Chapter 173: The Kingdom Of Yul’thera

Aiden’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the spear pointed toward him. Then this scowl spread across his face before he spoke. “Humans and their silly weapons,” he said with a tone so condescending.

“Do you really think you could harm me with a piece of metal?”

Before anyone could react, he raised one hand and the Force supplementary spell was casted instantly, lifting both the woman and her horse into the air with an invisible telekinetic grip that wrapped around them.

He flicked his wrist and sent them flying backward through the air until they crashed into the ground with a heavy thud that sent dust and dirt exploding outward.

Laela gasped in shock and her hand flew to her mouth while Arianna’s eyes widened in surprise at the sudden violence.

The other Amazons immediately spurred their horses forward and closed in with their weapons stretched out toward Aiden and his group, with a determined and angered look on their faces.

Aiden’s expression didn’t change and with a single swipe of his hand he cast a gravity magic spell that slammed into all of them at once, sending soldiers and horses alike flying backward through the air in a chaotic tangle before crashing down.

This was the gravity magic: repel spell copied from Lysandra during their contest battle.

Arianna turned back abruptly and grabbed Aiden’s arm. “Hold on!” she said urgently. “There’s no need to be violent, we’re not here to fight them!”

The women were already getting back to their feet and their faces looked ready for a fight as they reached for their weapons again, but Arianna stepped forward quickly and raised both her hands toward them in a gesture of peace.

“Please, hold on,” she called out. “We mean no violence, we’re just passing through!”

Laela moved to stand in front of Aiden and placed both hands on his chest while looking up at him with concern in her eyes. “Please,” she said quietly. “Restrain yourself, this isn’t helping.”

The first woman who had pointed her spear at Aiden pushed herself up from the ground and walked toward Arianna with her jaw clenched and her hand still gripping her weapon. “You attack my sisters and then claim you mean no violence?” she said coldly, with her dark eyes blazing furiously. “Explain yourself before I run you through where you stand.”

Arianna kept her hands raised and met the woman’s gaze steadily.

“We’re sorry for what just happened,” she said quickly. “My companion acted rashly and we apologize, but please understand we’re simply trying to pass through Yul’thera and continue our journey to the next continent. We have no quarrel with you or your people.”

The woman’s expression remained hard but she didn’t advance further and after a moment she lowered her spear slightly. “You cross our borders without permission and attack my soldiers,” she said. “Give me one reason why I shouldn’t have you all arrested or worse.”

“Because we’re not your enemies,” Arianna replied firmly. “We’re just travelers trying to reach Dellheim and we’ll be gone from your lands as soon as we can pass through. That’s all we want.”

The Amazon studied Arianna’s face and seemed to be weighing whether to believe her.

But just as it looked like the situation might calm down the sound of hoofbeats approached rapidly from deeper in the jungle.

A horse burst through the trees at high speed with a woman riding it who wore robes of white and gold that marked her as someone of significant rank, and the moment she appeared the soldiers immediately parted ways and lowered their weapons in respect.

The woman dismounted and walked forward with her eyes fixed on Aiden. “You must be Aiden,” she said calmly.

The moment the soldiers heard the name Aiden they glanced at each other and suddenly the hostility vanished from their expressions almost instantly.

That was the mage who single-handedly fought the forces of Dragonhold? They wondered.

She turned to the general who had pointed the spear. “General Kyra, stand down.”

Kyra stepped back and lowered her weapon completely while the other soldiers did the same.

The woman in white and gold turned back to Aiden and inclined her head slightly. “I am High Priestess Selara,” she said. “I apologize for how General Kyra and her soldiers reacted to your presence. They were only doing their duty to protect our borders but I understand that misunderstandings can happen quickly.”

Laela having succeeded in calming Aiden, took a step to the side.

Aiden’s expression remained neutral as he crossed his arms, “We just need to pass through Yul’thera and head over to Dellheim,” he said flatly. “That’s all.”

Selara’s eyes widened slightly and surprise flickered across her face. “Dellheim?” she repeated. “If you don’t mind me asking, why would you want to go to that forsaken place?”

“That’s our business to deal with,” Aiden replied curtly.

Selara studied him for a moment before nodding slowly. “I see,” she said. “Regardless of your reasons, I would like to extend an invitation for you and your companions to enter Yul’thera properly. We can provide you with rest and provisions before you continue your journey.”

She gestured toward her horse and mounted it again while the soldiers took hold of their horses by the ropes. “Please, walk with me,” Selara said. “It would be an honor to host you.”

Aiden glanced at Laela and Arianna who both nodded slightly and then he looked back at the High Priestess and gave a single nod of agreement.

They walked together deeper into the jungle with the soldiers flanking them on either side until they approached what appeared to be empty air, but as Selara rode forward, the space shook slightly and an invisible veil parted to reveal the kingdom beyond.

These left surprised expressions on Laela and Arianna’s face.

Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly as he studied the barrier.

It felt similar in concept to the Limbo Dome but fundamentally different still, because this one could still be interacted with from both sides rather than creating a separate space.

As they stepped through the veil, the full scope of Yul’thera opened before them and Aiden took in the sight and observed it all quietly.

The kingdom was built among massive trees with walkways and bridges connecting buildings that seemed to grow naturally from the trunks and branches, and everywhere he looked there were women moving through the settlement going about their daily tasks.

The women of Yul’thera were striking and possessed such rare beauty.

A good number of them had strong athletic builds and features that ranged from sharp and fierce to soft and elegant.

Most of them wore light, revealing clothes. Thin fabrics and leather straps that left their arms and legs bare.

Their outfits also showed their curves, cleavages and nipples, without any hint of modesty, and Aiden couldn’t help but notice how alluring they looked.

What struck him most was the complete absence of men and as they walked through the streets every single person they passed was a grown woman, not a single male anywhere in sight.
