Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Graveknit
He walked toward the window, his cloak swaying slightly behind him.
Outside, the undead citizens of the town were still wandering around, adjusting to their strange new existence. Zombies shuffled slowly through the streets. Skeletons carried tools and moved debris away from the roads. Wraiths drifted silently above rooftops.
And now, the true soldiers of death had appeared.
Aiden looked back at his summoned undead.
“Spread out,” he ordered calmly.
“Guard the villa.”
Immediately, the skeleton soldiers began to move.
Some marched down the hallway and out the front entrance. Others climbed the outer walls of the villa and took positions on rooftops and balconies.
The bronze-grade undead moved more deliberately.
Vayne stepped outside and took position near the front gate, standing like an unmoving statue of death.
Bone Fist walked to the courtyard, watching the entrance.
Skullbreaker moved toward the rear of the estate, silently guarding the back gate.
Within minutes, the entire villa was surrounded by undead guards.
Aiden watched them through the window with quiet satisfaction.
“If someone attacks this town…”
He rested his elbow against the window frame.
“…they’ll be greeted properly.”
The night wind blew through the empty streets.
In the distance, the Dark Mana Fountain continued to pulse with dark energy.
Skeleton soldiers patrolled the roads.
Wraith maids floated through the villa halls.
Zombie citizens slowly repaired buildings and cleared debris.
And powerful undead warriors guarded the lord of the territory.
Aiden looked over the darkened town.
Then he smiled faintly.
“If anyone from outside sees this place…”
He spoke quietly to himself.
“They’ll probably think this town is the home of demonic beings.”
Under the pale moonlight, the town truly looked like something from a nightmare.
A kingdom of the dead.
After watching his undead spread throughout the villa and the town, Aiden returned to the large chair near the bed. The room had become quiet again, the only sound being the faint wind outside the window.
He raised his hand and opened the system interface once more.
The familiar screen appeared in front of him.
Aiden went straight to the Gacha System.
The circular interface slowly spun into view, glowing faintly with dark blue light. Symbols and runes floated around the edge of the screen, just like he remembered from the game.
A line of text appeared below it.
Cost per pull: 1,000 Gold Coins
Current Gold Coins: 2,583
Aiden leaned back slightly.
“So I can use it twice.”
He stared at the spinning gacha circle for a moment.
“Let’s see what I can get.”
Without hesitating, he pressed the pull button.
The circle immediately began spinning.
Dark light gathered in the center of the interface, swirling faster and faster like a vortex. Strange symbols flashed one after another as if the system was searching for something.
Then the spinning suddenly stopped.
A new panel appeared.
[Undead Obtained: Graveknit
Species Description:
Graveknits are undead stitched together from multiple small bones and fragments of corpses. Their bodies look crudely woven with black necromantic threads.
Powers & Abilities:
Bone Stitch – Slowly repairs cracks and damage in its body.
Grasping Limbs – Extra bone fragments can extend to grab enemies.
Servant Instinct – Excellent for guarding or restraining targets.]
Aiden raised an eyebrow slightly.
“Graveknit…”
The moment the gacha result appeared, dark mist began to gather in the room.
The mist slowly condensed a few steps in front of him.
Bones appeared first.
But unlike a normal skeleton, this creature looked… strange.
Its body was made from different fragments of bones, some too small, some too large, all crudely stitched together with thin strands of black necromantic thread. Pieces of ribs were woven across its torso like armor, and several extra bone shards hung loosely from its arms.
Its body looked unstable.
Yet somehow, it stood upright.
When the creature finished forming, it immediately lowered its head and knelt.
“My lord,” it said in a raspy voice.
Aiden studied it carefully.
The Graveknit slowly lifted its head, revealing hollow eye sockets glowing with faint dark light.
Aiden tilted his head slightly.
“Do you have a name?” he asked.
The creature immediately shook its head.
“No, my lord.”
Its voice sounded humble, almost ashamed.
“A low-level undead such as myself does not deserve a name.”
Aiden stared at it for a moment.
Then he shrugged slightly.
“Fair enough.”
He stood up from the chair and walked around the creature once, observing its strange stitched body.
“Well,” he said casually.
“If you don’t have a name, then I’ll just call you by your species.”
The creature bowed its head again.
“This servant understands.”
Aiden nodded.
He leaned back in his chair and opened his status window again.
The familiar screen appeared before his eyes.
His gaze moved toward the summon list.
Basic-grade undead: 19.
Bronze-grade undead: 10.
Aiden frowned slightly.
“…That’s strange.”
He scanned the list again, but the Graveknit wasn’t there.
Instead, something new had appeared lower on the screen.
Subordinates: 1
Aiden raised an eyebrow.
“Subordinates?”
That was definitely new.
He closed the status window and looked back at the creature kneeling in front of him.
“Stand up,” Aiden said.
The Graveknit immediately obeyed, rising slowly to its feet. Up close, its body looked even stranger. Pieces of bone from different bodies had been stitched together with black threads of necromantic energy, forming something that looked crude but surprisingly stable.
Aiden crossed his arms.
“How strong are you?”
The Graveknit lowered its head respectfully before answering.
“My lord, if I were to compare my strength to the warriors of this world…”
It paused for a moment.
“I would be roughly equal to a peak body tempering practitioner.”
Aiden blinked once.
Then he let out a small whistle.
“Oh.”
A faint smile appeared on his face.
“Then you’re actually very useful to me right now.”
But something else caught Aiden’s attention.
He could feel the connection between him and his undead summons, the skeleton soldiers, the bronze-grade undead, all of them.
They constantly consumed a small amount of his mana.
But the Graveknit…
Nothing.
Not even a drop.
Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly as he realized something.
