kiss; it was deep, possessive, and promised that “a bit” was going to be the most productive understatement of the century.
But it was always like that with his mate.
So still, it should be fine.
Just a bit of touching, apparently.
Just Kael’s hands finding his chest. Those fingers locking onto these sensitive, aching peaks with a precision that made Riley’s vision swim. He rolled each one, tugging slightly in time with the water’s lap against their skin. At the same time, his other hand drifted beneath the surface, his fingers wrapping firmly around his mate’s rigid member.
The “bit” of touching was agonizingly focused. The golden dragon wasn’t rushing; he was meticulously milking every strangled gasp out of Riley’s lungs.
But the ex-mortal, not to be outdone by his husband’s sudden shift in intensity, decided to contribute his own “bit.”
Since he was already backed up against that solid, muscular chest, Riley leaned into it. He lowered his center of gravity in the water, his rear finding the thick, pulsing heat of Kael’s own shaft. He began to rub against it, a slow and rhythmic grinding that sent ripples through the lagoon.
It was a primitive, desperate sort of friction. Riley’s wet skin slid against Kael’s thighs, his every movement designed to elicit that low, draconic growl he loved so much.
“Riley,” The golden dragon warned, his voice sounding like shifting plates. His grip on Riley’s chest tightened, and his hand moved faster on Riley’s length.
“You said… just a bit,” Riley panted, his head falling back against Kael’s shoulder once more. He didn’t stop the grinding; if anything, he increased the pressure, wanting to feel the full weight of Kael’s desire against him.
The sarcastic “bit” was quickly turning into an all-out assault on their senses. Between the slick heat of the water, the rhythmic tugging on his nipples, and the way he was shamelessly riding Kael’s thigh, Riley thought they were sure doing a good bit.
A generous and most carnal bit.
Kael moved his hand from Riley’s chest to his throat, not to choke, but to hold him steady as he increased the speed of his stroking. Riley’s world narrowed down to the sensation of Kael around him. Beneath him. And if only it were possible to be inside him.
But that wasn’t something he could focus on when the water was no longer a sanctuary of rest but a churning cauldron.
Kael’s hand remained by his mate’s delicate throat, while his other hand maintained a steady, relentless grip on Riley’s hardening member. The friction of Riley’s rear against Kael’s submerged shaft was reaching a fever pitch, the wet heat of the lagoon making every slide of skin feel like an electric shock.
“Kael—! Wait, I—”
Riley’s voice broke as his hips bucked uncontrollably. He could feel the climax building, a tidal wave ready to crash, but it felt lopsided. It was too focused on the front, too much like a quick release, and he wanted—he needed—the fullness he had felt earlier.
“I don’t… I don’t want to come like this,” Riley gasped, his head lolling back against Kael’s shoulder, his eyes pleading. “Not just… not just from this.”
Kael’s golden eyes darkened, the dragon within surging at the directness of his mate’s desire.
He understood immediately. Without a word, he shifted, lifting Riley’s weight and moving them through the swirling water toward a shallower, but still submerged ledge of the lagoon.
Like this he would be able to attend to him without pushing further past the already flimsy limits. If they remained standing like this then he’d be able to rein himself in.
He settled Riley just in front of those decorative stones, the cool rock a sharp contrast to the heat of their bodies. Kael let go of Riley’s throat and member, but only to replace that contact with something more visceral. He reached above the water, his fingers finding that uniquely damp, welcoming heat that was already slick and waiting.
His own shaft throbbed at the sight. Especially as his mate looked at him with desperation.
Kael slid his fingers back inside with a wet, squelching suction that was amplified by the heat around them. His fingers went in like Riley had been waiting for him.
So when he reached further inside, Kael didn’t just stroke; he used his strength to hit that perfect, unique angle that he’d come to recognize, pinning Riley against the ledge as he finger-fucked him in earnest.
“Is this what you want?” Kael’s breath was a scorching gale against Riley’s neck. “Look at me, Riley. Tell me.”
Riley couldn’t speak. He could only let out a raw, melodic cry as Kael’s fingers moved with a speed that blurred the line between pleasure and a beautiful, drowning sort of pain. His world narrowed to the sound of his own desperate, sobbing breaths. He reached back blindly, his fingers splashing into the water before finding purchase on Kael’s damp, golden hair, pulling him closer and demanding the final blow.
It came with a sudden, devastating surge.
Kael hit that spot—the one that felt like the center of Riley’s soul—and Riley’s body simply gave up. He went rigid, his back arching off as he spilled his release. His internal walls clamped down on Kael’s fingers in a series of violent, rhythmic pulses that didn’t seem to stop.
The sight and feel of Riley’s total surrender broke Kael’s own iron-clad control.
The dragon let out a low, guttural roar. He thrust one last time against Riley’s trembling rear, his own body shuddering with the force of his climax. The water around them grew cloudy as they both let go, their shared heat blooming in the cooling lagoon.
The spent ex-mortal couldn’t help but slacken against his mate.
“That…” Riley wheezed, his voice practically non-existent. “That was… more than a bit.”
But it was certainly a bit he thoroughly liked.
