Zachary Preston grabbed her hand. “That’s enough! Vera didn’t come crying to me. You’ve done so many disgraceful things on your own. Do you have any idea how many people in this compound can’t stand to watch you anymore?”

He finished and looked her in the eye. “Do you know what Vera said to me? She said, ’Dad, please don’t fight with Mom!’ She wants our family to be happy and harmonious. I just don’t understand why you can’t accept a daughter as sweet and sensible as Vera!”
