“He isn’t here, you say?” Sunny repeated, his voice smooth as silk but carrying the weight of a descending mountain.

He didn’t wait for an answer. His gaze, piercing through the cosmic mask, locked onto the swirling mass of darkness that was collapsing on itself.

It continued to do so for a minute or so, stretching and contorting until it mimicked a humanoid figure.

Kairos and Mongo panicked instantly. This wasn’t the heroic rescue they had envisioned. The very darkness that formed their protection was being used to manifest their master’s avatar.

The Pearl of Calamity shivered and dissolved, its body sacrificed to give Lom a projection to speak with Sunny.

“They are my slaves, Cosmos,” Lom stated, his tone sharpening.

Sunny didn’t even blink. “You were the one who wished to offer a deal to me. This is my territory, my palace, and my laws. You are an intruder, Lom. You don’t make demands at my table. You abide by my terms.”

Sunny should have been scared of offending such a being who could even escape his God’s eye, but seeing that Lom was just a projection, Sunny decided to not show any mercy to him.

He didn’t even care about any revenge from Lom, as he will be etching the entire multiverse into his hands, and escaping the clutches of the demon lords.

Sunny didn’t wait for a rebuttal. He snapped his fingers.

A violet-gold flame erupted from within the chests of Kairos and Mongo. It wasn’t a fire that burned the skin; it was a fire that consumed the soul.

“COSMOS!!!” Lom screamed, his avatar lunging forward, but he was too late.

The flames flared for a fraction of a second and then vanished, leaving nothing behind but two piles of gray ash that scattered across the pristine floor.

Two Gods, who had spent a long time mastering the darkness and time, were erased as if they were mere ink blots on a page.

“Oops,” Sunny said with a small, unrepentant chuckle. “My hand slipped.”

He expected the title to spark curiosity, to make Sunny lean forward and ask about the prophecy.

Instead, Sunny just stared at him, as if reading his mind and with an expression of mild boredom he said, “Titles are for people who need to prove something. Get to the point.”

Lom gritted his teeth. “I came here today so that you can save yourself. I am offering you a path to survival.”

“Save me?” Sunny whispered, his tone mocking. “From what? From you?”

“Yes, save you,” Lom countered. “Let me ask you something first. Are you planning on leaving this multiverse in a few years?”

Sunny’s eyes narrowed. “So what if I am? And what if I’m not? My travel plans aren’t open for public discussion.”

“Nothing much,” Lom said, a small smile returning to his face. “Only that if you leave, you should be careful. Six Demon Lords are currently waiting for you just outside the bubble’s edge. They have anchored their rest place to the place that you would be passing through in the future. As for Belial, even as we speak, he is gathering an army of two thousand Demon Gods to break into this sanctuary.”

Lom waited for the panic. He expected Sunny to demand a way out, to ask for Lom’s help in bypassing the blockade.

Instead, Sunny started to smirk. It grew into a full, dark grin.

“If that was the only thing you wished to tell me,” Sunny said, “then you have wasted two of your spies, this entire meeting, and, worst of all, you wasted my quality time with my girlfriend. You deserve death just for that crime.”

Lom’s jaw practically dropped. “You… you aren’t listening. Two thousand Gods! Seven Lords! You are surrounded!”

“And?” Sunny asked, his voice filled with a chilling confidence. “I know I can’t kill your real body today, as this is just a projection. So, if you don’t have anything else to say, return to the hole you crawled out of. I have a multiverse to manage.”

Lom looked at the Emperor and realized that the threat of the Demon Lords was insufficient. This man wasn’t just brave; he was operating on a level where ’numbers’ no longer mattered.

“Heh… if you aren’t scared of the Demon Lords,” Lom said, his avatar’s voice turning into a distorted, multi-tonal rasp.

“Then let’s step up the game. Let’s talk about something far more dangerous than Belial. Let’s talk about the entity that created the Demon Lords. The one who is currently looking at your ’bubble’ and wondering how to kill you…”

Lom leaned in, the Darkness of his face swirling.

“The Demon Lords are just the fever, Cosmos. But the Nihilium? They are the plague. And they have already marked you as their next meal.”
