However Aiden wasn’t the only person with the idea to stop the meteorite.

Within the battlefield, Katherine exchanged glances with her sister, Selene who she stood close to.

They nodded at each other and at that point, both their Qi flared up into this overflowing bluish aura around them.

With that, they both shot into the air, and the ground beneath them burst with a sharp shockwave from the sheer force of their takeoff.

Katherine reached the meteorite first and pressed both hands against it, murmuring under her breath as her strength magic coursed through her arms.

The flames around the meteorite scorched her palms, but she ignored the pain. With a roar and a surge of supernatural strength, she propelled herself higher, driving the massive rock farther from the army below.

Then Katherine released her hold, and Selene soared past her to finish the job. She drew her red katana in one swift motion and slashed once.

The Asuras, swordsmen, and martial artists of Zahka were not idle either. The Supreme Asura had such immense Qi pressure that the air around him seemed to distort. Any debris that neared was deflected aside by that invisible force without him lifting a finger.

The swordsmen swung their blades, cutting the falling rocks into smaller fragments, while the martial artists met the debris with their fists, shattering each piece that came within reach.

Around the same time that Katherine and Selene had flown up to confront the meteor, Captain Azam arrived at the palace. He gently set the Princess down in the throne room, where Ursula was already waiting.

Azam gave her a brief nod before vanishing again in a burst of speed, racing back toward the front gates to join the other Captains. His Velocity Magic made him the fastest man in all of Dragonhold.

Inside the throne room stood Queen Helena and Prince Lucas. They had remained there the entire time. Lucas rushed to his sister’s side, checking if she was unharmed, while Helena hurried after him.

Moments later, Jarius flew in through one of the tall windows, landing beside his family.

“We begin immediately,” Ursula said, summoning a glowing blue magic circle beneath them.

Jarius stepped back, careful not to be caught within the teleportation spell she was preparing.

“Come with us, Father,” Lysandra pleaded.

“I can’t, my child,” Jarius replied softly. “I won’t abandon my mages while they fight for this kingdom.”

Helena’s voice trembled as tears welled in her eyes. “Come back to me, Jarius.”

He stepped forward, pressed a kiss to her forehead, and whispered, “Take care of our children.” Then he turned to Ursula and gave a firm nod.

“Mass Stellar Port!” Ursula commanded. In a flash of blue light, Lysandra, Lucas, and Helena vanished like fading stars.

A single tear rolled down Jarius’s cheek. Then he turned toward the great doors of the throne room, with his expression now hardened. “Let’s finish this.”

“Yes, Your Grace,” Ursula answered.

Aiden stood at the center of it all. At first, he’d wanted to handle the meteorite himself, until he saw the captain Katherine, and her sister flying toward it.

After a moment of observation, he realized they had it under control, and shifted his focus back to the broader situation.

Before him stood Captain Azam, who just returned from within the city, the other Captains, and the Grand Magus of Dragonhold. They were lined up in front of the gates, ready to prevent anyone from getting through.

Atop the walls, were soldiers of dragonhold with their bows drawn and arrows nocked, waiting for Baran’s command to rain them down on Oberon’s forces.

Through his activated Dragon’s Sight, he could see that behind the walls of Dragonhold; were other mages of the kingdom stationed at different points in city.

Some were at the top of ceilings, some at hidden corners, each ready to act the moment Oberon’s army breached the gates.

His vision extended further, all the way to the Wyvern’s keep, where he saw in the palace that Ursula had just completed the casting of a spell, that sent the rest of the royal family away.

Behind him, was Oberon, his captains, and the rest of the army he commanded. The meteorite had just been destroyed by Katherine and Selene and the rest of the falling debris were being taken care of by other mages.

And now they were all beginning to proceed towards Dragonhold at full charge.

At first, there was the brief thought to use the Time Stop Skill he had gotten from Cronyssia, but it was only going to stop the problem temporarily or atleast till he returned the flow of time. Moreover it felt too important to be used right now.

And so he decided to go with this.

Lucidbane materialized in his right hand, its edge gleaming faintly as he tightened his grip. With a swift motion, Aiden swung the blade in a clean vertical arc.

He infused the strike with his Space Authority: Severance, and the slash carved through space itself, extending two kilometers outward to his right.

The cut wasn’t just spatial; it also split the ground beneath in the same perfect line of symmetry.

Then, turning to his left, Aiden repeated the motion, another vertical slash, identical in form, rending space open just as deeply.

Aiden had just cleaved the space between Oberon’s side of the field and Dragonhold’s. That meant the only entrance for Oberon’s army was the narrow path where he stood

He stepped back into Dragonhold’s territory, and traced a line in the air with the tip of his fingers, making another spatial cut at the narrow entrance.

He didn’t swing his blade this time, as he didn’t want to have a long slash that affected Oberon’s advancing forces.

That middle point was the most dangerous. Any attempt to pass from the sides would be futile, as if an invisible barrier repelled them. But anyone trying to squeeze through the center would meet a spatial cut that would split them in half the instant their bodies made contact with it.

Aiden had effectively sealed off the battlefield, using a crude but devastating method to divide space itself.
