He naturally expected some sort of welcoming from them.

Lilith shifted slightly against him, propping herself up on one elbow so she could meet his gaze.

“They’re in some dimension,” she replied.

She paused, then added with a faint smile, “I’d be glad to take you to them whenever you wish.”

Samael nodded thoughtfully but said nothing more on the matter.

Lilith then stood from the bed and stretched, completely unbothered by her stark nakedness as she moved toward where her robes had been discarded earlier.

But before she could reach them, footsteps echoed from the entrance to the chamber.

Thera appeared in the doorway, only to immediately turn her face away the moment she saw her mother standing there completely naked and Samael lying half-naked beneath the sheets.

Thera raised one hand to shield her eyes and spoke with exasperation in her voice.

“Mother, perhaps consider closing the doors or being more discreet.”

She lowered her hand slightly and glanced around the room with a conflicted expression before adding:

“To think this used to be the All-Father’s chambers.”

Lilith had been smiling up until that last comment which made her expression shift instantly.

“Get on with why you’re here,” Lilith said curtly.

Thera straightened up and composed herself before speaking.

“A council meeting of gods was called,” she began, then gave Samael a brief look before adding carefully, “to discuss certain concerns.”

Lilith tilted her head in confusion. “Council meeting?” she repeated.

Thera nodded. “Oh, right—you weren’t here when such a thing was implemented.”

She paused, then explained further:

“A while back, the All-Father made it so that all Archons and he were part of a council. For certain things relating to the welfare of the city and concerns among gods, it would be discussed amongst us.”

Lilith stared at her for a moment before speaking again.”Do I look like your father?”

Thera blinked in confusion, going silent as she tried to process what her mother was asking.

Lilith didn’t wait for an answer. She stepped closer to Thera with a sharp gaze.

“Those were Adam’s rules,” Lilith said coldly. “And now I’m here and in charge. I decide whatever is best for this city.”

She paused deliberately before adding:

“So whatever council was called from today becomes defunct.”

Thera’s eyes widened a bit at that.

“Mother—” she began, but Lilith cut her off immediately.

“If there’s nothing more, then leave my presence.”

Thera stood there for another moment, struggling with whether or not to argue further. But finally, she turned and walked out of the chamber with a deep frown on her face.

Lilith then turned back toward Samael who had been watching the exchange in silence and leaned back against the pillows.

Lilith walked over to him slowly, with her earlier coldness melting away as she stopped beside the bed and looked down at him.

“There’s someone I want to show you,” she said.

Samael’s brow arched slightly in curiosity, but he said nothing.

Not long after, Lilith and Samael were at the gates of Asahel’s isolated place of residence.

Despite Lilith asking him several times to move into the main city now that she ruled Eden, Asahel had chosen to remain here in solitude.

The large gates opened up as if anticipating their arrival, and walked through together, moving down a long corridor until they reached an open veranda.

And there, standing alone with his back to them, was Asahel. Though he turned almost immediately.

“Mother,” Asahel said. “You’ve come.”

Lilith smiled then gestured toward Samael beside her. “There’s someone I want you to meet,” she said gently.

For a brief moment, neither of them spoke.

Even before Lilith said anything, Samael could tell just by looking at him that there was a connection between them.

Lilith then broke the silence.

“Samael,” she began, turning toward him. “This is your son.”

She paused briefly before adding:

“Without his help, I wouldn’t have been able to get you out.”

Samael’s expression didn’t change immediately. He continued staring at Asahel for another minute before finally speaking.

“What is your name, boy?”

Asahel replied simply:

“Mother gave me the name Asahel.”

Samael nodded at that, then said:

“That’s nice. But I, your father, will give you Isda.”

Asahel looked mildly surprised at that but said nothing in response.

Samael stepped forward then and placed one hand firmly on Asahel’s shoulder. A gesture of acknowledgment.

“I commend you,” Samael said with genuine approval in his voice.

Asahel simply nodded, and when Samael pulled his hand away and stepped back again, a faint smile crossed Asahel’s lips.

Lilith watched the exchange between father and son with a sort of satisfaction before stepping closer to Samael once more.

“Now, I’ll take you to your generals who have been waiting for you.”

Then she raised one hand as red energy gathered around her palm.

A massive red magic circle materialized in the air before them, spinning slowly as it grew larger and larger until it was wide enough for them to pass through.

Just before they entered, Samael tilted his head, signaling Isda to come with them.

They emerged through the red portal into the dimension, floating side by side as the gateway sealed shut behind them.

But the moment they crossed through, Lilith’s eyes widened in shock.

The dark cathedral that had once stood in this desolate wasteland was gone.

Or rather, it had been decimated.

What remained was nothing more than scattered rubble spread across the ground.

Samael’s gaze swept across the destruction with a frown forming on his face.

“What happened here?” he asked.

Lilith didn’t answer immediately. Her eyes scanned the area carefully as they hovered in midair.

Then she saw it.

A piece of blackened armor lying half-buried in the rubble below. She recognized it immediately.

Lilith pointed downward toward the remains without saying a word, and together they descended slowly until their feet touched the ground.

“Just as Morrigan feared,” Lilith said, almost to herself. “The vessel of the Black Dragon got to them after I undid the concealment on this dimension.”

Samael stood a few paces behind her, with his arms crossed over his chest as he stared down at the ruins with a deepening frown.

“Him,” Samael repeated, his voice cold now. “I’m disappointed that they died at his hands.”

He paused, then added:

“I fought that vessel myself using Dravion’s body, and I can confirm he was weaker than a dragon should be at that time. Even if he had grown between that period, how did all of them fall to him?”

His frown deepened further as he spoke these words with genuine displeasure evident in his tone.

Lilith stood slowly from where she had been kneeling and turned to face Samael directly.

“The vessel grows at a much more rapid rate than usual,” she explained calmly.

She paused briefly before adding:

“But you have nothing to worry about my love, because we prepared for this sort of eventuality.”

Samael’s frown eased slightly as he tilted his head in curiosity, waiting for her to continue.

Lilith raised one hand, and a red magic circle materialized in the air before her.

From within the circle, nine small vials emerged, each one filled with dark blood.

Another magic circle appeared beside the first, and from it came an assortment of small body parts, fingers, toes, horn tips, each one carefully preserved and floating gently in midair.

These were various parts taken from the demon lords themselves.

Samael’s eyes narrowed as he observed what Lilith had summoned before them.

Lilith turned toward him and explained:

“So long as I have their blood and one part of their body, which I took from each of them, I can bring them back.”

Samael said nothing, but his gaze remained fixed on the vials and body parts floating before them.

The vials and body parts began moving on their own, rearranging themselves into a careful formation.

Each vial of blood floated directly beside its corresponding body part, perfectly aligned and positioned.

Then Lilith waved her hand again, causing red blobs of energy to burst forth from her palm and strike each glass vial simultaneously, shattering them instantly.

The dark blood spilled outward from the broken containers and flowed onto the body parts below it, coating them completely in crimson liquid.

She made red magic circles form beneath each blood-soaked body part, and after that she enchanted life onto those parts.

The blood began flowing into the body parts like water being absorbed by sand. And as it did, something extraordinary began to happen.

The body parts started growing.

The finger parts extended into full hands. Toes expanded into entire feet. Horn tips regenerated into full horns that curved upward elegantly.

From those single fragments alone, entire bodies began reconstructing themselves piece by piece, growing outward until they were whole once more.

It took only minutes for the process to complete, but one by one, nine figures materialized before them, standing upright as their forms solidified completely.

Morrigan stood at the forefront, her black armor restored, and her red spiked halo floated behind her back once more as she opened her eyes slowly and took her first breath.

The moment they all fully regained consciousness and saw who stood before them, they immediately dropped to one knee in unison.

Their heads bowed in reverence as Morrigan spoke:

“My Lord.”

Samael stared down and then a smile spread across his face.
