Chapter 1: My Waifu is Real!?

I was sleeping deeply, very tired after a night of poor sleep. I had a good reason to be like that. Sometimes in life, a man needs to make certain sacrifices for the greater good.

Yesterday, I dedicated all my waking moments to reading a novel called “SSS-Class Ragnarok Legend” (SCRL for short). That book has captivated me since the first time I put my eyes on it.

My best and only friend, Hugo, has recommended this webnovel to me for a long time, but in spite of his relentless efforts I ignored my long-time friend and his recommendation completely.

He often said “This is your kind of jam.” or “You’ll like the main heroine. I’m sure of that.” with a smug face. But I needed to be careful with him.

I have known him for quite a while, since we were children, so I can say that he is a nice guy, but he is also the type of bastard that would troll you into watching Boku No P*co and laugh at you. That is funny when it happens with other people, but not funny at all when it happens to you. So, because of his own nature, I was always on guard against his suggestions.

After a long time of him trying to get inside my head, being insistent as hell, I gave up and decided to finally give this Ragnarok Legend a chance. But just a small one.

I was staring at the book cover on the website and I was thinking ’I don’t believe that this shit will be any good. I’ll just read one Chapter, and this will be your only chance.’ And this goddamn book made me bite my tongue. Yeah, I got hooked, becoming completely addicted to the story that I neglected for so long.

It wasn’t a troll recommendation, it was as good as Hugo said to me.

The plot, the characters… It has been a while since one story connected with me this way. Maybe this is what they call love at first sight.

Speaking of which, I must say that the author is a man of culture, with a good taste to write the heroines, especially the first one to be presented, Sarah Lockhart. She’s the best girl and became my favorite for life.

But something didn’t sit right during my reading. What the fuck is wrong with the protagonist? Why should he be written like a coward that avoids going too far with the girls, even though they all craved him so much?

I know that a lot of stories are like that, but the MC acting like this didn’t match the world of this story, or his older age. In the end he didn’t end up with any of the girls.

For the girls’ intentions to be more assertive, they would need to put a neon sign on their foreheads that says “Eat my puss!”

Author, why? Why would you make me waste so much time if in the end you wouldn’t do shit about it?

While I was reading, I couldn’t stop thinking ’If I were the MC, I would fuck the women in the first opportunity that I had and I would make my harem.’

I’m not joking! There is a specific girl that was gushing over the protagonist, but the man just thought about saving the world from some grand calamity.

But why does one thing necessarily exclude the other? Why can he save that God-forsaken world and have his fun with the beautiful women that he pleases?

Despite that, I was really enjoying the book. But a dark cloud hovered over my thoughts, wanting to destroy my fun. And it was getting closer by the minute.

Soon there would be an adaptation animating SCRL, so more people could discover the title’s existence. And it was really close.

For most people, that would be a good thing, right? Finally, your beloved book would be animated, bringing all its characters and world to life.

But for me, that would come with a problem. Like a trojan horse, this gift would bring something bad hidden within.

And that problem is what you call spoiler. I freaking hate spoilers. And I’m sure, damn pretty sure, that I would see some of them on the internet when the anime finally comes out, in the form of a clickbait Y*utube thumbnail.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a title on the red website spoiler me about the end of the story.

Of course I wouldn’t be waiting until then for that. My reading experience would be destroyed over some clicks.

So I did the most rational thing that any unemployed college student would do in a situation like this. I rushed what was left of the book in one afternoon.

This way, I solved my problem, making myself immune against any y*utuber. And the best of all, it was worth it. SCRL is one of the best stories that I have read.

But perhaps I may have exaggerated, and that’s why I was so tired. After a lot of hours reading, I started to feel a headache and went to sleep.

And now it seems that I’ll have to face the consequences of my own actions. Oooorrrrrr I could simply go by the easiest path.

’You know what? Skipping one class won’t destroy my future, so I will miss university today!’ I thought while following the drowsy sensation in my body.

’Wait a moment. Now that I think about it, I believe that today would be the last class before a test.’ This thought crossed my mind, but I was still asleep. I never had difficulty with grades, so I allowed myself to be lazy at least this time.

And besides, if I go to class completely worn out, I would pay attention to anything the teacher says. I would probably sleep between the lessons, just to be scolded in return. What’s the point then? I will just ask Hugo to lend his notes, so everything should be fine.

“Hey Rick, wake up.” A feminine voice started to call for someone that I didn’t know next to me. I didn’t recognize the voice’s owner either, but I could tell that she had a caring tone.

’That’s odd, I live alone. I wonder if I left the TV on,’ I thought.

“Hey, wake up. I’m going to get mad.” The voice didn’t seem to want to give up, and it got closer to me.

’Hey, could someone kick this Rick guy out of bed so I can sleep in peace?’ I was starting to feel bad for this girl, having to take care of someone so hopeless that can’t even get out of bed alone.

That is not my name, so this voice isn’t for me. No one lived with me and I didn’t have a girlfriend to do this kind of thing. Curse you, Rick. Die. If I had a girl to take me out of bed, I would pull her so we would skip classes together.

The feminine voice stopped to call, but for some reason I started to feel someone’s breath close to my face. But it wasn’t something unpleasant, on the contrary, it was accompanied by a graceful smell. So I didn’t feel any reason to open my eyes.

It was then that I started to feel something poking my face. At the beginning it seemed that her finger was testing the texture of my cheek, but then she started to enjoy it, therefore poking more frequently.

After that I could feel her thin fingers carefully pinching my cheek and, not so carefully, pulling my skin.

“Hey, stop that! I won’t go to uni today!” I said to whoever was trying to interrupt my sleep, while I wrapped myself with the blanket.

“What are you talking about, Rick? We have work to do. Leo is waiting for us,” said the girl trying to pull the blanket out of my hand. The battle between us over it was like a tug of war.

“Hey, you are trying to wake up the wrong person! My name isn’t Rick!” I said, still sleepy. “And how did you enter my house? I will call the police!”

At that exact moment, the piece of fabric slipped through my hands. Now my eyes were exposed to the sunlight, and the very first thing that I saw was the girl that I was fighting against, trying to wake me up. I couldn’t believe who was before me.

“Enough with this bull! Your name is Rick. And what is this ’uni’ thing? Are you still dreaming? You’re an adventurer! ADVENTURER!”

The woman in front of me was mad at me, standing up with her eyes closed and arms crossed. It was kind of cute though. Even angry she still said “And I’m your childhood friend, your idiot. Geez, I should just leave you here and go to the dungeon by myself.”

I was stunned. My heart was bumping fast in my chest, and words just escaped my mind. My mouth involuntarily mumbled “Sarah.”

“It looks like you’re finally waking up,” she said, but the girl was still with an annoyed expression.

I was staring at her, completely amazed because of her beauty. The girl was in her early twenties, her silky red hair was locked in a ponytail and her eyes were the color of the bright blue sky.

Her feminine body was athletic, yet perfectly shaped by her curves. Her breasts were full and accentuated by the sleeveless black outfit she wore.

She had a slim waist and wore short brown shorts, and her thighs looked thick, tightly hugged by the tights she wore.

“Stop acting in such an absurd way, and get up already,” she said this to me, even though her own existence is absurd.

I recognize this girl, although I never saw her in real life. Only in promo art.Her name was Sarah Lockhart, she was the main heroine of “SSS-Class Ragnarok Legend”, and also my favorite female character.
