TEAM ONE POV

A dark crescent arc tore through the misty fog like it was a blade that was made of night itself

It’s edges were humming with raw destruction, it was slicing through all the trees, rocks and also the air alike only leaving behind a trail of black fire.

“Everyone move!!” Adam shouted.

That’s when the entire team leapt to the side just as the arc slammed into the ground and it detonated with a loud thunderous sound

BOOM!!

Dark flames then erupted, twisting and also expanding like living shadows before it slowly faded away only leaving behind scorched earth that hissed and smoked.

“Crap… this thing is way stronger than a normal peak D rank!” Drake muttered, while gripping his greatsword even tighter.

His wind aura was flaring instinctively, as it was trying to push away the oppressive energy that was pressing down on all of them.

That’s when the monster started to advance. Each of it’s steps echoing through the mist, they were heavy and also deliberate, it’s steps was shaking the very ground beneath them.

The very faint glow of its blue eyes were cutting through the fog — calm, merciless and also ancient.

Adam’s gaze the hardened.

“Everyone, let’s get ready. I don’t think physical attacks will work on it — let’s focus more on mana-based attacks!”

Eve then nodded, as her eyes were narrowing as the first gathered along at the edge of her rapier. “I’ll take the left flank. Finn, make sure to cover me.”

“Yeah, got it.” Finn’s voice was cracking with electricity as the arcs of lightning began to dance around his body.

The Knight then lifted its sword and then pointed it directly at them. Its voice then echoed, it was low and distorted, it was almost like the whispers of a thousand souls:

“Leave… or you shall perish…”

“Yeah not happening bub,” Adam replied instantly, his voice was cold.

He then drew his sword, violet mana was flaring to light all around him, it was bending the air and also distorting the space nearby him.

Then the hum of his blade began to deepen, resonating with the dungeons mana.

Then — the Knight began to move.

That’s when the Knight began to charge forward with almost impossible speed, it was dragging its greatsword along the ground itself.

Sparks and also black fire were erupting with every stride.

That’s when Drake intercepted it, wind mana was swirling violently around his body.

“Let’s go! Wind Wall!”

That’s when a compressed barrier of rotating air started to form between him and the Knight itself.

But the dark blade of the monster just easily cleaved through it almost effortlessly, it shattered the wind like glass and it hurled Drake backward.

“Damn it, it’s strong—!” Drake grunted, slamming straight into a tree before quickly recovering himself.

But before the Knight could follow up it’s attack, that’s when Duke decided to step in, he then thrusted his band forward.

“Radiant Stream!!”

That’s when a beam of light began to surge from his palm, it collided with the Knight’s armor.

The flames around it dimmed ever so slightly, the shadows around it also flickering — but it wasn’t even close from enough.

“That bastard! It’s draining all the mana!” Duke shouted.

“That seems like Dark-fire absorption,” Eve muttered. “We will have to overload it from it’s current capacity.”

“Then let’s just hit it together,” Finn said, lightning was surging through his body as he vanished in a quick blur.

He then reappeared just above the ghostly Knight, his sword raised high.

“Burst of Thunder!”

Lightning then exploded in a downward pillar of light — the impact was briefly forcing the monster to one knee.

Adam decided to seize the moment of it’s vulnerability.

“Eve, do it now!”

“Yeah, I’m on it.”

Even started to spin her rapier, channeling both ice and wind mana.

“Frozen Tempest!”

That’s when a vortex of icy wind started to erupt around the monster, trapping it inside a storm of first and also slicing gusts.

The Knight struggled to move, it’s flames were flickering violently as it was fighting to resist the freezing.

Finn dropped besides Adam, his breathing was heavy.

“Did that work?”

Adam’s was still fixed in the storm. “No. Not yet… ” He muttered.

Then a moment later, a surge of black fire then erupted from the center of the storm, it was tearing through the frost and also the wind like it was a sheet of paper.

That’s when the Knight emerged once again — scorched, but also unyielding.

It’s armor was cracking, revealing only a pulsing core of dark flames that was beneath its chest.

The Knight raised its sword once more — but this time it was going towards Eve, aiming directly at her.

“Eve! Watch out!” Duke shouted at her.

The Knight then swung its sword.

That’s when Adam’s body moved before he could even think.

He reappeared right in front of her, space was warping in a single flash like he teleported — his sword then intercepted the blow from the attack.

CLANG!!

The impact from the strike sent shockwaves across the whole clearing, it forced both of them back by several meters.

However Adam hands didn’t tremble as he reinforced them with draconic scales shielding himself from the impact, violet mana sparks were flickering all around his body.

“Tch… even after all the attacks we landed in it, It’s still this strong.”

The ghostly like Knight raised its sword once again, but this time it was coated in a black flame — the ground beneath it was now turning molten.

Finn appeared besides Adam’s frame, lightning was still coursing violently through the sword he held.

“I’ll be the distraction—but get ready to counter!”

Before Adam could even respond, Finn started to dash forward, lightning was flashing with every movement he made.

He struck the Knight again and again, each of his swings was precise and filled with mana.

But the Knight held on, parrying each and every strike flawlessly, it was countering with brutal efficiency.

The Finn made a wrong move — and the dark sword slashed across his Chest.

Sparks and blood flew around the air.

Finn gritted his teeth, sliding back clutching his wound.

Duke instantly reacted from his side, summoning a radiant light over Finn, it glowed above him healing his wound.

“Hang in there Finn, were going to end this bastard soon.”

That’s when the Knight turned it’s gaze towards Duke and it then extended its free hand.

A dark sphere was forming on its palm, it was radiating with fire and dark mana.

“Darkness Nova…”

The orb then erupted forward, and it was consuming everything in its path.

Adam’s eyes were wide. “Get down, everyone!”

He then slammed his sword into the ground — as space mana ripped outward creating a wide dome.

That’s when the explosion hit the barrier with immense force that shook the earth.

Flames were flickering at the edges of the barrier, threatening to tear it apart but the barrier held on.

The explosion finally died down. And the dome started to dissipate, revealing the scene before them. The ground was scorched and there was a crater where the blast hit.

Even then stepped forward, frost was gathering around her form once more. “We can’t keep defending. If I freeze it again, Adam. Can you hit it’s core directly?”

Adam’s eye started to flicker to the glowing spot on it’s chest. “Yeah but I’ll need an opening this strike.”

Drake the smirked, wiping some dirt from his mouth. “Then I’ll give you one.”

But before anyone cold stop him from move, he charged forward, wind mana was bursting violently around his greatsword.

“Tempest Slash!”

He swing the sword downward with everything he had.

Boom!

The impact created a massive gust of wind that pushed the monster back, it’s flames were dimming from the pressure of the wind.

“Eve, Now!”

Even started to leap forward, her body was glowing with icy-blue light.

“Frozen Domain!”

With a single thrust of her rapier, it was elegant and lethal, it pierced through the flames, freezing the Knight while it was in mid-motion

It’s body was now locked in place, and ice was crawling rapidly across its armor.

Adam exhaled, his yellow golden eyes glowing. He the raised his sword – mana was bending around him.

“Spatial Server.”

He made a horizontal slash that cut through the air, it was quiet but absolute.

Space itself was splitting for an instant.

The violet line of light passed straight through the monsters chest, slicing through its core.

For moment, there was silence.

The it’s black flames flickered out, and the Knight’s body started to disintegrate into ash and shadow.

Its oppressive aura vanished, leaving only silence.

Everyone was standing still, still breathing heavily.

Duke broke the silence. “Damn that was rough.”

Drake laughed weakly. “Yeah that was a tough battle.”

Even just sheathed her rapier, exhaling. “Everyone you fought well.”

Finn just glanced to Adam, his lightning was dimming but his expression was thoughtful. “That technique, you didn’t have that before.”

Adam just smiled faintly, wiping his sword clean. “I’m still figuring my affinity out.”

The quiet silence of forest came as they all took a break because from now on, only the boss awaited at the end of the dungeon.
