Chapter 12: The Walking Flare and the Special Reaper
“Captain, that big guy seems to know you.” Although far away in the sky, Ian could see that the three enemies were talking about them. Their gestures and body language gave them away.
Barseagle sighed. “Honestly, we’re in serious trouble.”
“How serious?” Ian asked with a dignified expression and a deep tone.
“Let’s say, I’m ready to sacrifice myself for the Blood Realm. This is my last contribution to our race.”
As casually as he tries to say this, Barseagle couldn’t hide the weight of his tone.
“That serious!? Shit!” Panicked took over Daniel’s face. His countenance paled. “Just who is he!?”
Liz and Kate held each other, their eyes rested on Barseagle.
Barseagle took a deep look at Garry that encompassed the red sky with his figure alone. The dark clouds acted as a background to his silhouette and gave his aura an added gloomy feeling.
Just like that, the three covered some distance to the point that they could see and talk with each other more clearly.
“You’re rulers don’t know the seriousness of the situation it seems.” Garry’s deep voice echoed as he took the team 7’s lineup, regarding them with disdain. “And because of their incompetence, they’re about to lose an entire team.” His voice dripped with sarcasm, taking his time to criticize the rulers of the vampire race.
Garry looked at Barseagle eagerly. ‘To think that the time will come when someone of his name will fall under my hands.”
Garry knew that if he took down Barseagle. His reputation would get another leap… Although Barseagle was only a true vampire. His name has far more weight than most true vampires around. As Garry imagined taking down Barseagle, the Radiator, the corner of his lips curled up.
Another achievement that was about to fall on his lap!
‘Why is it fucking like this? We almost lost our lives being chased by a group. Now, we fucking had to face a fucking higher vampire and two true vampires to boot?’
‘What the fuck is this? A tragic set? Are we about to get finished here?’
This is Daniel’s thought, his legs trembling. He looked at Ian, who was over 14 meters big, and then at Garry… He couldn’t help but compare.
Ian was already gigantic in his opinion. Now, there’s an even bigger one, which was, unfortunately, their enemy!
“Don’t look at me. I can fight true werewolves at most.” Ian shrugged helplessly. “You know, we’re absolutely fucked!”
“We’re in some shit now,” Liz added, despair in her voice apparent.
Kate sighed.
“HAHAHA! Not bad! At least, you have some self-awareness.” The true werewolf in the right shoulder of Garry laughed.
On the left, the other one gave Team 7 a cold look. He didn’t say anything but he already declared the team 7 dead in his eyes.
‘If I can kill the two goons on his shoulders. I’ll be able to afford other upgrades. I hope those were enough to at least help us escape against this big fuck.’ With some thought, Ian began to consider his options. ‘Status!’

…
“If I’m not wrong, that’s Garry, the Walking Flare.” Barseagle’s tone carried weight within. He knew that what they met was a hard stubble this time. And he knew that only luck might give them a chance to survive.
‘There’s a bunch of Higher Wereolwolves out there. Why must they send this bastard?’
“Walking Flare? Doesn’t sound scary.” Ian interjected on the side. “Who is even this Garry guy?”
Garry looked at Ian as if he was looking at an insect. “It’s hard to step on an ant without crushing it. I hope your fist is as strong as your mouth.”
Daniel, Kate, and Liz gave Ian a horrified look. They couldn’t help but curse. Why must Ian provoke Garry? Isn’t he afraid that Garry would kill them out of provocation? If there’s a chance to escape, it lays on a probability that Garry would underestimate them!
But what is Ian doing?
As Ian saw his three companions glare at him. He decided to shut his mouth.
‘What? Did I do something wrong?’ Inwardly, Ian chuckled.
‘I’m lacking a lot of biomass. This is the perfect opportunity.’
Barseagle shook his head at this. “At 18 years old, Garry infiltrated the Savarra Camp and acted as a spy for six years without getting caught. Although he didn’t get that truly confidential information with top security. He still managed to get a lot of information that he relayed to his superiors… It was a heavy blow to the Blood Realm.”
“At that time, Garry took the opportunity. He advanced to a True Werewolf. At the same time, he successfully uprooted at least 70% of the vampire spies planted in their territory.”
“At 30 years old, Garry pushed the boundary further and developed his potential to the fullest. He successfully reached the pinnacle of his realm.”
“At 33 years, he was promoted. He became a platoon commander. At such a young age, he led the platoon that was composed of hundreds of members to several victories against a platoon composed of thousands of teams!”
“Garry invented the Saw Sea Chain of Command System that is commonly used by everyone now at 40 years old.”
“At the last war, he played the role of instigator. Through his commands, most of the people under him sacrificed their lives in exchange for severe blows against our army. Not only that, amidst a life-and-death battle against Rho, the Special Reaper, a Higher Vampire, is known for killing the elite seeds of various races. Under Rho’s pressure, Garry broke through his limitations and stepped on the Higher Werewolf Realm!”
“Only Garry managed to escape against Rho’s hunt, earning Garry the title of ‘The One That Got Away’… One must know that escaping against Rho requires dumb luck. That ruthless guy hunted hundreds of super-geniuses of the Werewolf Race, which is why they call him Special Reaper. He’s reaping the lives of those special ones…”
Barseagle trailed his words; his tone was that of awe as he talked about Rho. He looked at Ian and others who were listening to him intently; he couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.
He forced out a cough and continued.
“Now, after the war, Garry awakened a latent talent slumbering on his DNA. It’s this talent that earned him the title of Walking Flare, dominating the battlefield with flare and flurry of blue flames, incinerating the very air itself.”
In the sky, hearing Barseagle recount his deeds, felt prouder than ever. It was a different feeling when the enemy was talking about your feats highly. It almost felt as if Barseagle was deliberately glazing him.
Garry immediately became vigilant. What is Barseagle’s purpose for doing this? Does he think he would let them go?
