Titi appeared at my side out of nowhere, grabbed my elbow, and yanked me into the corner by the stupid fake plant wall.

I almost dropped the drink in my hand. My heart was already beating too fast from seeing him walk in, and now Titi was dragging me like we were about to commit a crime.

“Jesus, Titi,” I muttered. “What is wrong with you?”

She pushed me against the wall of fake leaves and leaned in close like we were in some spy movie. Her eyes were wide and excited. The girl loved drama more than oxygen.

“Okay,” she hissed. “Spill. You’re still obsessed with him, right? Don’t lie. I saw your face when he walked in. You looked like you were gonna faint and come at the same time.”

I rubbed my face. “I hate you.”

“Love you too. Answer.”

I dropped my hands and looked at her. She was staring at me like she was waiting for the best gossip of the century.

For a second I thought about lying. Just saying no and ending the conversation. But Titi knew me too well. She would keep digging until I cracked anyway.

So I sighed. Long. Dramatic. “Yeah. Fine. I’m still stupid for him. Happy?”

Her eyes lit up like someone had just handed her a winning lottery ticket.

She squealed. Quiet. But still feral.

“Holy shit,” she whispered, bouncing a little on her feet. “I knew it. I knew it.”

“But,” I cut in before she could start planning our wedding, “it’s not the same. I don’t feel him like that anymore. Not the way I used to.”

Titi stopped bouncing. She tilted her head slowly, studying my face like I had just spoken another language.

“What do you mean?”

I looked past her for a second. Across the room people were laughing and talking. Music was playing too loud. Everything felt too bright and too noisy.

“I mean…” I rubbed the back of my neck. “He’s hot. Obviously. Like unfairly hot. That part hasn’t changed.”

Titi snorted. “Understatement of the century.”

“But when he got close?” I continued. “When his scent hit me? It was… intense. Like really intense.”

I frowned, trying to explain the feeling that had twisted inside my chest earlier.

“But not… mine,” I finished quietly. “Not like it should be. It felt like someone else’s alpha. Not the one I dreamed about for years.”

Titi frowned.

She crossed her arms and leaned against the fake plant wall next to me.

“Maybe it’s because he changed so much,” she said slowly. “He’s not the soft teddy bear anymore. He’s…”

She waved a hand in the direction of the party.

“This. Tall, scary, smells like he could bench press a car and then fuck you against it.”

I snorted. “Romantic.”

“Accurate,” she said proudly.

She leaned closer again, lowering her voice like this was the most serious conversation in the world.

“But maybe that’s it,” she continued. “The fantasy version of him is gone. Now he’s real. And real Ohm might not match the kid you were in love with.”

I chewed my lip.

That thought had crossed my mind already. The Ohm in my memories was soft and sweet. He used to smile all the time. He used to blush when I teased him.

The man who walked into this room tonight looked nothing like that boy.

He looked harder. Sharper.

Like the world had changed him.

“Maybe,” I said quietly.

Titi studied me for a second longer. Then her eyes narrowed like she had just solved a puzzle.

She leaned even closer.

Her voice dropped to a whisper.

“Or maybe it’s because you already gave your virginity to someone else.”

I stared at her.

“What?”

She lifted one shoulder like this was obvious.

“Think about it,” she said. “You always said Ohm was gonna be your first. Your big romantic alpha moment. You talked about it for years.”

I groaned softly. “Please stop talking.”

“And then,” she continued anyway, jerking her thumb toward Si-woo across the room, “that happened.”

My stomach twisted.

“Rough,” she went on. “Messy. Claiming. Maybe your body’s already decided who it belongs to. Maybe Ohm’s too late.”

I laughed.

It came out sharp and way too loud. Almost panicked.

“No. No way. That’s… that’s insane.”

I shook my head quickly.

“I’m not in love with Si-woo. I hate him. He hates me. The previous night was hate sex. Angry, stupid, hate sex.”

Titi raised one eyebrow slowly.

“Hate sex doesn’t leave bruises shaped like handprints and make you smell like claimed omega for days.”

Heat rushed into my face.

“Shut up.”

“I’m just saying…”

“No.”

“You screamed his name.”

“I was in pain!”

She stared at me like I had just told the dumbest lie on earth.

“You were not in pain. You were…”

A couple of people nearby glanced in our direction when I snapped her name.

She just grinned at me. Evil. Completely pleased with herself.

“Okay, okay,” she said, holding up her hands. “But admit it. Part of you liked it. A lot.”

I buried my face in my hands.

Everything felt too hot suddenly. My skin, my neck, my ears.

“I’m going to throw up,” I muttered.

Titi snorted.

“You’re going to throw yourself at him again. That’s what you’re going to do.”

“Never. Again.”

“Liar.”

I slowly lowered my hands and peeked through my fingers.

Across the room Ohm was laughing at something Si-woo said. But I saw the tension among them.

The sound of his laugh was soft and familiar, and for a second it hit something deep inside my chest.

But Si-woo wasn’t laughing back.

His eyes flicked toward me.

They held.

Dark. Possessive.

My stomach flipped again.

Different this time.

Hotter. Angrier.

Like something inside me recognized that look and didn’t know what to do with it.

Titi followed my gaze.

She looked from Ohm to Si-woo and then back to me.

After a second she sighed.

“God,” she muttered. “You three are a walking disaster.”

“Yeah,” I said quietly. “And it’s only getting worse.”

She bumped her shoulder into mine.

“Want my advice?”

“No.”

“Too bad.”

She pointed a finger at my chest.

“Go home tonight. Lock your door. And figure out who the fuck you actually want.”

I groaned.

“Because right now,” she continued, “you’re leaking for both of them. And they both know it.”

I dragged my hands down my face again.

“I hate this dumb shit.”

Titi laughed softly beside me.

“You love this mess. Don’t lie.”

She was right.

I did.

And that was the worst part.
