A stream of lightning surged toward Ren as he whipped out a kunai with a brand-new sealing tag and threw it toward it. The kunai and the lightning collided, and the kunai should have been instantly engulfed by the lightning, but instead, the lightning changed direction straight downward as it rushed into the ground until the attack completely vanished, causing the kunai to helplessly fall to the slightly charred ground after losing all of its kinetic energy.

Ren looked at Hinata and raised his eyebrow with a smirk, “Is that all?”

Hinata groaned. “You always have to pull out some bullshit seal that counters whatever we do, don’t you?” She unamusedly commented, not at all surprised that Ren had finally figured out how to no-sell her Lightning Release.

He had been complaining how hard it was becoming to fight her in spars, and that he was going to figure out a way to cheat for months now.

This was a long time coming.

“I am just that good!” Ren exclaimed and theatrically raised his nose slightly into the air to properly portray his perceived superiority.

Both Hinata and Ren watched with the corners of their eyes the energy saturation in the barrier seal around Ren that allowed for this banter. One of them, with a bit of trepidation as he calculated when he would need to move, while the other, with anticipation as she noticed the energy dispersing and tried to figure out the best timing to attack right after the barrier dropped.

Their eyes met, and Ren’s fingers twitched toward an exploding kunai, while Hinata kindly smiled.

“And do you believe you are the only one with a surprise today?” She innocently asked in a smugly satisfied tone, sending alarm bells through Ren’s head, but her palms suddenly clapped together.

“Mokuton!” Hinata spoke, and Ren’s eyes widened in a ‘What the fuck!?’ way. “Great Impalement!”

Wooden spikes suddenly erupted from below Ren, thoroughly skewering him with brutal efficiency only a medical ninja could deliver as each spike embedded itself through a major organ or artery.

The stupefied and skewered Ren suddenly popped out of existence in a puff of smoke, and the self-satisfied Hinata turned her head to the side, where the real Ren resurfaced from the ground, giving her a miffed look.

“Mokuton? Really?” He blandly asked, a bead of sweat going down his forehead as he inwardly shivered at the memories from his skewered shadow clone.

That really wasn’t a pleasant way to go.

“How did you manage that?” He offhandedly asked as two new shadow clones were summoned under the ground and started moving toward Hinata’s position.

Hinata just raised her right arm, and with her other hand, she unrolled her sleeve. Her arm below the stitches on her wrist was completely pale white to an inhuman degree.

Ren blinked, and his mouth opened a bit as his mind stuttered when he realized what she had done. He grimaced.

She had cut off her entire arm, sewn an arm grown from Hashirama cells to her shoulder, then cut off a hand from it, and then severed her hand from her original arm before sewing that to her Hashirama arm. All of that just to surprise him right now.

Sometimes, he really wondered where he had gone wrong with the girl.

“But that’s not all!” Hinata happily informed Ren, whose eyes widened as he felt his shadow clones in the ground disperse, and roots suddenly popped out of the ground around him, snapping toward him with the intent to bind him with a lethal amount of squeezing.

He grunted and activated his intangibility seal, letting the roots pass through him before he slipped out of their reach and threw another kunai with a sealing tag toward Hinata, who had blocked it with a wall of wood before it could get anywhere close to her.

The kunai sank into the wood, and the seal activated with a flash of chakra…

Yet, nothing had seemed to change.

Ren hummed. Hinata blinked as she felt a small change in her mokuton wood, and she gave Ren an incredulous look. “Did you just turn my wood into… wood?” She asked in a flabbergasted tone.

“Hey, don’t look at me that way.” Ren chuckled and shrugged. “I was just curious what it would do if I used a wood transmuting seal on a wooden construct!”

It was the newest transmutation seal he was making right now because Suna really, but really needed wood for many things, and they did not have good access to it.

Besides, for all he knew, turning her mokuton wood into a normal wood could have taken away her control of it… which didn’t happen, but it totally could have!

“Right.” Hinata dryly noted, and their spar resumed.

A bit to the side of the grassy plains where Ren and Hinata fought, Ino was with Temari, helping the girl with her Wind Release training as she tried to make hotter winds.

“Aren’t their attacks a bit too brutal for a spar?” Temari nervously asked as she witnessed yet another of Ren’s shadow clones die. This time, by having his upper body crushed underneath the weight of a wooden tiger construct.

Ino, however, just uncaringly shrugged. “It has been this way ever since I remember, and Ren had never gotten hurt. We are already this strong, but he always pulls off some nonsense to beat us in a spar. It might not seem like it, but Hinata is quite frustrated. You can see it in how her forehead is slightly creased.”

“More importantly, focus back on your training!” Ino slapped Temari on the back, earning herself an irritated look, which only made her smirk.

Clicking her tongue, Temari’s gaze returned to her palms, and with a bit of focus, she created a ball of swirling winds in between them. That was the easy part. She started trying to affect their temperature, and let out a long whine as the technique resisted her efforts, causing her cheeks to grow red in exertion.

For the next twenty minutes, she was trying her best while Ino just patiently watched, throwing a barely useful comment here or there.

But contrary to Temari’s inner complaints, Ino did her best to be helpful. Unfortunately, this wasn’t something she could just guide the girl to accomplish. Temari’s chakra was ever so slightly different than Ino’s chakra. That’s how it worked for literally everyone. So, Ino had given her the general explanation on what to do, and the rest, the girl would have to figure out for herself and see how her chakra reacted before making adjustments to the process.

“Winner, Ren!” A voice of Ren’s clone suddenly exclaimed from the direction of the spar, and both Ino and Temari lifted their heads to look.

“Well, that can’t be pleasant.” Ino nonchalantly pointed out while Temari blanched upon seeing Hinata’s shoulder alongside her right arm, the one she had supposedly swapped for whatever allowed her to use Mokuton, if Ino’s haphazard explanation was to be believed, turned into glass.

Temari knew well enough that there was no ‘reverse’ process to that. Ren could not just undo it. Temari had asked. Once he turned something into glass, it was glass. He could turn it into something else, but reverting it was beyond his capabilities right now.

Temari watched in mute horror as Hinata broke off the glassy part of her shoulder and dropped it onto the ground alongside her entire right arm, so nonchalantly as if she didn’t just cripple her body.

Ren said something to Hinata that Temari could not hear, and the Hyuga girl suddenly lit up with happiness before she skipped toward him and gave him a deep kiss with a whole lot of tongue involved.

Ino chuckled beside Temari, getting her attention.

“Look at the bitch.” Ino rolled her eyes. “He probably praised her.” She explained with a measure of exasperation for Temari’s benefit after glancing at her before continuing to speak in a casual tone, “If you had any plans for Ren today, you’d better forget them. Once the bitch gets like that, she is going to hog him for the entire night by herself. They will each go and take a shower, while Hinata will also heal herself, and then, they will be lost to us until tomorrow afternoon, as Hinata will ride him until she orgasms herself dry, most likely in early morning tomorrow.”

Ino shrugged, but the flustered Temari wondered if she had heard the disgruntled undertone in Ino’s voice correctly. She was smart enough not to mention it, though.

Chuckling, Temari nodded. “Does that happen often?” She awkwardly motioned toward the house into which both Ren and Hinata disappeared.

“Oh? No?” Ino tilted her head and, with a small, startled laugh, she waved her hand in front of her face. “Not really. Hinata doesn’t… she doesn’t get like that often.
