Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Flesh Reclamation Pit (part 1)
Then his gaze dropped to the bottom of the screen.
Gold coins.
Around two thousand.
This time, he actually smiled a little.
“That’s a lot better than three hundred.”
The memory of the watchtower draining his coins so quickly was still fresh. Now, at least, he had room to work with.
His eyes lifted once more, stopping at his class.
Necromancer.
Death God locked.
Aiden stared at it for a few seconds longer than everything else.
“…Still locked.”
There was no frustration in his voice.
Aiden stared at the empty space where the screen had just disappeared, his thoughts lingering on that one line longer than anything else.
Death God. Locked.
“…I still have no idea how to unlock it,” he muttered under his breath.
Even now, that part remained a complete mystery to him.
He leaned back slightly, his gaze unfocused as old memories surfaced.
That class… he didn’t get it in any normal way.
It was a drop.
From a secret boss.
Aiden’s eyes narrowed faintly as he recalled that fight, the chaos, he died multiple times killing the boss. Back then, no one even knew what the reward of a secret boss would be, only that it had to be something insane.
And it was.
“…A class drop,” he said quietly.
Something that shouldn’t even exist under normal rules.
Something that, as far as he knew, only few had ever obtained.
“In the entire game… I was one of the lucky ones.”
There was no pride in his voice, just a calm statement of fact.
Because he knew exactly how ridiculous that class was.
The skills it gave him were beyond anything a normal class could offer. Even back then, when everyone was already at max level, he could fight against hundred of players at once and still come out on top.
Not because he was stronger in raw stats.
But because his abilities simply didn’t play by the same rules.
“…And it’s still locked,” he murmured, clicking his tongue softly.
For now, it was nothing more than potential.
Untapped power.
Aiden let out a slow breath, pushing those thoughts aside.
There was no point dwelling on something he couldn’t control yet.
Instead, he raised his hand again.
The translucent screen appeared once more, but this time, he shifted to a different tab.
“Building system.”
The interface changed instantly, lines of options and blueprints appearing in front of him, each one neatly categorized with descriptions and costs.
He leaned forward slightly, his interest returning.
“…Let’s see what I can get with two thousand.”
His eyes moved across the list as he scrolled, taking his time.
[Graveyard Expansion
Allows faster corpse generation over time and improves the quality of naturally formed undead materials.
Cost: 300 gold coins]
[Bone Pit
A processing ground where bones are gathered, refined, and strengthened, increasing the durability of skeletal summons.
Cost: 400 gold coins]
[Corpse Storage Vault
Preserves bodies from decay, allowing long term storage for future use or experimentation.
Cost: 350 gold coins]
[Rotting Field
A cursed land that accelerates decomposition, producing materials for plague based or decay type undead.
Cost: 450 gold coins]
[Bone Workshop
Allows modification and reinforcement of undead units, improving their combat effectiveness.
Cost: 700 gold coins]
Aiden’s eyes moved calmly across the list at first, weighing cost against usefulness, already narrowing down what he needed most.
Then he stopped.
“…What’s this?”
His gaze settled on a blueprint that looked almost ordinary compared to the others, but the description beneath it made him lean forward slightly, his expression turning serious.
He read it again, slower this time.
[Flesh Reclamation Pit
A dark ritual structure that allows the user to convert fresh corpses into undead units regardless of race, as long as the target is not already undead. The process binds necrotic energy into the remains, forcing reanimation through artificial means rather than direct summoning.
Undead created through this structure retain fifty percent of the original body’s strength, along with fragments of their physical capability, making them significantly stronger than basic summons but inferior to fully controlled high grade undead.
Only low level undead can be produced, but the efficiency and low cost of creation allow for rapid army expansion.
Cost: 1000 gold coins]
Aiden didn’t move for a few seconds.
Then, slowly, he leaned forward.
“…So I don’t even need to personally raise them.”
His eyes sharpened, the implications becoming clearer with every passing second.
Up until now, every undead he created required his direct involvement, his mana, his focus. Even with his skills, there was always a limit to how much he could do at once.
But this…
“This changes things.”
He stood up, pacing slowly as his mind began to move faster.
“Any corpse… human, beast, any race…”
As long as it wasn’t undead.
That meant battlefields, executions, even natural deaths, all of it could become resources.
Nothing would go to waste.
A faint smile formed on his lips, colder this time.
“And they keep half of their original strength…”
That was not weak.
Not at all.
For ordinary people, losing half their strength would make them useless, but for trained fighters, for body tempering practitioners, even half of what they once had was still far beyond normal.
And the most important part…
“It doesn’t drain me.”
Aiden stopped walking.
He turned his head slightly, looking at the interface again, his gaze steady.
“This is mass production.”
Not quality.
But quantity backed with decent strength.
An army that could grow without exhausting him.
He let out a quiet breath, his decision already forming.
“This one is a must.”
For the first time since opening the building system, there was no hesitation in his eyes.
The battlefield from earlier flashed in his mind again, the number of bodies he got from the battle.
The moment the decision settled, he confirmed the purchase. The gold coins in his balance dropped instantly, and in their place, a faint pulse of dark light spread across the interface before fading.
For a brief second, everything went still.
Then the system responded.
