The pack had moved on from Nyssa’s absence quickly.

The council had slowly but surely started to adapt to taking over her roles and people in the pack stopped asking when they were met with silence and stern reprimands at the mention of her name.

I should have moved on too, but something about the way she left kept a bitter taste at the back of my throat. Nos just because she left without being punished for her involvement with the rogues but also because we were left without answers.

I still didn’t know why or how she spoke to the rogues and that grated on my nerves more than I’d like to admit.

I spent the entire day after she left combing through her call logs and her home trying to figure out anything that would tie her to those bastards but there was nothing.

She was squeaky fucking clean.

A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts but before I could even answer, it creaked open and in came a familiar drawl. “You’ve been avoiding me.”

I bit back a sound of annoyance. “I’m working, Alisa.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her frown, but she didn’t back down. Instead, she crossed her arms over her chest, strutting over to my side of the table and perching at the edge, her hands pressed against the edge as she arched herself towards me.

“You’re always working,” she pouted. “Don’t you ever take a break?”

“I can’t. the pack never sleeps.”

She hummed, trailing her arms over my shoulder as she settled behind me. I made to shrug her off, but she moved, fingers digging into my shoulders, working at a knot that had built up there.

A groan left my lips and my shoulders sagged of their own accord against the chair.

I could’ve sworn I heard her giggle. “Let me help you, Henry. You’re going to overwork yourself.”

I didn’t have it in me to argue with her, I just exhaled deeply, letting my bones dissolve into puree underneath her expert fingers.

“This feels good,” I murmured. “Where did you learn?”

“Don’t worry about me,” she brushed me off. “Tell me about the work you have to do.”

It was like there was magic in her hands because my mouth opened of its own accord and I began speaking. I told her about the pack security that we were trying to restore and the lives and properties from the rogues that had to be rebuilt.

Somehow, I was smart enough to keep the parts about Nyssa to myself. It was a sure way to piss her off and I enjoyed the massage too much to risk that.

“That is a lot. You know, if you had a mate, you wouldn’t have to do so much.”

Alarm bells flashed in my head. “What are you talking about?”

She sighed, her voice dropping to an almost whisper. “When are we going to make things official, Henry? Everyone already knows that I am to be your Luna. Why don’t we have a ceremony?”

Suddenly, the massage made sense.

She was trying to butter me up to make me more agreeable to her demands. I shrugged her off harsher than I’d intended to and stood to my feet, hands crossed over my chest as I turned to her.

“Is that what this is about?” I hissed. “Is this your way of trying to make me do as you please?”

“No!” she said quickly. “I just wanted to help, I promise. I only want to make things easy for you.” She tried to step towards me but I moved out of her reach, swatting her hands away. “Henry—”

“I think you should leave now.”

She frowned, cheeks growing brighter with each passing second as her calmness quickly turned to anger. “For asking when you’ll mate with me? What the fuck, Henry?”

“I don’t want to talk about this.”

She scoffed. “You promised that we would be mated when you took my father’s offer. You know what you signed up for. Would you like me to tell him that you’re backing out? Is that what this is?”

I gritted my teeth, holding back every cruel word that was at the tip of my tongue.

The last thing I needed was for her to go running home to daddy. Her father loved her, more than anyone could love anything and he’d do exactly as she asked.

I couldn’t risk losing his support… not now.

“She’s not coming back you know,” she snapped. “She picked the King over you. She’d be a fool to return.”

Without waiting for me to respond, she muttered a few choice words under her breath and stormed off. She only made it so far before I grabbed her harshly, fingers curling around her wrist as I pulled her towards me, slamming the door shut behind her.

“I’m not playing your game, Henry,” she snapped. “Fuck off.”

“If you don’t shut the fuck up, I’ll make you.”

She rolled her eyes, a defiant smirk on her face. “Do it then.”

As if to prove her point, she went to her knees, eyes shining up at me in a challenge. I’d walked right into her honey coated trap, but there was nowhere for me to run.

With a curse, I ripped open my pants, tugging her hair back hard enough to bring pin pricks of tears to her eyes but she didn’t cower.

If anything, she opened her mouth wide in anticipation.

I shoved my cock into her mouth, grinning darkly to myself as she gagged, eyes watering.

She placed both hands on my thighs to steady herself but I slapped them away, gripping her hair firmly as I pulled out and shoved my dick back in.

“You’ll take what I give you,” I hissed out. “You’re going to stop being a fucking bitch all the time.”

A garbled sound left her lips, sounding suspiciously like my name.

I ignored her, fucking her brutally, all the while she took it like the good fucking slut she was.

Her eyes watered and when I finally came in her mouth, she swallowed every last drop.

“Next time you think about mouthing off, think about that,” I said, righting my pants. “Now get the fuck out of my office.”

I turned to leave when I heard her voice behind me. “No.”
