Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Dungeon Dive(4)

TEAM 2 POV

ROAR!!

With a single motion it swung, hurling the weapon towards them with great speed.

The axe was spinning through the air, it was wreathing in spiraling fire— the axe was as massive as a carriage as it was screaming towards them with deadly force, aiming to cleave them apart in one devastating blow.

Brad Pitt saw this and fear was appearing on his eyes he didn’t waste anytime and shouted:

“Everyone stop it!”

Everyone snapped back into reality when they heard his shout and saw the large axe spinning towards them

Brad slammed his hands on the ground and a large wall made out of earth came into life attempting to block the axe

“Earth wall!” He roared.

The axe came into contact with the earth made wall and for a moment it seemed like it stopped

Crack!

The wall instantly cracked as the axe blast through it going towards them once more aiming to cleave all of them I two

All of them decided to work together in order to stop the axe

Amy also slammed down her hands on the ground, generating another earth wall but they didn’t stop there

Grace also acted infusing the earth wall with wind generating a torrent that would lower the axes speed and also it’s force

The axe met with the defense they created once again but this time around it stopped but they could see a small crack on the wall noticing how they barely stopped it.

“That was close.” Ivy commented.

“Yeah we almost died.” Selena said while wiping her brow

Boom!!

Their conversation was cut as they saw the monster blast through the earth wall with it’s huge body without much effort

The axe then landed on the ground with a heavy thud and it shook the earth when it did

The monster then grabbed it’s axe once again and it’s eyes were locked in with the team and once again it roared:

Roar!!

It made a huge leap towards them and grabbed the axe with both it’s arm aiming to slam it down towards them to flatten them in an instant

“Move!!” Grace shouted

All of them did so, they jumped out of the way to avoid the strike but that didn’t help them much

As the axe made contact with the ground, it split open as the collosal axe crashed down on them, the impact the sent shockwaves that rippled on the dungeon floor

Cracks that were like spiderwebs moved outward as flames and molten earth was erupting from below

“Shit! We almost got caught in that blast and this is just the mini boss!?” Ivy cursed, her eyes were narrowing as she leapt towards a burnt tree

Grace was recovering from mid-air, wings made out of fire flared from her back as she regained her balance

Her mana the flared as two auras were bringing around her that of her fire and wind affinity

“We shouldn’t give it the chance to attack again! Everyone bombarded it together!”

The minotaur then stomped forwards as molten cracks were forming under it’s hooves and it’s horns were glowing red-hot.

It then started swinging it’s axe sideways, tearing through some burnt trees and sending burning wood debris flying towards them

Brad started to grunt, and planted both his palms on the ground again. “Terra Surge!”

That’s when a wave of jagged rocks started to shoot up in front of him, shielding them from the debris.

“Thanks Brad!” Selena shouted as brad only gave her a nod.

Lightning started to crackle around her body as she then charged her sword as water was spiraling around the blade.

Selena then dashed forward with a huge burst of speed as wind was exploding behind her as she made a slash.

“Thunderflow Slash!”

The attack then hit the Minotaur’s flank, lightning was dancing across it’s molten skin. And for a moment it’s movements slowed as it roared aching in pain.

But then something happened m, the molten cracks on it’s body then flared even brighter. It’s muscles then bulged and hardened as if it was like molten armor.

“Damn! This things hide is tough!” Selena then jumped back, as her sword was vibrating from the rebound.

Amy then suddenly landed besides her, as one hand was glowing with earth like mana and the other was swirling with condensed air. “We need to pin this big oath down!”

She then slammed both her hands together. “Gale bind!”

That’s when a torrent of wind erupted, as it wrapped around the Minotaur’s legs, slowing it’s movements once more.

Brand also joined in, his fists were now glowing with an orange-red color. “Blazing bind!”

Chains that were main from earth covered with fire then started to surge from the ground, it wrapped around the Minotaur’s arms and also it’s torso.

For only a moment, it was trapped.

“Now, Ivy!” Grace yelled.

Ivy then grinned and gave a shirt nod, her hands were now already cloaked in black fire, it was her darkness affinity that was mixed with fire, forming a very unstable and roaring flames. “Abyss Flare!!”

She then launched the black flames towards the monster, it then exploded against the Minotaur’s chest, and it was the engulfed in a wild vortex of fire and darkness.

Roar!!

The Minotaur then roared, its hide was melting and also reforming under the extreme intensity.

Then there was smoke and embers that were filling the air.

Grace didn’t believe that it was done it and didn’t waste her chance and launched another attack.

“Tempest Spiral!” She shouted she put her hands out forward.

She sent out a torrent of flames that were powered by the wind towards the Minotaur’s chest, the attack left shallow gashes on it’s hard body that exploded a moment later.

Boom!!

An explain the occured, the explosion pushed the Minotaur back by several meters, leaving it kneeling on the ground as steam and smoke was pouring out from it’s body.

Selena the appeared besides grace as the lightning crackling around her body started to dim and she was already panting. “Did we… manage to get it?”

That’s when the smoke thinned.

The minotaur started rising again— false of it’s face was already burned and red blood was dripping, but the it’s will was burning brighter than ever.

It slammed the axe it held in the ground then roaring again in pure fury

Roar!!!

An red aura was covering it’s whole body and veins were appearing over its bulging muscles, they’ve heard of this before monsters going berserk when they received significant damage

Their power would increase drastically but would later be stunned and vulnerable when the effect ended.

“Ahh fuck, you jinxed it.” Ivy muttered

Then the ground beneath them started to erupt, pillars that were made from magna burst outward and it forced the whole team to scatter once more.

Grace was sent flying as her wings were flapping vigorously in order to halt her flight

But Selena came in with the save as a water tentacle grabbed her by the leg mid air stopping the fall

Then the Minotaur stated to charge through the chaos, it then swung it’s axe horizontally. The sheer force of the swing ripped through the air like a cannon.

Brad started to cross his arms, coating his whole body with a thick shell of earth armor, taking the blunt if the whole shockwave.

“Ghh- it’s way stronger than it was before!”

Then Amy appeared besides him, she the summoned a barrier that was made of compacted air and earth that was blocking the strike that followed after.

The impact the occured shattered the whole defense and it sent her stumbling backward.

Grace the skidded to her feet, wiping the blood that was dripping from her lip. “We can’t keep blocking each time we’ll loose at this rate!”

She then gathered her mana once more as it flowed from her body towards her arms, her fire and wind affinities began to merge, creating spiraling infernos.

Selena also joined her in this crusade, lightning and water was converging around her second, as the air stated to crackle violently.

Ivy then took a supportive position behind both of them, her dark flames started to spiral like a storm.

Brad and Amy were bracing themselves at the rear, channeling their mana into the ground to stabilize their whole formation.

The grace’s eyes started blazing.

“Combo attack let’s beat this overgrown goat!”

Then they all launched forward in unison.

Grace and Selena strikes first:

Grace let out a vortex of blazing wind that was tearing through the ground.

Selena was the following it up with a piercing surge of lightning that was infused with water.

The attacks then collided with the Minotaur’s guard, cracking it’s hardened magma armor.

Ivy the unleashed her dark flames above the whole team, raining in a flood if black fire spears that melted through its shoulders.

Brad and Amy then started to raise their hands, one of them was manipulating the earth, and compressed it with air pressure. And together they launched a massive projectile made out of superheated stone.

All their combined attacks then struck the Minotaur at point-blank range.

BOOOOMM!!

The explosion was then tearing through the whole dungeon chamber as fire and dust was flooding the air.

The smoke then started to ckear, the Minotaur was standing there it’s whole body trembling and half of it’s axe was shattered and it’s body was barely holding it together.

“Now!” Grace shouted through the silence. “Everyone hit it’s core and finish this!!”

They all nodded and started to gather their mana, channeling everything they had into one final strike.

Selena’s lightning was arcing into grace’s flame vortex and it then fused into a spiraling thunderstorm made if fire.

Then Amy came into play compressing it with her wind, Ivy the infused it with darkness, and Brad started to launch it forward with a huge burst if molten earth.

Their attack the tore through the Minotaur’s chest piercing it’s heart with one strike.

Roar!!

The monster let out it’s final scream, as the earth shattering roar trembled the air, it’s body disintegrating into dust and fading embers

And the whole dungeon then was filled with silence only their heavy breathes followed.

Then, Grace exhaled. “And this thing was peak D rank damn.”

“More like halfway to C rank.” Brad muttered collapsing to the ground.

Selena just chucked weakly. “We should take a break before we go to the boss.”

Amy grinned, “yeah I’m tired.”
