Chapter 97: The Key To Our Victory

When we arrived at the inn, I gathered all the girls in the room. We told the two who had stayed behind at the inn what had happened during our little expedition.

“If Rick almost died, why is he still smiling?” Diane asked.

“It’s because today’s defeat will lead to our victory tomorrow,” I said confidently.

“Rick, there’s nothing wrong with being confident,” Erina said with a hesitant expression, “but your confidence needs to have some basis in reality. How exactly do you plan to defeat an army of those monsters?”

“I’m glad you asked, Erina.” I then addressed the five girls in the room. “I ask you this: what are the biggest problems in this mission of ours?”

Sarah raised her hand like a student in a classroom. “I would say the first problem is the mana cost of the mission. We don’t have mana potions to replenish ourselves during battle, and the only way to recover from what you said would be leveling up. But you also said it becomes harder as we defeat more monsters. Isn’t that right?”

“Close, but no cigar,” I said playfully to her.

Justine adjusted her glasses and replied, “I believe the other problem is Dark Veil. With a power like that, our trump card was completely neutralized.”

“Winner, winner, chicken dinner. You are right, Justine. Considering all these conditions, we are at a disadvantage in that place. But there is a way to reach victory.”

“How come?” Diane asked me.

I picked up a jar from the room and held it up for them to see. “The key to our victory is right here!”

The girls looked inside the jar, only to see their own reflections. Sarah said, disappointed, “That’s just water. How is that supposed to help us defeat the Ghosts?”

I laughed at Sarah’s words. “You’re right, Sarah. This jar contains nothing but plain, ordinary water. Maybe it just needs a little help from our Saintess. Alicia, can you help me here?”

“Yes!” Alicia approached me and placed both of her hands on top of the jar. The young girl closed her eyes and called upon her new skill in a calm voice, “Holy Blessing.”

The water in the jar then shone with a golden light. Looking closely, it seemed as if the holy light had fused with the water itself. The warmth it emitted was gentle and comforting—just like Alicia.

When Alicia’s skill ended, the water looked clearer than before, as if it had come from a crystal-clear spring rather than the inn’s well.

“It is—” Justine understood as soon as she saw the water’s quality. Being a Mage, she had probably come into contact with it before.

“Exactly, Holy Water,” I said proudly.

As an apprentice of an Alchemist, I remembered coming into contact with Holy Water, although judging by its appearance, what Alicia had produced seemed far above average.

In this world, Holy Water was simply blessed water, but just like in the RPGs from my old world, it was extremely lethal against Ghosts and other creatures of darkness. With enough Holy Water, we wouldn’t need to spend a single point of mana against the spirits. But that wasn’t all.

“There’s also something else I’d like to show you,” I said to the girls as I grabbed my sword and pulled it out of its sheath.

Alicia placed her hands on top of my blade and pronounced her skill once more, “Holy Blessing.”

My sword reacted at once. The steel shimmered with a clear, radiant light.

“It’s beautiful!” Sarah said in amazement.

“She can affect weapons too?!” Justine asked, surprised by the extent of Alicia’s power.

“Only temporarily. The divine power fades after a while.” And just as I said, after a few minutes the light on my sword began to dim until it returned to normal.

“But even so, weapons blessed with Holy Blessing can eliminate the Ghosts.” I smiled at Sarah, believing she would understand what I meant.

“That means we don’t need to spend any mana to fight,” Sarah said, dumbfounded, and I responded with a nod.

“Hoorayyy!!” Sarah screamed in excitement. She then wrapped her arms around Alicia and said, “Good job, Alicia! With this, our path to victory is clear. Isn’t that right, Rick?”

“Not yet,” I said.

“Eh? But we already have a way to— Ah, right. Dark Veil,” Sarah said, her initial excitement fading instantly.

“Yes, we still need to neutralize Derug and his Dark Veil. Fortunately, I’ve also planned a countermeasure against it,” I said as if it were nothing special.

“W-What?” Sarah became agitated after hearing that. “H-How— What’s your plan?!”

“Then all that’s left is for us to make our preparations for tomorrow’s expedition.”

After saying that, without another word, I started taking off my shirt. When I was about to remove my pants, Diane let out a sharp scream.

“EEEEEEEEH?! Rick, what are you doing?” the Assassin asked nervously.

“Eh? I’m making my preparations. How else am I supposed to use my Valkyries’ skills if I don’t have sex with them?”

I finished taking off my pants and my shaft sprang free, already somewhat stiff in anticipation. I could see my Valkyries, Erina, and even the embarrassed Diane staring at it.

It had been a day since I had been with anyone other than Sarah, and I could sense the arousal of the girls whose virginity I had taken.

“So, shall we begin?”
