The silence in the basement of the Spire was no longer empty. It was heavy with the weight of an ancient, suffocating power.

Lom stood frozen at the threshold of the hidden chamber. Maya, his shadow servant, stood just ahead of him, her form flickering like a candle in a gale.

Even with his high-tier demonic senses, Lom couldn’t see a single inch in front of his face. The darkness here wasn’t a lack of light; it was a physical barrier that rejected the very concept of vision.

“Maya,” Lom whispered, his hand tightening on the hilt of his concealed blade.

“It’s… it is just like the forbidden records,” Maya managed to choke out, her knees buckling. “The shape… the origin of all sin.”

“Explain it!” Lom snapped, his patience fraying under the tension.

“Master… it’s a hand,” Maya whispered. “A giant, cosmic hand made of absolute darkness, dotted with swirling white nebulae. It… it looks identical to the depictions of the Void Mother’s hands. But… but something is wrong.”

Lom’s heart hammered against his ribs. The hand of Void Mother? Here? Beneath the Spire of the Demon Lords?

But before he could process the thought, the darkness shifted. The giant hand began to fold in on itself, the cosmic particles swirling into a dense, terrifying vortex.

Within seconds, the hand had vanished, replaced by a towering, cosmic humanoid form.

“Master… it’s a male,” Maya whispered, her eyes locked on the figure. “It cannot be the Void Mother.”

The entity was a masterpiece of cosmic architecture. His body was sculpted with muscles that seemed to hold the weight of multiverses. His face was a symmetrical perfection that would make the most beautiful God green with envy, framed by hair and a mustache that flowed like liquid starlight.

The figure snapped his fingers.

The absolute darkness that had suffocated the room vanished. Bright, warm light flooded the basement, revealing the figure in all his terrifying glory.

Lom didn’t wait for a command. Every instinct he possessed, honed through centuries of treachery and survival, told him to submit.

He threw himself to the floor, kneeling and bowing until his forehead touched the cold stone.

“Long time no see, Lom,” the entity said. His voice was like a choir of stars, resonant and filled with a playful, underlying menace. “You may not know me, but I know everything about you. Every secret, every lie, every hidden thought.”

Lom’s breath hitched. “H-how? My talent…”

Lom possessed the SS-Grade Talent. It was his pride and joy, a passive ability that made his soul an unreadable book. No appraisal pearl, no divine eye, and no mental magic had ever been able to glean a single piece of information from him without his permission. He was a ghost in the reality.

“Your talent?” The entity chuckled, the sound echoing through the hall. “A petty trick, Lom. A child’s toy. In front of the Nihilium, your talent is just an open book.”

Lom felt a wave of genuine panic. If his talent was useless, he was naked. He was defenseless.

“Who are you?” Lom finally asked, his voice trembling.

“I am Verion, of the Nihilium Clan,” the figure replied, looking down with an amused gaze.

“Nihilium Clan?” Lom repeated, his mind racing. “I have never heard of such a name. Not in the records of the Gods, nor the Demons.”

“What it is… let me explain it from the beginning,” Verion said. He snapped his fingers again.

Immediately, a luxurious round table and three chairs manifested out of thin air. They weren’t made of wood or stone, but of light.

“Sit,” Verion commanded as he took his seat. With a flick of his wrist, a bottle of translucent wine and a bowl of shimmering fruit appeared.

Lom sat, his movements stiff. Maya followed suit, but as she reached for a chair, she noticed something. Verion had manifested two cups, but there was no third.

As soon as she sat down, Verion snapped his fingers a third time.

He didn’t create anything materialistic. Instead, he manifested the very Concept of Sleep.

The law hit Maya with the force of a falling mountain. Her eyes rolled back, and she slumped onto the table, falling into a slumber so deep that even the end of the multiverse wouldn’t wake her.

Lom tensed, but he didn’t protest. He understood. The secrets about to be shared were not for just anyone….

“The Nihilium Clan is one of the strongest lineages in the Real Void,” Verion began, pouring himself a glass of wine.

“The place you currently inhabit, this entire multiverse, the Demon Realm, the City of Gods, is just a bubble. A tiny pocket of reality resting inside the being of a Nihilium Royal.”

Lom felt as if the world had tilted on its axis. “Real void? A… bubble?”

“Yes,” Verion said, reading the fractured thoughts in Lom’s mind. “You understand the words, but you refuse to accept the scale. Your entire history is a speck of dust in the eye of a giants like us.”

“But… The Void Mother?” Lom stammered. “We were told she created everything. But it always amazed me that why she didn’t stop the war between Gods and Demons. Is everything in this bubble really created by her?”

“I cannot speak of the hierarchy to a mere lifeform of the bubble,” Verion said, “which is why I made the girl sleep. But since you are special, I will tell you this: the Demon Lords and the Demonic Realm were not created by some accidental explosion of energy or by Void Mother. I created them. I am the architect of your chaos.”

“Why?” Lom asked, his head spinning. “Why do the Lords not know you? Why are you hiding?”

“Because currently, me and the Void Mother, or Sansa, as I prefer, are amidst a war,” Verion replied, his eyes flashing with a cold, cosmic fire. “A war for the future.”

“A war for what?”

“For the succession,” Verion whispered, leaning in. “Listen carefully, Lom. There exists a King over us all, the Emperor of the Real Void: King Zero. He has lived for quadrillions of years, a being who birthed the laws of existence itself.”

Lom listened, forgetting even to breathe.

“But King Zero is dying,” Verion continued. “He was injured by an enemy from the Beyond. And the Heavens, as they say, are fair. If an Emperor falls, a new one must be born. According to the Prophecy of the Void, a few Royal Clan members will find a few Chosen Ones in the void, and one of these Chosen ones is going to become the next void emperor”

“I used all my resources,” Verion said, his voice dropping to a low growl. “I nearly burned my own life force to prophesize which Royal would be the one to host the next Emperor. Which bubble would contain the seedling of the next King of Everything.”

Lom felt a cold chill run down his spine. The dots were connecting, forming a picture that was too terrifying to contemplate.

“And now…” Verion grinned, a sharp, jagged expression. “You can guess who that host is.”

Lom’s mouth went dry. “Void Mother… Sansa…. she is the one carrying the next King.”

Verion’s grin widened. “And that, Lom, is why I am here. And why you, the chosen one of void that i found, are going to help me steal it, so that you can become the next Void Emperor.”

“I have been watching her Chosen One,” Verion added, his eyes turning toward the distant City of Gods. “The one they call Cosmos. I saw him in the prophecy too…. If we don’t intervene he will become the void emperor, and you would die as a stepping stone.”

Lom looked at Verion and realized that the war between Gods and Demons was nothing more than a children’s game compared to the cosmic heist Verion was planning.

“What do you want me to do?” Lom asked, his voice barely a whisper.

“It’s simple,” Verion replied, his hand glowing with a dark, reality-warping energy.

“But first you should know your powers as a chosen one of the void” Verion said, as he placed his finger on the forehead of Lom.

Immediately the energy gathered in his hand began to enter the body of Lom, evolving his dormant powers within.

“All the chosen one of the void were born with unimaginable power… Powers that can change the very foundation of everything”

“You know Edgar? He is a chosen one too, he nearly killed his parents when he was born…. Thus it was decided that every chosen one will have their powers sealed until they are good enough to control it” He whispered into the ears of Lom.

“And right now, I am lifting the seal that i placed on you…. My child you are going to be reborn, you will have to reach even higher than me” Verion whispered as he vanished from the basement without telling Lom what to do. As if conveying that he is just a viewer and have no interest in participating in the game of Throne.
