Those being dragged away cried out, “King!”

Eli couldn’t be bothered to listen to their explanations. A king didn’t need evidence to kill; a single utterance of “I suspect you” was enough.

Eli finished speaking and pointed at two priests of God, “You are of the royal family. I don’t want to investigate whether it was one of you two who let her go, but now I’m giving you both a chance.”

“The person escaped from your hands, so you will go and bring her back. Otherwise, your family and children will die along with you.”

The two priests of God trembled, “King, we will surely bring her back.”

A minister stepped forward to console Eli, “King, she’s just a woman. If she runs, let her run. We can just select another person from the Xilong family.”
