Chapter 74: Chapter 74: The End Of Dustwind Clan
The battle quickly turned into something far more brutal than the warriors of the Dustwind Clan had expected.
Steel clashed against steel. Fists struck like hammers. The street trembled under the force of Body Tempering practitioners fighting with everything they had.
At first glance, the Dustwind practitioners seemed stronger.
Their movements were sharper. Their strikes carried more experience. Each of them had trained for years, fighting bandits and surviving countless battles.
But the longer the fight continued, the stranger it became.
Bone Fist was trading blows with a broad-shouldered practitioner whose sword moved like a flash of silver. The man slashed across Bone Fist’s ribs, leaving a deep wound that would have crippled an ordinary fighter.
But Bone Fist didn’t even slow down.
He stepped forward and threw a punch straight at the man’s face.
The practitioner barely raised his arm in time.
BAM!
The force pushed him back several steps.
“What the hell…?” the man muttered under his breath.
He had clearly cut deep.
But the wound on Bone Fist’s body was already closing.
From the rooftop not far away, Aiden watched calmly.
A faint green glow flickered across Bone Fist’s body.
His undead were far stronger now than they had been before. Their skins were tougher, their movements faster, and the death energy flowing through them constantly reinforced their bodies.
And if they were injured.
Aiden simply lifted his hand slightly.
A thin thread of dark mana stretched from him to the battlefield.
The wound on Bone Fist’s side closed completely.
The practitioner’s eyes widened.
“Impossible…”
Bone Fist answered with another punch.
CRACK.
The man was thrown backward into the dirt.
Not far away, Skullbreaker was fighting another practitioner who wielded twin blades.
The man moved fast, slicing across Skullbreaker’s arm and shoulder again and again.
But Skullbreaker didn’t retreat.
He simply stepped forward and swung his heavy weapon.
The practitioner dodged the first swing easily.
But the second came faster.
CLANG!
The impact nearly tore the swords from the man’s hands.
Skullbreaker raised his weapon again.
Even as cracks ran across his arm, the bones slowly repaired themselves.
High above the battlefield, Aiden watched with quiet satisfaction.
“Good choice,” he murmured to himself.
The passive skill that strengthened his undead had made a huge difference. Before, his Bronze-grade summons would have been overwhelmed quickly.
Now they could hold their ground.
Even against stronger opponents.
And if they were pushed too far.
He simply healed them.
His mana flowed quietly through the invisible link between him and his undead.
Meanwhile, at the center of the battlefield, the fight between Roderic and Vayne had become the most intense clash of all.
Roderic swung his blade in a powerful downward arc.
Vayne blocked it easily.
CLANG!
The shock of the impact cracked the stone beneath their feet.
Roderic immediately twisted his sword and slashed again toward Vayne’s side.
Vayne stepped aside with calm precision and countered with a straight thrust.
Roderic barely parried the strike.
The force pushed him back again.
His boots scraped against the stone as he slid several feet.
Roderic’s expression grew darker.
This man…
He was stronger.
Their swords collided again, sparks bursting into the air.
But this time, Roderic felt the difference clearly.
Vayne’s strength was overwhelming.
Every strike carried terrifying force. Every movement was efficient, precise.
The battle dragged on for nearly an hour, and by the end of it, the Dustwind Clan was clearly losing.
The once orderly plaza had turned into a battlefield filled with broken stone, blood, and scattered weapons. The air was thick with the smell of iron, and the terrified screams of civilians had long since faded. Those who could run had already fled.
What remained were the warriors of the Dustwind Clan, and Aiden’s relentless undead.
The basic-grade skeletons pushed forward without fear. They didn’t hesitate, didn’t tire, and didn’t feel pain. Even when a sword shattered their ribs or a spear cracked their skulls, they simply kept moving until their bones finally collapsed.
A Dustwind warrior roared as he hacked his blade into a skeleton’s shoulder.
“Die already!”
The skeleton didn’t even react.
Its empty eye sockets stared at him as its rusted sword pierced straight through his stomach.
The man’s roar turned into a choking gasp.
Around the plaza, similar scenes repeated again and again. The clan’s normal warriors were slowly being overwhelmed. One by one they fell beneath the shields and swords of the skeletal soldiers.
From a distance, Aiden watched the battlefield with calm eyes.
He stood on the roof of a nearby building, his cloak fluttering slightly in the wind. The chaos below reflected clearly in his dark pupils.
His gaze shifted toward the stronger fighters.
The body tempering practitioners.
Bone Fist was locked in a brutal exchange with one of them. The Dustwind warrior smashed his fist into Bone Fist’s skull, cracking the bone.
But Bone Fist didn’t retreat.
Instead, it grabbed the man’s arm with inhuman strength and slammed its own fist into the warrior’s face.
The crack of bone echoed loudly.
Not far away, Skullbreaker swung its heavy club in a wide arc, forcing its opponent back step after step.
Another undead lost an arm during the fight, but even with only one arm left, it continued swinging its sword wildly, forcing the Dustwind practitioner to retreat.
Then…a spear pierced through the skeleton’s spine, shattering it completely.
The undead collapsed.
The Dustwind practitioner who killed it panted heavily.
“Finally—”
Before he could finish his words, another undead lunged forward and drove a blade into his chest.
Meanwhile, the fight between Vayne and Roderic has come to an end.
Roderic’s armor was cracked, and blood ran down the side of his face. His breathing had grown rough and uneven.
Vayne, on the other hand, was still the same.
The undead swordsman stepped forward and slashed.
Roderic barely raised his sword in time.
Clang!
The impact forced him to stagger back several steps.
“You damn demonic being!” Roderic roared.
He swung his blade with all his strength, but Vayne easily dodged and countered with another strike.
