Chapter 79: Eat Your Heart Out

Jiaoying didn’t fall asleep quite as fast as the others did.

After closing her eyes for a bit, she opened them again to find both of her partners already dozing.

The gravity of everything that they had done finally hit Jiaoying like a ton of bricks.

She rolled over and pressed her face into her pillow; unsure of whether she should suffocate herself or just scream.

Eventually, she did neither.

Instead, she turns her head slightly and stares at their sleeping faces.

Yari is usually a much harder, ice-cold woman.

When she sleeps, she is almost like a child. Her face is angelic and innocent. She huddles closer to Solomon for warmth, but at the same time, her hand reaches across Solomon’s chest to touch Jiaoying’s leg.

Solomon held both women in each arm as he slept. His body had finally returned to normal after the climax of the last round, and now he seemed no different from an ordinary young man.

’Or maybe a grizzly bear…’

Jiaoying smirks as she pokes Solomon’s jawline.

He does not wake at the sensation, but he does instinctively pull her closer before settling back into a deeper sleep.

His actions are sobering for Jiaoying.

Noble ladies gossiped about the knight commander taking a lover. Noble men made crude jokes about her husband finally discovering her ’real’ gender.

None of the rumors lasted very long. Not when someone actually managed to ask Jiaoying’s ex-husband why he had chosen to leave her.

’She is a monster unfit for life. Never associate my name with hers again.’

Jiaoying had been stigmatized in the capital ever since. Her name had always inspired fear within foreign nations, but now she was the subject of dread amongst the very people she protected.

In that regard, being here was actually a bit of a vacation for Jiaoying. It had been five years now since she’d gotten to engage in friendly conversations with other people.

But what’s more, it was the first time in years she had been looked at as an object of physical desire.

Jiaoying felt a familiar itch spread throughout her lower body.

Somehow, she doubted very seriously that they would wake up tomorrow and forget this as agreed.

Once again, she poked Solomon and Yari in the jaw, watching their reactions the same way that a newborn might find itself fascinated by a rattle.

’They certainly are charming, aren’t they…?’

Jiaoying felt her entire body stiffen at the sudden voice.

Her mind darkened.

Her medicine. How could she be stupid enough to forget it?

Immediately, Jiaoying reaches out to shake Yari awake, but she is beset by a most dreadful vision.

Her hands are no longer her own. They are dreadful weapons with long black claws and egregiously powerful muscles lying underneath a sheen of blue skin.

Jiaoying is quick to pull her hand away.

She blinks so hard that her eyeballs are nearly crushed.

When she opens her eyes again, her hand is completely normal, but she knows full well that she is not hallucinating.

Jiaoying clutches her head with tears in her eyes.

’No, no, no, no, no… please, just let me be! I’ll make you another offering later, just not these two!’ She pleads.

The shadows in the room seem to speak to her in anger.

’You do not get to decide that. Not this time. You denied me once weeks ago. I will be sated tonight.’

Jiaoying starts to scream, but the sound does not come out.

Her eyes roll into the back of her head, and she sits up abruptly.

For more than thirty seconds, she sits in place, twitching infrequently.

But then, her eyes refocus.

Only… they are no longer hers.

They have an infernal orange glow that is so different from Jiaoying’s soft, beautiful gold.

Jiaoying moves from her place on the bed.

Her nude form straddles Solomon’s.

Playfully, she grinds against his genitalia while smiling to herself.

“Such a sweet man… with a mighty weapon to boot~… I’m afraid that even if you don’t know it, you may already have her heart.”

Without warning, Jiaoying plunges her hand into Solomon’s chest.

“So you don’t mind giving me yours… do you?”

Solomon wakes abruptly; his eyes flashing with pain.

When he sees Jiaoying looming above him in the dark, his pain instantly gives way to confusion.

“…Who… are you..?”

’Jiaoying’ smiles.

Before Solomon can stop her, she rips his heart out of his chest with ease.

Solomon screams from the pain, waking Yari.

Horror instantly shows up on her face when she realizes the situation.

A blue power appears in her palm, but a clawed hand reaches out to grab her by the jaw.

“None of that, tree wench. If you so much as twitch I’ll crush this pretty face of yours… and that would be a real shame for little Jiao. She hasn’t even gotten to sit on it yet.”

Yari’s eyes harden.

She hated this. She was in the absolute worst situation possible.

Yari was an ingenious conjurer.

The various pieces of jewelry she wore were all enchanted with different effects. Her piny ring made her skin harder to pierce. Her choker practically quadrupled her physical strength. Her earrings doubled the speed and range of her spells.

Yari had removed all of her jewelry before they had sex. She did not even have Nereid’s binding stone on her.

She was practically helpless.

Solomon did not understand what was going on, but he did know Yari was in danger, and that was more than enough for him to act.

Drawing his fist back, he swung to strike her.

’Jiaoying’ used her elbow and knocked away his punch; shattering every bone in his fist in the process.

“Bad boy. That’s not…”

Her eyes narrowed sharply as she saw the hole in Solomon’s chest begin to close. The bones in his hand are also putting themselves back together.

She turns to stare at him with a look of incredulity.

She says something that he can’t understand before she lifts his heart and takes a bite out of it. Blood spatters onto her exposed chest.

Solomon tries to shove the entity off of him while she’s distracted. He can’t even budge her.

After she eats the last of his heart, currents of red electricity run across her body and her eyes roll back into her head.

“Oh, father… That’s the stuff..!”

She lets go of Yari, but the elf doesn’t bother making a move.

Everything is already over.

Jiaoying’s eyes are her own again. Only this time, they are marred by hurt.

Her mouth is filled with blood. She can feel some of the finer tissues of Solomon’s heart still stuck in her teeth.

Her alter was not kind to her tonight.

She watched and felt everything.

Tears well in her eyes as she holds her trembling hands over Solomon’s chest.

The wound has already healed, but the blood on his body still remains.

Solomon sits up, and his arms immediately reach for her.

“DON’T!” Jiaoying backs away. “Don’t touch me!”

Solomon doesn’t listen. He wraps one arm around Jiaoying’s waist and cups her face in his hand.

“Are you alright..? What just happened to you?!”

Jiaoying pushes his arms away instantly and tries to get up. “Listen to me for once, you bastard, you need to-”

Solomon grabs her by the wrist and yells back at her. “I’ll listen to you if you tell me what just happened!”

Yari raises her hand as if she is going to slap him.

Solomon does not blink, nor does he flinch at the impending assault.

He can feel it in his bones with absolute certainty. If he lets Jiaoying go here, he will never see her face again.

That is an outcome that he would do anything to avoid.

Solomon would not lose anyone ever again.

“I think…” Yari began.

The elf slowly got out of bed and placed her hands on both of their shoulders.

“Maybe now is the time for us to get into the bath… and perhaps get to know each other a little bit better.”
