Chapter 231: Good Food!

This surprised the team members and then silently thanked the guild in their hearts, swearing to work harder for it! Zenno, on the other hand, smiled a bit. He had an inkling about what the young innkeeper was trying to do, and he had to say he was impressed.

Anyway, Zenno (and followed by the others) took a plate and the utensils, with Finn occasionally guiding him through the unfamiliar—but scrumptious-looking—dishes.

They couldn’t all fit in the dining table, so some ate in the living room, some in the tables and chairs outside, and some in the camping grounds. They all settled as near to the building as possible though, so they could get back as soon as possible to get more!

There were also people like Quin who lost out on seats and ended up sitting on the porch next to the door, not that he minded much. His eyes were fixed on his tray and his pupils were dilated so much.

Just the scent made him satisfied with life.

The soup was mildly nutty and earthy, with smooth richness when blended. The herbs added soothing herbal notes to each taste. It was velvety and creamy, and the spices added aromatic freshness that lingered, making people want to eat spoonful after spoonful.

Finn—who sat on the dining table— smiled at everyone before he took a sip of the soup himself. It was comforting and warm. In terms of taste, it reminded him of potato-leek soup, especially its silkiness.

He then took the bindergrain crisp and dunked it in the soup, adding a bit of change in texture, adding crunch and chewiness, which in turn added to the experience. It also controlled the savoriness and prevented people from getting tired of the taste too quickly.

Some others saw this and followed, and did it again, obviously liking the result.

“It means the adventurers are free to eat whatever is available, whenever they want, though we’d record the team’s consumption for the Elders to see. They could also request, but that’d depend on availability and the knowledge of the cook.”

“This will be upon your approval, of course.”

“SAY YES, CAPTAIN!”

Zenno was tempted to agree without thought, but since this was the guild’s money he could not be too careless.

So instead, he turned it into a reward. “Then… whoever could show me 10 new and unique cores per day could get all three meals sponsored by the guild!!”

They would keep their cores, just that they needed to prove the number of monsters they killed for the day through them.
