Chapter 155: 155 The Harmony and The Rift.
At the heart of the martial arts festival—the main arena, the Coliseum, stood like a monumental piece of history.
Jin’s Jade eyes skill flashed to reveal a layer of magical barrier that reinforced the firm structures, enveloping the colossal building.
Inside, Jin could hear spectators already filling in, their voices growing with excitement.
He entered through the small door, where staff and students waited.
As soon as they recognized Jin’s appearance, they abruptly sprang up to the door, opening it lightly with a creak.
“Bring us glory, junior, Jin”.
One of the male seniors clenched his fist tight on the chest.
His bravery incited a flame in others, as the other seniors, who knew Jin’s capabilities, voiced their thoughts.
“Junior, Jin. I’m counting on you”.
“Show them what we are!”.
“We believe in you”.
Jin raised his thumb and, with a confident smile, said.
“Thank you, senior. We will work hard in the tournament”.
A cheer erupted in the place as they escorted Jin’s group with smiles plastered on their faces.
Jack and Victor exchanged glances, their breath shallow. Never to be expected, Jin was being relied on by his seniors.
They still recalled Jin’s decision, who boldly declared that he would choose the eastern blade rather than the longsword.
Additionally, there was a fact: his wind elemental aptitude, which gave Jack and Victor a hard time guessing what was on the mind of their little brother.
Jin recklessly challenged the thorny path with a vague future.
However, seeing the reaction of the students around Jin. A smile crept on Jack’s face, happy that his little brother found his place within others.
Except for Victor, his brows knitted in a deep frown. The man still couldn’t accept the fact that Jin refused their father’s legacy.
His fingers dug into his palm, averting his gaze to the window aside. Unnoticed that a pair of eyes were observing each of his expressions and behaviour.
The group walked in the stretched hallway. Their footsteps echoed in every corner, adding to the silent atmosphere between them.
As he couldn’t tolerate the heavy air that shrouded the group, Jack coughed to snap the other two attention and opened his mouth.
“Right, Jin. Where’s mother? We stayed in different places, so”.
“Mother is with the other”. Jin explained, his voice raising the two men’s brows in wonder.
“With who?”.
Jack asked and noticed a staircase that would lead them upstairs standing in the corner.
“You’ll see”. Jin didn’t continue as he stepped up the stairs.
They ascended the stairs, following Jin’s steps.
A wave of nostalgia hit Jack’s brain. The memories of battles and youthful dreams started to resurface with each step they took.
For a brief moment, time blurred as the past followed behind them in a silent whisper.
The group arrived on the upper floor. They stood in front of a massive, twin door.
It was carved with a sublime pattern, capturing the sophisticated images of an eternal tree towering over the lands.
Jin held the handle, and with a bit of twist, the door moved with a growling creak. A loud cheer from the crowds welcomed him; then someone greeted him.
“Jin, you’re back?”.
Iris’s loud voice rang like an echo, attracting other eyes to his side.
“Oh, Jin”. Marina looked back, leaning her back on the sofa. “You met with your big brothers, good”.
The atmosphere inside the room was a blend of grace and a bit of tension. Red curtains tied on each side swayed gently by the opened balcony, offering a clear view below the arena.
Jin’s mother sat poised on top of the sofa. Several guests were also present, including Duke and Duchess Celia and King, who wore inconspicuous attire but still made from high-quality materials.
It was a VIP room. The place in the coliseum hosts renowned people from all over the world.
Sitting beside her mother, Duchess Celia, Silvia abruptly stood up, walking toward Jin with a gentle expression on her face.
“Welcome back, Jin”. Her gentle voice tugged a smile on Jin’s lips.
“Yeah, let’s go meet the others”. Jin glanced at his mother, who sat beside Iris. “Mother, I will take my leave”.
“Yeah, go and take the champion title”.
Marina proudly boasted in front of other guests. Then he turned to her side, watching Iris with a firm stare.
“You too, don’t lose to him, Iris”. Marina patted the Elven girl’s shoulder.
“Alright”.
Iris nodded and stood up, exchanging glances with Lucya, who also bid her father farewell.
“Father, make sure you watch my match, okay?”.
The King raised his hand, caressing the girl’s golden hair tenderly and said.
“Yeah, go out there and have fun”.
The man followed his daughter’s back as she settled near Jin’s side, who accidentally met gaze with him.
Both didn’t make a sound, only a silent understanding between men, nodding to each other.
For the last time, Jin looked at Duke Frost’s side, watching Lady Celia cover her giggle. Amused by Silvia’s sudden shift in emotion.
“I’m leaving my daughter in your hand, Jin”.
“Yes”. Jin slightly bowed his head, then turned to his brothers. “Big bro, Jack and Victor, let’s meet again later”.
With him as the leader, Jin escorted the girls leaving the room.
When their shadows were gone, Jack blinked, his eyes darting between the door and the room, recalling the earlier scene when many girls surrounded his little brother.
A faint blush crept up to his cheeks as the realization dawned upon him. Flushed and flustered, Jack bolted to his mother’s side, ignoring the startled nobles.
He leaned in closer to his mother. Cold sweat drenched the poor man’s back, pointing at the door in a half-panicked voice.
“M-Mother, t-that Jin, my little brother”. Jack’s voice cracked.
Marina didn’t answer right away. Instead, a playful smile tugged at her red lips. She reached out, patting Jack’s shoulder.
Her shoulders trembled as she held in a smile that threatened to appear on her face.
“…Hurry and introduce your girl to me, okay?”.
Jack nearly choked. “U-Um, you know, I still have many things to learn…”.
The mother exhaled softly, seeing her eldest son, who always got shy when faced with this kind of conversation.
’Honestly, you are just like me at a young age’.
Marina began to dive into her old memories where she always rejected Ryan’s advances, trying to hide her affection with unnecessary violence.
’Ah, I hope to see my grandchild soon…’.
Cheers erupted as the palpable tension and its euphoric atmosphere drew everyone in except for one man.
His sharp blue eyes continued to look at the lingering trace of his little brother.
’Jin’.
Victor scoffed under his breath as the dark fog began to shroud his heart, twisting his expression into hatred.
