As they got closer to the area where the sound of fighting was erupting from, they saw a valley.

Intense killing intent brewed in Nameless’s eyes as he recognized the leader of the Ash Legion as a sworn enemy of his kingdom. His killing intent was so thick it felt like it would burst out and materialize in reality like that one fiend Ray had killed not too long ago.

“Wait,” Ray said, stopping Nameless from taking action.

“What? Finally getting cold feet?” Nameless asked, his voice edged with disdain and impatience.

“I have a plan. I hope you can assist me,” Ray said sincerely.

Nameless’s heart welled up with curiosity.

Ray’s lips raised into a sly smile. “Something crazy.”

The King Slime had used its skill to solidify its body into a material tougher than steel. In this state, no matter what Shinma and his Leviathan Pup did, they couldn’t harm the King Slime. It happened in the blink of an eye. No one had the chance to react before a horizontal, high-temperature fire tornado erupted from Ray’s mouth, sweeping across the valley like a death sentence. ☠️

His Leviathan Pup listened to him intently. A massive wave of water erupted out of its body, splitting into multiple streams, raining down on the valley below, putting out the fire.

The valley filled up with steam.

Shinma and the Leviathan Pup were forced to defend. With magic power still present in their reserves, they were able to properly defend against the Azure Wind Blades that shot out of the steamy haze.

The King Slime, on the other hand, used its last bit of magic power to resist the fate of becoming a mere tamed beast of a human. Its magic power poured out to block the light that shot out of Ray from entering its body.

“If you don’t resist, I promise I will help you take revenge and kill all these fiend scums,” Ray tried to reason with it.

Perhaps it was enticed by the thought of revenge, perhaps it was touched by Ray’s sincerity, the King Slime dispersed its magic power, allowing his soul light to sink into its flesh.
