Chapter 61: The Goddess Vs Demon Jamie
The light flooding the VIP section revealed everything with brutal clarity.
Wrinkles carved themselves into the goddess’s forehead, her eyes narrowing with pure, unfiltered annoyance. Energy began to pour from her body, spilling out like an endless, broken tap. The effect was immediate—sections of Midworld trembled, destabilizing under the pressure of her power.
Concern swept through the VIP section. Captains, overseers—no one was spared. They stared at the goddess as if she were a ticking bomb moments from detonation. They had never seen her like this. In their minds, she was calm by nature, composed, untouchable. What stood before them now shattered that image completely.
Only one thought crossed all their minds at once:
We do not want to be on the receiving end of that anger.
“I think it’s finally time I have my say in this.”
Her voice was calm—but there was a sharp edge beneath it, like steel hidden under silk. As she spoke, she gathered her overflowing hair, tying it back into a tight ponytail. A thin string of magic formed instantly, holding it in place.
Tension rose to its peak. Curiosity mixed with suffocating pressure. They were about to witness the goddess in action—her power, no longer restrained.
Suddenly—
The Blue Jaguars’ captain stood up, shattering the heavy silence.
“Leave it to me,” he said dismissively. “You don’t need to involve yourself with low lives like him.”
He spoke playfully, mockingly, as if Jamie were nothing more than a nuisance.
The goddess’s head snapped toward him.
Her eyes were drenched in bloodlust. The wrinkles on her forehead deepened as she stared at him—not as an ally, but as an enemy.
“Shut… up.”
The words were rough. Commanding. Instant silence followed.
The captain’s fingers began to tremble. His eyes lost all color for a split second. His heart went still—as if it no longer existed inside his chest. He froze completely, a living statue.
In that moment, he was among the dead.
That was how easily the goddess could kill—with a single glare, a decision was made.
Effortlessly, she floated from the VIP section, radiance spilling off her form. Light reflected off her body as she descended, dazzling and flawless, like a living diamond.
Even from afar, Bray felt it—the sheer, overwhelming magnitude of her power. The stadium shook violently. Cracks split across the structure. The air itself seemed to compress, reality draining of color until the world felt black and white.
“Instant teleportation!” someone shouted.
Pew!!!
She vanished.
Her destination was clear—straight toward Jamie, into the very forest she herself had created for the players.
Have you ever seen an empty car suddenly loaded with an impossibly heavy object?
The way it sinks. The way the tires scream. The instant strain.
That was the forest.
From high above, the truth became clear—something many had missed. The battleground was an island, surrounded by kilometers of open water.
Boom!!!
The edges of the forest cracked violently. Deep fissures tore through the land. Trees toppled and slid into the ocean, crashing like falling boulders. With every second, the fractures grew wider, deeper, more violent.
And there they stood.
Amid chaos and fear. With every eye locked on them.
Jamie Noter—fully transformed, demon hand still wrapped tightly around Greg’s suffocating neck.
And the goddess.
Face to face.
Neither showed the slightest intention of backing down.
“All along, you were this ugly beast,” the goddess said coldly. “I should’ve seen it sooner—before choosing you as an anchor being.”
Her voice was calmer now than it had been in the VIP section. Controlled. Focused.
“I thought you came here to fight,” Jamie replied casually, “not to chat.”
Hmh!
Her irritation flared instantly, masking her beauty like dust clinging to a mirror. Her eyes reddened, veins bulging across her face. She raised her right hand toward the sky.
“What’s she summoning?!” the childlike overseer shouted from the rooftop.
“You don’t know?” a female overseer replied, awe dripping from her voice. “She’s calling upon something she hasn’t held in centuries. And every time she does… her opponent never lives to see the next day.”
Her eyes gleamed with reverence.
“The Scythe of Creation—Zaiabatsu. Kill him, goddess. Show no mercy.”
Pew—
BOOM!
A beam of white light shot down from the heavens, crashing into her hand. A violent shockwave erupted outward, bending trees and ripping through the air—though not enough to break them.
The Scythe of Creation was a horror worthy of its name.
Its shaft was pitch black, lined with thorns. The blade shimmered darkly, gothic and cruel. Vein-like strings—resembling intestines—wrapped around it, binding blade to handle. A mouth opened in the center of the blade as it touched the goddess’s hand, devouring energy straight from the ground.
The battlefield groaned under the strain. The island trembled, on the verge of collapse into the sea.
She didn’t care.
She would destroy everything if it meant winning.
“That’s a nice weapon,” Demon Jamie said lightly. “Let me just free up my hands.”
Before anyone could react—
He snapped Greg’s neck.
Effortless. Casual.
One second alive. The next—empty.
The Five Scorpions’ captain froze, horror consuming her. Her vice-captain had been executed right before her eyes. Hearts stopped across the battlefield as realization set in.
Jamie released Greg’s body.
It fell like a sack of sand.
Boom!!
The corpse hit the ground, dust exploding into the air. Even from above, you could see where he landed by the scattered sand alone. Greg was dead—not just in the real world, but in Midgard as well. Killed by the very man he came to destroy.
“Now,” Demon Jamie said confidently, “let’s get this going, shall we?”
He stood relaxed, unfazed—despite facing the most dangerous being in the universe, surrounded by powerful enemies who wouldn’t hesitate to join in.
The odds weren’t in his favor. And while his command worked on Greg, there was no guarantee it would work on the goddess.
They took their stances.
Eyes locked.
A collision that would shake Midworld was seconds away—
When suddenly—
Kwahhhh!!!
Reality itself tore open in the sky, splitting vertically like a zipper forced apart. The sound drew every gaze—captains, players, citizens across Midworld. Thanks to the hacked broadcasts, the entire world witnessed it live.
“What the hell is that?!”
“Impossible!”
Screams echoed through streets far beyond the stadium.
Beyond the tear was endless darkness.
Then—
A female voice emerged.
“Jamie, Jamie, Jamie… you’ve only just transformed for the first time, and you’re already going against White Hair?”
It was confident. Familiar. Knowing.
“What did you expect?” a male voice added with a laugh. “He’s the pride of the demon race.”
Figures stepped out from the darkness, walking on the very air itself.
Tension reached its absolute limit.
Everyone watched, breath held, as the uninvited guests mocked the goddess like they knew her well.
They fully emerged at last.
Commander Stella —and lieutenant Damion.
The demons from the flashback had arrived.
