Chapter 11: Barseagle, the Radiator
“There are actually three of them.” Ian looked at the three big figures in the sky. “I don’t know how strong a higher werewolf is compared to a true vampire. And they could actually fly?”
The three gigantic figures were suspended in the sky, defying gravity. In the middle was a giant that towered everything, as huge as fifty meters, blocking the entire sky and casting a shadow that covered everyone’s vision.
On each shoulder of the giant, stood two werewolves with a body size of fifteen feet. This prompted Barseagle to put a fighting stance and said:
“Judging by their size. The one in the middle is the leader, a higher werewolf. On each side, on top of his shoulders, were true werewolves, something we can take care of.”
“The real problem seems to be their leader…” Daniel appeared emotional as he said this. His mouth is slightly tight, with the crease of his forehead tensed. “We can’t participate in this battle with our strength. At least, not meaningfully.”
Liz and Kate nodded at Daniel’s words, agreeing. “Though you’re right. We can at least play the role of pressure one of them with the three of us.” Kate said which prompted Liz to open his mouth to say: “That’s right. Actually, the gap between a true werewolf and a lesser vampire is indeed significant. But not to the point that the three of us can’t even hinder one.”
Hearing this, Daniel’s eyes lit up. He heard hope. It was enough for him. He believes that as long as there’s a straw of hope. “We can do it! The one who can make me despair hasn’t been born yet.”
“You surprisingly have balls this time.” Ian grinned. “Actually, you guys don’t need to be too worked up. Leave those two flies to me.”
“I know you’re strong. But to fight two true werewolves by yourself? Are you fucking nuts? Are you sure about that?”
Barseagle, with a dignified expression chimed in. “As for the higher werewolf. I’ll try to hold him. If I die, you guys escape…”
Just as Daniel was about to open his mouth. Barseagle glared at him. “I’m not joking. We are facing an opponent league above us this time. A higher werewolf. Compared to a true vampire like me, as you can see, higher werewolves broke the constraints. They obtained the ability to defy gravity with their bodies. As a result, their speed and strength are leagues above to those below them.
“And that is us…” Ian nodded as he showed his understanding. “Alright, so the feature of higher vampires and werewolves is that they achieve the ability to defy gravity.”
Barseagle nodded while Kate, Liz, and Daniel were full of awe.
Ian hid the underlying surprise within him and remained expressionless. However, if not for his companion, he would have already grinned ear to ear.
What is the concept of the ability to defy gravity? You can take off to the sky to fly like Superman. Achieve flight speed is even better than modern aircraft due to almost zero restraints from gravity. Speed and strength, hundred miles ahead of true and lesser ones.
Compared to lesser and true vampires/werewolves? Higher ones are what you can really call an entirely different species. A different breed of animal… Not the same beast!
Being able to defy gravity with your body to not being able to could make such a drastic difference in combat power. You can just kite those who can’t fly to death and escape with ease; they won’t be able to do anything about it without enough preparation.
…
“Hmmm… Based on the thickness of their blood. One is a true vampire. Wait… Isn’t that Barseagle, the Radiator?” Garry’s eyes squinted as he tried to etch Barseagle’s appearance on his mind and tried to recall a memory in the past.
Gradually, the figure of a warrior dripping with blood with his foot on a pile of true werewolf carcasses and a maniacal grin emerged in his mind. He tried to compare the middle-aged man’s calm appearance to the figure in his memory.
‘Their appearance, down to every detail certainly overlaps. Except for the longer hair and current demeanor. It seems he had calmed down after the war.’
“Barseagle, the Radiator?” One of the true werewolves on Garry’s shoulder, on the left, nodded:
“I have heard of his feats. In the last war, as a Lesser Vampire, he wiped out five true vampires without external help. His skill in combat earned him his reputation, and his strategic foresight allowed him to completely secure a victory for the vampire race on the famous Battle of the Worthy that happened in the Nanga Honored Valley.”
“Damn…” The one in the right shoulder couldn’t help but feel trepidation. However, it was only momentary as it quickly turned to mockery. “So what? We have sir Garry, the Walking Flare, with us! Among higher werewolves, sir Garry is the most renowned!” He looked at their leader with a fawning smile and smiling eyes.
“Indeed…” The one on the left also expressed his confidence.
Hearing his subordinates praise him. Garry’s eyes narrowed but his lips were curved slightly. “Stopped acting like licking dogs!” However, although he said this, he was quite proud of his title.
Walking Flare… It could be said that he acquired this title due to his merits in the last war like Barseagle. Not only that, his title was more deterrent than Barseagle’s due to their difference in ranks. In the last war, Garry was only a true werewolf. It was only at the last stages of the war that he broke through his bloodline limitations and ascended to Higher Werewolf.
“Let’s see if his reputation precedes him. I forgot to say didn’t I?” Garry has a half smile, half serious face that was hard to read.
Garry’s two subordinates perked up their ears. Regarding the last war, many heroes rose for their race. Barseagle was popular because he was the only true vampire that was given a title, a name, due to his feats.
