Veyra, Arlen and Darian along with the rest of the guild members all arrived at the same time.

All they found was Adam staring blankly at the air with the faint residue of mana still lingering in the air.

They all rushed towards him in order to see what happened.

“Adam, are you okay?” Veyra was the first one to speak up.

“Yeah… i’m just tired.” Adam replied weakly.

“What happened here? And what was that sudden mana spike and explosion?” Arlen enquired.

“Oh? That… that was me… i tried to destroy this chamber, seems like that worked out.” He replied.

“Are you sure your okay kid? It seems like you’ve been through a lot.” Darian asked.

“Yeah, kinda remembered my mother since it’s my birthday and all guess that dampened my mood,” Adam said while walking towards. “Regardless, Mission Complete. We should take that stone coffin back to the guild.”

Adam said as he started walking away, he was a filled with so much emotions right now that he couldn’t think of anything else.

Before he could go he felt someone hug him from behind, and it was no other than Veyra.

“Look, I don’t know what happened but your not alone.” She said. “Please lean on us more, we might be guild members but we’re also family. We’re here for you don’t forget that.”

Adam didn’t say anything and just grabbed her arms while his hands were still trembling, his knees gave up and he started balling out until he passed out.

After Adam passed out he was left at the temporary Guild outpost to rest while the rest of them focused on taking the coffin.

“I wonder what’s in this coffin.” Darian asked.

“Probably something bad, since the seal placed on it is this powerful.” Arlen replied.

“It seems the cult were trying to unseal whatever was trapped in this thing, good thing Adam stopped them from doing so.” Veyra muttered.

“The rookie did a good job, we’ll get a hefty reward from the crown once we return.” Arlen said with a wide grin.

“Speaking of the rookie, I never knew he’d cry like that,” she added. “Seems like this mission triggered some unpleasant memories.”

“Yeah… loosing a loved is never easy. And the scars left because of that don’t always fully heal.” Darian muttered.

“We just have to be there for him, one day he might open up. For now let’s just do what we can.” Veyra said.

All of them nodded and started going back to the guild, their mission was now complete.

Deep Within A Hidden Chamber.

Faint chants could be heard from within as dark robbed figured were kneeling down while a singular was sitting on top of what seemed to be like a throne.

This was the main headquarters of Kyrexis and the person sitting on the throne was their leader, the one under contract with the main outer god and the apostle Adam’s mother battled.

His whole appearance was warped in grotesque ways as half his body was no longer there, the only thing that was there was swirling dark mass of shadows with multiple eyes.

He was encased in a large glass cube with numerous tubes connecting to his body, it seemed to be absorbing something to aid in his healing as the grotesque side was healing slowly.

“The mission failed?” He asked.

His voice was low, distorted and cold.

The one who came to report was trembling, beads of sweat were trailing down his face.

“Y-yes… the whole chamber was destroyed and the coffin is gone.”

“Hm… and who’s responsible for this?”

“I-it was the guild led by Veyra, they’ve been issued a mission by the king to stop the ritual.”

“Intel also says the ’heir’ was also present.”

“The heir huh?” The figure said as his lips curled into a smirk.

Back At The Guild

Adam woke up back at the guild, he was in a room used for the members who didn’t have a place to stay.

After taking a rest for a while he was feeling a better, he was even embarrassed that he cried like that in front of everyone.

“Damn, I can’t believe I cried like that.” Adam muttered.

Adam walked out his bed and came out the door, he passed through numerous facilities while seeing other guild members training.

He made his way towards the guild hall where he found Veyra, Arlen and Darian busy having a conversation with someone.

“Ah, our sleeping beauty is now awake.” Arlen said with a grin.

“Your not gonna let this go are you?” Adam said.

“Nope.” Arlen replied with a chuckle.

“Seems like your now back to your old self.” Veyra said with a small smile.

“Yeah… i’m fine now.”

“Good, and oh this is Commander Darian he’s an S-rank awakened.” She pointed towards Darian.

“Nice to meet you kid, you did good on this high profile mission.” Darian extended his hand for a handshake.

“Thank you, nice to meet you too.” Adam shook his hand.

Darian nodded approvingly and they all went back to the matter at hand.

“This is an envoy from the royal palace, they came here after hearing the mission was completed. They came to fetch the coffin.”

Adam looked at the envoy, it was a woman with light green hair and emerald colored eyes.

“Nice to meet you, my name is Penny and I’ll be in charge of giving you the rewards on behalf of the crown.”

She said as she took out a tablet from her pockets and started typing something on it.

Veyra received a notification on her own on the payment received.

“The Guild has been sent 10’000’000 Credits from the royal family on a job well done and also an extra 5’000’000 credits for being able to come back with the stone coffin.”

“The King also wants to personally give Adam a reward in the form of a single favor which can be claimed at any time.”

She took out a token having the royal family’s symbol on it and gave it to Adam.

“You can use this token to claim the reward, you should be honoured.” She said with a smile.

“I am.” Adam replied with a smile but his eyebrows were twitching in an annoyance for some reason.

“Well Guildmaster, I shall be taking my leave now.” Penny said.

“Yes, thank you for coming all this way.” Veyra replied.

Penny nodded and signaled the people she came with to leave, they took the coffin with them since it couldn’t be placed in a spatial ring for some reason and left the guild.

“Wow, a favor from the king? Now that’s something.” Arlen said with a low whistle.

“So what will you ask for?” Veyra asked.

“For now nothing, I’ll just hold on to it for now.”

Veyra nodded. “2’000’000 credits have been sent to your guild account, and your now a gold ranked member of the guild congratulations on your promotion.”

“Thank you, Guildmaster.”

Veyra nodded and said something else. “Oh, your friends are awake now. You should go see them.”

Adam’s eyes widened and nodded. “Yeah I’ll go see them now.”

Academy’s Infirmary

Class S all woke up in the same day, they haven’t left the Infirmary room yet since the healers told them they needed to rest before they left.

“Man this sucks.” Duke said.

“Tell me about, their overreacting.” Drake replied.

“Just suck it up you two, it’s only for a day.” Selena said.

“Can’t even stay still for just a single day huh?” Grace added

Before anyone could say anything else they saw the Infirmary door open and Adam walked inside.

“Hey guys, you all looked like shit.” He said with a smirk.
