Chapter 113: Chaos Sea
“What is happening?” Ian’s eyes squinted.
In the sky above the Arena, the once radiant tournament platform had become shrouded in crimson mist and the wails of broken space. The rules, the elders, and the so-called “sacred order” of the tournament had all crumbled in a single instant.
No one understood what had just occurred, until the truth, buried beneath millions of years of silence, began to rise like a corpse refusing to rot.
“So it has finally begun…” Suelo, with the gaze of a sleeping dragon, stepped forward. His robes fluttered, though no wind blew. His hands, calm and empty, hid a million years of preparation. At his side, the Grand Devil, the beautiful deviless whose charm could bring emperors to their knees and whose cruelty had sealed the fate of worlds, laughed softly.
“Ian… I didn’t tell you but… This tournament was never meant to determine the strongest. It was only meant to gather… sacrifices.”
Ian clenched his fist. ’Damn bastard!’
The space trembled.
Across the infinite realms, the divine senses of countless True Gods were sealed. Their divine qi drained. Their Godhood cracked. Those who once stood at the peak of existence now screamed like mortals drowning in the sea. All the participant warriors from every Universe began to feel their lifeforce weaken, unit by unit…
The Scheme That Began A Million Years Ago
Long before the eighteen universes rose to prominence…
Before the first Heaven fell…
Suelo and the Grand Devil had once been forbidden lovers in the Chaos Sea. But their love turned bitter when Heaven punished them, cursing their souls to never ascend. Denied the right to become Chaos Gods, they vanished. Dead, all thought.
But in truth, they had prepared.
They artificially created a million Universes through their powers, they planted a formation called the Cycle of Blood and Stars, a hidden killing array that could only be activated when the following conditions were met. In the end, from a million, only eighteen remained.
99 True Gods must gather in a single realm
At least 33 Divine Bloodlines must be awakened
The total combat ki of the participants must reach “Epoch Level”
The host universe must be stabilized by a Supreme Heaven Pillar, exactly like the one under the Tournament Arena
And finally…
A seed must be placed into the body of the host millions of years in advance.
Suelo was the seed.
The Grand Devil was the blade.
The tournament was the feast.
As the array activated, stars cracked in the sky. Red chains erupted from the void and pierced the bodies of the True Gods. Their blood, glowing with immortal energy, was drained into the sky. The cries of divine beings echoed across realms.
Ian, standing on the cracked stage, roared. “Protect Universe One! All of you, behind me!”
His Destruction Qi surged.
His body, already beyond the limits of the Divine Realm, began to crack as he held off the collapse of space itself. Like a lone mountain against the storm, he shielded the remaining cultivators with a barrier born of will and sacrifice.
All others, spectators, officials, divine beasts, sky watchers, and sovereign heirs, were torn apart, used to fuel the ascension of two ancient monsters.
Above, Suelo and the Grand Devil fused with the Chaos. The world trembled as they transcended the Dao. Their bodies burned away, leaving behind figures made of chaos essence and primordial fire.
“We are no longer bound by Heaven…” Suelo whispered, eyes blazing.
“We are now Chaos Gods.”
Aftermath
The Tournament was abandoned.
The rules no longer mattered. The Grand Arena became a forbidden land.
The world was ending. Not just in sound, not just in light, but in the very laws that governed existence.
Above the shattered remains of the Heavenly Void Arena, Suelo and the Grand Devil had become one. A monstrous being of elegant darkness and chaotic radiance floated in the air. Their fusion gave birth to an entity beyond comprehension, neither male nor female, god nor demon. It was a being made from grief, obsession, vengeance, and forgotten love.
Ian stood tall. Blood streamed down his mouth. His golden armor was cracked. The divine halo behind him flickered. His wings, pure white and soaked in blood, trembled as he clutched his side, breath shallow.
But even as the fused Chaos God raised a hand to finish him, Ian roared, “Sanctuary of the Divine Realms!”
A surge of pure Angelic Qi exploded from his body. His halo burned bright like the rising sun, and from his back, six ethereal wings spread open to their full length.
Golden inscriptions formed in the air. With a single hand gesture, he swept his companions, Damon, Barseagle, Yara, and the remaining survivors of Universe One, into a radiant orb of light.
“Return when the world is safe. Live.” Ian whispered, his voice trembling with divine power.
The orb vanished into a separate dimension. A sealed plane crafted with the last of Ian’s divine energy. Only he could unlock. One that would protect them from the destruction to come.
Final Battle: Ian vs the Fused Chaos God
The fused entity looked down at him, speaking in a voice that echoed across countless dimensions.
“You do not understand us, Ian. We do not seek to destroy for pleasure. We seek to return.”
Ian’s breath was weak, but his gaze burned.
“Return…? To what? You killed billions. You tore apart existence. And you speak of returning?”
The Chaos God floated closer, a sigh of ancient sorrow in their tone.
“We were born from the Sea of Chaos itself. In the beginning… before the Heavens, before the Laws, there was only Chaos. The Sea was our cradle.”
Ian narrowed his eyes. “You said you were born from it. But why come here? Why create universes, only to destroy them?”
The Chaos God raised a hand. A vision unfolded before Ian.
Vision: The Truth of the Cosmos
Above them, an illusory cosmos unfolded. Stars, galaxies, and millions of universes rotated slowly, as if time had frozen.
The Chaos God’s voice echoed.
“There are not thirteen universes, Ian. There are millions. But none of them are real.”
Ian’s pupils shrank.
“Each universe is a construct, created by us, bound by Laws, rules, and cycles. We made them to mimic life… to mimic meaning. But they are all imitations. None are true.”
“Even Universe One?” Ian asked, his voice low.
“Yes. Even that.”
A silence heavier than death filled the air.
“We created the universe you cherish, Ian. You, too, are a child of illusion.”
The Chaos God extended a hand, showing scenes of creation, of Suelo and the Grand Devil weaving primal forces, stitching together galaxies from fragments of dreams. A world built to simulate the chaos they had lost. A desperate attempt to recreate the Sea that birthed them.
“But no matter how many worlds we shaped, none of them brought peace. None of them brought the feeling of home. So we devised this final plan. To gather enough divine energy, to draw enough Dao essence, to shatter the boundaries… and return to the true Chaos Sea.”
Ian’s Awakening
Ian stood still. Everything he had believed… the foundation of his cultivation, his battles, his dreams, they were all part of a creation made by the enemy standing before him.
And yet, as he touched the memories of his friends… Damon’s laughter, Barseagle’s loyalty, Kate’s tears… he clenched his fists.
“You may have created the world I live in…” Ian said softly, voice trembling with fury and sorrow, “…but it was me who gave it meaning. We are not just tools for your return. We lived. We loved. We bled. That makes us real.”
His Divine Core began to tremble.
Then his Bloodline awakened.
Angelic wings turned to Cosmic Wings. His Divine Halo split into three, each representing Body, Soul, and Will. The Law of Reality bent slightly.
From the deepest part of his spirit, something awakened. Something older than the Grand Devil. Something not created by Suelo.
A piece of the original Chaos Sea. Hidden. Sleeping. Inside Ian.
The fused Chaos God’s eyes widened for the first time.
“Impossible… That spark… it is the Primordial Flame of Arch Angels!”
Ian’s gaze turned sacred.
“You wanted to return to the Chaos Sea… but I was born from it. I am the Great Old One!”
