Ren slowly opened his eyes as he roused from his slumber, and his lips relaxed into a fond smile as he saw the beautiful bare back of his sleeping girl in front of him.

Yesterday, after she came home, she seemed so tired that she was almost falling asleep on her feet. They had shared a nice dinner before opting to cuddle, hand in hand, in companionable silence on the couch. It was a very nice and peaceful evening.

Only after two hours, Temari regained some of her energy. Before they knew it, their cuddling evolved into kissing, and time lost its meaning for them. Their hands started to roam… and the next thing Ren knew, he had the laughing blonde girl over his shoulder as he carried her to the bedroom while she was squealing in expectant delight in between her bursts of excited giggling and kicking her feet back and forth.

The rest, as they say, was a very enjoyable history.

Ren slid closer to Temari on the bed, and his arm snaked around her abdomen as he kissed her bare shoulder, getting a drawn-out but sleepy “Mhmmm.” from her in return.

Somewhat encouraged by that sound, he trailed more kisses along her shoulder, and as he got closer to her neck, he noticed that she was subconsciously leaning her head to the side. His smile widened as his lips gently landed on the side of her neck.

With a groan, Temari fully woke up and suddenly moved, forcing Ren to move a bit back as she started to turn around. Once she was fully turned, they lay on the bed, facing each other with their noses almost touching.

Ren would be lying if he said his eyes did not slide down toward her bare chest that was right under his nose. But he at least tried keeping his gaze on her eyes.

It was hard.

His hand acted before his brain could command, moving from around her abdomen upward. Temari let out a small sigh and gave the unrepentant Ren an exasperated look as she felt her left breast being squeezed.

Ren shamelessly smirked at her, which made her huff.

“You still have energy after yesterday night?” Temari sulkily asked in a mock aggravation, but her teal eyes happily sparkled as Ren felt her jut her chest slightly forward.

Naturally, he took the silent invitation in the spirit it was given and fondled her chest some more. “I don’t know. Why don’t we try to find out together?” He offered and put his forehead against hers, enjoying the small blush that appeared on her face.

As he started to move his face closer to hers with a clear intent to kiss her, Temari suddenly shifted, and her hands pushed against his chest, toppling him on his back with a surprised yelp. She then moved, and before Ren knew it, he could feel her bare breasts squishing against his upper stomach as she lay her head on his chest.

“Nah. Tired!” Temari petulantly exclaimed while still slowly rubbing her cheek against Ren’s chest in bliss.

Ren glanced down at her, “Oh, is this how you want to play it?” He asked, his hand reaching toward her thigh that was conveniently raised so he could easily reach it.

As he squeezed it, Temari looked up and innocently said, “I don’t know what you are talking about.” But the cheeky grin on her face said a different story.

Ren’s arms moved, and he dragged her body up, enough to kiss her. Happily reciprocating, Temari lay her body on top of his as their tongues passionately danced. Ren’s hand landed on Temari’s posterior, squeezing, just as her fingers burrowed into his hair.

It was starting to get hot in the room when…

Kankuro barged into the room, “Oi! Sis, any idea where my cat pajaaaaaa-aaaah.” He rudely exclaimed, only to trail off in absolute horror as he saw his flushed and naked sister pressing her equally naked chest into the naked chest of her naked husband.

Kankuro’s brain froze as he stared at them. They stared back. The atmosphere in the room quickly became awkward, and the time seemed to freeze, too.

Just for a moment.

Gathering his wits again, Kankuro reacted first, “You know what? Never mind. Carry on.” He slowly nodded to himself before he woodenly turned around and walked out of the room with a forced smile.

Temari, looking like a deer caught in the headlights, turned her head back toward Ren, and he couldn’t handle it anymore. He burst into laughter.

Scowling, Temari pushed herself up, ending up straddling him as she sat up before she playfully slapped his chest. “It’s not funny!” She shouted before disgruntledly muttering under her nose, “Fucking Kankuro.”

Ren’s hands landed on her hips. “It was hilarious.” He sincerely said with a smile that made Temari inwardly swoon.

Blushing despite herself, Temari couldn’t help but feel as her lips smiled back. “Poor Kankuro.” She said with heavy sarcasm decorating her tone, “We scarred him for life! How will he get married now? You will have to take responsibility, sir!” She gleefully rubbed the tip of her finger into Ren’s chest.

Snorting, Ren pushed Temari to the side, causing her to fall back onto the bed with a small, startled shriek. Ren moved, looming above her.

“I am taking responsibility.” He cheekily said to Temari, who excitedly bit her lower lip.

“Yeah? And how?” She raised her chin and asked, trying to sound confident, but it came out somewhat shyly.

Ren’s eyes met hers, “Like this.” His hands gently gripped her knees and spread her legs, causing Temari’s eyes to widen as she gulped. Without any more prompting, her legs eagerly snaked around Ren’s hips.

Oh, yes, she liked this kind of ‘taking responsibility’!

After they both took loads and loads of responsibility in the morning, enough that Temari could not keep all that responsibility in her body without letting it overflow, they happily had a slightly lengthy shower together.

The following breakfast was a short affair. Temari was no longer all that hungry after the shower, so she spent most of it making eyes at Ren with a very suggestive body language that hinted at her willingness to be roughly taken on the kitchen table.

They had not been together for two weeks, and Ren realized the girl was undeniably thirsty after all that time. Even more than he was.

Unfortunately, all good things had to end. Temari was given one day off, and they both realized why. It was a common practice to give a ninja a free day before an important mission or… being deployed to war.

In the past week, Iwa was making some serious moves, and by now, their army was no doubt nearing the Land of Wind borders. It was time to go and form up the Sunagakure forces and prepare to intercept them. As the person given command over the Sunagakure’s war fan corps, Temari had to be one of the first on the scene to coordinate the construction of fortifications and whatnot.

Because of that, instead of dragging her back to bed as she desired, Ren dragged her to her usual training ground, much to her indignant protests. Only when he told her he had a surprise for her did she finally relent and stop halfheartedly complaining.

But of course, he had to promise her she could be on top tonight.

Ren inwardly rolled his eyes. Joke’s on her, he was into that shit. Having her on top was great. All that training over the years, swinging her heavy war fan gave her some delicious hips, and she definitely knew how to use them skillfully.

But he digressed. After reaching the training ground, Ren looked at Temari and chuckled at her barely restrained expectant look. She tried to hide it, but she was clearly very interested in what he wanted to show her.

With a puff of smoke, Ren took out a generic war fan from his seal and presented it to Temari. For a moment, she gave him a weird look before she realized something that made her gasp and squeal in utter girlish delight, like a little girl who had just gotten a pony on her birthday.

“You have finished it!?” Temari excitedly asked, almost restlessly bouncing on her feet due to her impatient eagerness.

She had waited for the new war fan weapon for months now! And she never expected to receive it anytime soon, either!

“Er… yes and no.” Ren awkwardly answered, feeling a little self-conscious about presenting her unfinished product. But the situation was what it was, so he pushed past his mental hang-ups. “It’s only partially finished, but with the war on the horizon, I thought this could give you an edge so you can return to me.”

Hearing that, Temari’s eagerness slightly dimmed, but her eyes softened, becoming full of affection.

Missing it, Ren gave the seals on the war fan one last check before handing it to Temari. “I want you to try it, so I can fine-tune it. I can apply the seals to your usual war fan easily after that. But just in case something goes wrong, using this one for tests should be better.”

“Don’t expect a massive jump in prowess, though,” Ren added, not at all happy to rain on her parade. But he needed to give her this warning.

“The seals should help you with increasing the temperature of your winds, making the process smoother and much easier for you. But the attack power of the techniques will still depend on you.” He apologetically shrugged.

They both knew Temari was not yet all that good with the temperature control in the wind release. But any increase in prowess was good.

Stepping forward, Temari gave Ren a quick hug before she took the war fan with slightly shaky hands. Glancing at Ren somewhat timidly, she had gotten a nod before he motioned with his head toward the vast, empty area of the training ground. Straightening up her back, Temari grinned and turned around, walking a few steps away from Ren before she grasped the war fan with both hands and fully opened it.

For a moment, she admired the seals painted all over it, before her gaze sharpened in anticipation. “Let’s see how good you are.” She whispered to the war fan, almost affectionately.

Taking a deep breath, Temari’s refined wind chakra flooded the weapon, molding into a technique near instantly with a practiced ease as she shouted, “Kamaitachi!” and swung her war fan.

The burst of sharp wind came out of her weapon as expected, except…

A quick roaring explosion unexpectedly reverberated through the training field as scorching heat spread out from the attack’s path and engulfed everything in the surroundings. The air near the attack was instantly flash-heated with an intense hiss, bursting with a thunderous shockwave that violently threw Temari and Ren backward, onto the ground.

They both felt the intense heat in the air on their skin, and Temari hissed as pain flooded her hands. Due to that, she didn’t even feel the impact of being thrown back. Still lying in the sand and wincing, she looked down at her trembling hands, feeling as if they were burned, but surprisingly, she had no burns.

She just felt… kind of like if she put her fingers into the candle flame for two seconds and then pulled back? Except, the feeling of heat and pain was not subsiding as quickly. It was disappearing, she could tell that much, but it was a very slow process.

Temari’s gaze turned weird. She knew she should have suffered severe burns from that. Yet, she… didn’t? She had no idea why.

A bit further behind her, Ren started to stand up with a pain-filled groan. Unlike Temari, despite standing farther from the attack, he did suffer some minor burns over his exposed skin. But more importantly, his mind was trying to figure the situation out.

This reaction was far, far more volatile and intense than what the seal did for him when he had a clone test it. So, what went wrong?

Raising his head, he looked forward, and his jaw almost dropped when he saw the sand in front of their position turned into glass for dozens and dozens of meters while the light above it was bending oddly due to the heat persisting in the air.

“Well…” Ren speechlessly muttered as he started standing up, “That was definitely not supposed to happen.”
