Chapter 31: Chapter 31: First Class(End)

After Seraphim left the classroom, the whole room was now filled with a bit of noise.

It’s like when she left everyone could finally breath a sigh of relief and release some pent-up tension.

The whole of Class S now was in conversation Adam was with his friends Duke and Selena the twins.

Amy Wilson was busy talking with Finn and Ivy, While grace Amberfrost was in a group with Eve von Silverwing, Finn the commoner and also Brad Pitt which was an uncommon group that you wouldn’t expect.

Duke was speaking with Selena and Adam, he slammed both his hands on the desk as he was leaning towards Adam with his eyes wide.

“Bro!! You didn’t tell me your a mana prodigy! Then again you loved reading those books of yours when we were younger”

Adam just leaned back slightly, a small smile was tugged at the edge of his lips clearly amused by his friend’s enthusiasm. “That was nothing Duke, just basic mana gathering and conversion.”

” ’That was nothing’ he says” Duke groaned throwing his hands in the air “I swear I’m not good at these theoretical stuff I’m just looking forward to the combat classes!”

Selena just sighed, and smacked his head.

“Ouch! What was that for!?”

“Cause your just a brute that’s what! Can’t believe your my twin and a prince at that” Selena just sighed in defeat.

Her gaze though went to Adam, looking at him with eyes full of respect and admiration “But yeah he’s right you really learn how to do that easily, I know we’re all prodigies and stuff, but your on another level”

“Hmph, he probably just got lucky” scoffed Grace who overhead their conversation.

Grace isn’t a bad person she’s just a tsundere who can’t really admit it when she’s lost, but she always respects those who beat her and is an honorable person.

“That beating you got at the entrance exam must’ve scrambled your brains” Duke retorted as he laughed a bit from his comment

Other people also joined in as they began to laugh, even Adam joined in and the whole atmosphere in the classroom became wholesome

Meanwhile Grace her face was red with anger and embarrassment

But before she could respond, the door opened abruptly again.

Everyone turned their heads towards the door thinking that Seraphim came back again, but it was just her voice echoing in the room.

“Oh yeah and one final piece of advice before your pride leads you to your deaths”

Everyone heard the voice but seraphim wasn’t anywhere to be scene, some people turned their gazes towards the door expecting she would come in but that never happened.

“I know many of you lot think that the things you did during the entrance exam is proof of your power, but your dead wrong!”

Her voice echoed loudly and it was sharp and also thunderous

“Those were just explosions of mana forcibly channeled through your affinities, you bent the world sure, but that was like a baby learning how to walk without learning how to crawl first. No foundations just brute power with no sense of control.”

A hush then fell over the whole class, even the so ever prideful Grace Amberfrost suddenly look small, she didn’t try to deny what the professor said.

“You guys haven’t be able to wield mana yet,” she continued. “Well not truly anyways, but what you felt today is just a mere whisper, a first step in learning how to wield mana, through discipline and through training you’ll have a polished foundation turning that chaos into art. Remember these words before your useless arrogance blinds you forever.”

Then the door close with a sharp click leaving only silence behind in the room.

The weight of her words still hung over the students of Class S like it was a storm cloud, other shifted uncomfortably and others were clenching their firsts in determination.

Duke however just slumped back into his seat groaning “So she’s basically saying we’re just babies playing with candle sticks great.”

Selena just folded her arms and just said “She’s right you muscle brain, what we did wasn’t skill it was just uncontrolled power seeping through.”

Adam just remained quiet, he just gaze out the window where the sunlight spilled across the courtyard beyond.

He had already known this, that he hasn’t yet learned how to controll this power he has within his body, and that’s why he came to the academy in order to polish his basics and get a good foundation.

Across the room though, new conversations just sparked.

“I could’ve done more you know if I just had another minute of practice” muttered a teen with sharp brown eyes this was Brad

The murmurs swirled that weaved into invisible lines of competition through the classroom.

Duke leaned closer to Adam, he lowered his voice and talked with a whisper. “Things just got even more hectic huh, I’m pretty sure Jake won’t let you being the Apex slide.”

“He can act like a brat all he wants, I’ll humble him either way.”

“That’s just like you” Duke grinned “I’m on your side, things won’t be boring here at the academy.”

Selena eyes just flickered between the two of them, she just sighed in defeat “Oh boy I feel like I’ll be cleaning up after both your messes for a while.”

Here words just made both Adam and Duke laugh and Selena just joined in with a soft chuckle

That’s when the class ended, showing that this was the end of the morning classroom session.

Everyone started to leave the room one by one, some were in the group they formed by others left alone.

Adam, Duke and Selena sticked with each other and chatted while going out the classroom

“First day and I already fill like shit, my brain feel like it just ran a marathon.” Said Duke

“Well if you’ve read books a bit more maybe you wouldn’t be in this situation,” Selena sighed.

“Hey cut him some slack, you know Duke is all about fights and physical training, he can’t think to save himself,” Adam said with a grin

“Hey!” Duke exclaimed as both Adam and Selena laughed

They all emerged into the Academy’s wide corridors, sunlight streaming through the high arched windows

The chatter of the other students filled the air, as footsteps echoed off the floors.

“We’re having our first combat class after this right?” Adam asked

“Yeah, we should go there now we don’t want to be late” Selena responded

“Heck yeah! Now we’re talking! Come on I’ll race ya there!” Duke said excitedly as he sprinted off

“Hey! Don’t just rush off on your own you idiot!” Selena chased after him, Duke saw this and ran faster knowing that if she caught up to him he’d get a snack to the head

“Hey guys wait for me” Adam said while chuckling as he chased after the both of them

After leaving the Dragonis Duchy he was always having moments like this with them, no pressure just him enjoying his time and having fun with his friends

“I missed this feeling, in my past life I was all alone, no friends, no family heck I didn’t even get to pop my cherry” Adam laughed to himself

“Even when I reincarnated life was full of hardships before I regained my last memories, it was these two who kept me going and I’m glad I get to experience this feeling again with them here” Adam said as he watched their backs as they rushed to the class

“And I’ll do anything to protect them and this friendship we have” His eyes gleamed with determination to protect his loved ones

Their steps echoed throughout the halls of the academy as they ran in the halls going towards the next class full of excitement

They arrived at where their next class will take place Selena was composed, Duke was rubbing his head as a small imaginary bump appeared on his head from Selena’s smack

And Adam stood Infront of them, eyes filled with drive and determination as he went into the room ready for what comes next on his next day

“Alright Silford Academy, here’s comes Adam!”
