“Holy Light!” I called out, using the skill Alicia had been about to cast.

Derug made a mistake. He was so enraged at Justine—because she had used Water Prison and laughed at his height—that he forgot he should have neutralized me, the one who could also use Holy skills. And now the monster would pay the price for that mistake.

Divine light radiated through the cave, illuminating it as if it were the sun itself. The light blinded Derug, forcing him to release Alicia’s neck. The demon was now temporarily stunned by the powerful ray of light.

“Let’s go, Sarah!”

“You didn’t even need to say it,” Sarah replied, and soon after, we said in unison, “Flash Thrasher!”

With a boost in agility, we rushed at Derug, unleashing rapid attacks against him. We both had the same idea, even without communicating. We needed to neutralize his main source of damage first, and his four muscular arms seemed like the perfect target.

The two of us managed to cut off Derug’s arms—each of us severing two from either side of his body. Then we passed through him, and with a leap, the demon moved away from us, putting several meters between us. The fallen lantern on the ground illuminated him before our eyes.

“Alicia,” I turned to the blonde girl, placing myself between her and Derug, “please treat Justine’s wounds. I’m counting on you.”

“Alright,” Alicia said, her voice still hoarse but determined.

After I saw Alicia run toward Justine and begin applying her magic to the unconscious girl, I turned back to Derug. I had never been this furious—neither in this life nor in my past life. And the source of the fury building inside me was the monster in front of me.

“Hehehe, your face looks pretty scary right now, boy,” Derug said, laughing at me.

“Shut up! Nothing you say will let you escape punishment.”

“Is that so, boy? We’ll see,” Derug said, and then he hunched his body.

His body trembled as if he were exerting himself. The scene was just as strange as the way this monster had obtained his form, but when I saw dark masses forming where his arms had been cut off, I understood.

Sarah stared at him, wide-eyed, and said, “Regeneration!”
