He stepped closer his hands out like he was trying to calm a wild animal. “Please just listen I’m begging you here I know I screwed up bad the tattoo and the lies and everything I get why you’re mad but I’m trying to fix it I don’t know how to get out from under Si Woo’s stuff but I want to try for you Ohm I really do please talk to me we can figure this out I miss you so much it’s killing me.”

I shoved his hands away, my voice cracking even though I tried to keep it steady. “Miss me? You miss me? That’s rich after you lied about never having sex and let me smell him on you every single time you came over. I still made you tea and let you crash on my couch because I’m the idiot who loved you that much but you couldn’t even pick me over him once. I’m starting my life afresh Ye Jun without you without the tests without any of this crap I’m going back inside and I’m not coming back out so just leave me alone.”

He kept begging his words tumbling over each other faster and faster. “Ohm wait don’t go back in there with him I saw you kiss him but I know it wasn’t real please give me five minutes just five I’ll explain everything about the shooting and the payments and why I had to give him the stuff I was scared for both of us…. ”

But I was already turning away my chest tight and my eyes burning because hearing him beg like that made the sadness hit harder than the anger and I hated how much I still wanted to believe him. I pushed back through the door into the club the music slamming into me again and I spotted Sunoo right where I left him leaning against the bar looking smug. I grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the exit without saying a word to anyone else. Sunoo bumped straight into Ye Jun on the way out shoulder-checking him hard on purpose and flashed that big smile of his. “I’m getting fucked hard today because of you thanks for nothing pretty boy.”

Ye Jun just stood there looking wrecked but I didn’t stop. I dragged Sunoo out into the night my head spinning and my body reacting even though I didn’t want it to. I was hard no lie about that but it wasn’t for Sunoo not even close. It was all for Ye Jun the guy I couldn’t shake no matter how much I drank or who I kissed or how loud I yelled that I was done. I kept walking anyway because going back now would mean admitting I still loved him and I wasn’t ready to cry over that tonight not after laughing my ass off at how ridiculous the whole club scene had gotten with Sunoo throwing jabs and Ye Jun standing there like he wanted to disappear.

Sunoo laughed beside me squeezing my hand tighter. “You really kissed me just to mess with him huh? That was hot but also kinda sad Ohm you know that right? I mean I’m right here ready to make you forget his name and you’re still thinking about him I can tell by the way you’re gripping my hand like it’s his.”

“Shut up Sunoo,” I snapped but there was no real heat in it because he wasn’t wrong and that made the whole thing funnier in a twisted way. “You’re the one who showed up and hugged me like we were a couple so don’t act like you’re not enjoying this drama. I told you I don’t like you like that but here we are anyway because tonight I just wanted to drink and forget and now look at this mess.”

He bumped my shoulder playfully his tone all sarcastic and light like he was trying to keep the mood from crashing. “Mess? This is the best night I’ve had in weeks you using me to make your ex–crush jealous? Classic Ohm move. But seriously why do you keep doing this to yourself? He shows up and you turn into a total wreck I’ve seen it before every time you get that look in your eyes like you’re about to punch a wall or cry into your drink.”

I sighed loud and kept walking dragging him along because stopping would mean thinking too much. “Because he’s an idiot and I’m an even bigger idiot for still caring after he betrayed me like that. You don’t get it Sunoo you weren’t there when I trusted him with the evidence and he ran to Si Woo instead. It’s not just some crush it’s the way he used to make everything feel less heavy back when I first moved here and now it’s all ruined because of those stupid scents and the tattoo and the lies. I yelled at him out there I told him I never wanted to see him again but he just kept begging like that was gonna change anything.”

Sunoo whistled low and shook his head. “Begging huh? Sounds intense. And you still grabbed my ass in front of him that was bold. I almost dropped my drink watching you go for it. But hey if you’re done with him like you said then prove it tonight make me forget his name too I’m game for whatever you need.”
