“Who else could possibly be my granddaughter-in-law?” Master Nathan said irritably. “Or what, do you think I’m so bored that I came all the way down here just for fun?”

Principal Gage said hastily, “Of course not. I was just… surprised.”

He was reeling with shock. The Kane family might be wealthy, but compared to the Nathan family, the difference was night and day. He never would have imagined that Vera Xavier had not only saved Master Nathan’s life but also earned his approval.

He felt this was a major development and decided he had to check with Zachary Preston about it soon.

Master Nathan huffed. “I’m entrusting my granddaughter-in-law to your care while she’s in high school. If you dare let her be wronged in the slightest, I’ll have your hide.”

Principal Gage hastily stammered his agreement.
