Vera Xavier put a hand to her forehead. Nathaniel Nathan continued, “Vera Xavier, there’s one thing I must emphasize: You are my wife! I can ask you to fulfill your wifely duties at any time.”

Vera Xavier decided to throw caution to the wind. She wrapped her arms around his neck, gave him a quick kiss on the lips, and said coaxingly, “Nathaniel, after you leave, I’ll think of you a thousand times a day! You have to think of me at least once, too. And while you’re on your mission, you’re not allowed to look at other pretty women. And more importantly, you’re not allowed to act like a hooligan with that serious face of yours in front of them!”
