Chapter 328: Delivery Room Upgrade!
[Delivery Room Upgrade (Max): Includes the ability to transport living beings. Cost: 10,000,000 Hearth Points (Voucher available for use)]
Teleportation! Ohmygoodness.
“Heh…so you’re finally amazed?” A certain bear (who was chewing on something) looked amused at his expression.
“Of course. This was something super magical, and everyone had wanted to do this since they were young!” he said, very sincerely.
He knew that the system had done a lot of miraculous things. It was just that seeing things they had dreamed about since young naturally had a different impact. Which kid had not imagined teleporting at some point?
The panda looked at him arrogantly. “Well, you can try if you buy it! Tsk, tsk, be warned, it’s not for the faint of stomachs! Don’t vomit—”
Just then, a female mercenary appeared at the side and scooped him up, and then he was gone. The next thing the panda saw, he was already surrounded and offered various food, which ultimately was why the Panda didn’t take offense and never kicked them out despite the ’harassment’.
“…”
Well, anyway, Finn turned his attention back to the Delivery Room, upgrading it without another thought.
[Upgraded! Delivery Room! Level 1—> Level 2]
[Upgrade Voucher consumed!]
The delivery room, which was just as big as a gazebo, suddenly glowed, indicating a change. The staff member inside, Haurus, and a dwarf (who were gathering materials), suddenly found themselves back outside.
Passersby watched with interest, wondering what was happening. Syl and the kids appeared next to Finn, too, and he smiled mysteriously at them.
After about ten minutes, this gazebo-like structure expanded, becoming something like a two-storey pagoda instead!
“Wow…”
“What is this?”
“I’ve never seen anything like it…”
The inn had a lot of new guests, and they had never witnessed a change like this in the inn or, well, ever.
Finn and Syl, with the kids toddling behind, went to study the place. The gazebo now had two floors with high ceilings. The ground floor was for transferring items, so they went to the upper floor, which had a much more intricate array on it.
Like the one below, there was a space around the array good for about twenty people or so. The array here was slightly bigger than the one below, but he didn’t know how many a batch could transfer yet.
[Welcome to Delivery Room]
[Current Nodes: Wanderer’s Lounge, Wanderer’s Lounge Extension]
To activate it before, one had to be in front of the array and then transfer the item after paying the cost. If there were more than one person there, the next one wouldn’t see the interface until the transaction of the previous one was over.
It was still the same this time but, as the Innkeeper, he had more access.
Like, for example, he could set up the prices, the maximum number of people transferred and so on. Internally, the cost of transfer was 1 gold per person and 1000 hearth points.
For others, he set it to 10 gold per person. Don’t call him greedy, but this feature was really too good! For those people who really wanted convenience, then 10 gold was nothing.
After all, people who would frequent level 2 had already been at least in toughened rank for a while, if not already at the fortified stage. With the barrier there assistiing in their hunts, they can make 10 gold of equivalent loot in a few hours.
Soon, he found out that each batch of transfer was limited to a max of five, and they would have to pay either way. However, it seemed that if one maximized the 5 people per batch, the total cost was only 4 gold, a bit of a rebate, which was interesting.
Was it an energy-saving reward or something?
Without further ado, Finn went forward, the first to try.
…
…
By this time, the activity in the inn was intense. Similarly, even the extension was always full of people who wanted to kill more fortified level monsters!
It was common sense that the higher the level, the more difficult the enemy was to deal with. However, for monsters, this was even more so.
Fortified level people versus fortified level monsters were far more dangerous than toughened versus toughened.
The extension’s popularity was, therefore, very expected.
Speaking of which, it had to be noted that there were more and more beasts now, and it was fortunate they had the extension, otherwise there would’ve been a lot of casualties over the past few months.
Finn had long added more and more extensions here to fit the growing number of people. He added more plants, more camping areas, more extensions, and so on.
Usually, while there were some conflicts, especially when it came to loot and last kills, it had gotten a lot better after he threatened blacklisting people who kept making trouble.
Since then, things had calmed down even in the extension, so when Finn headed out of the delivery hall, only to hear an argument between two parties, he could only rub his head in annoyance.
He was still dizzy from the transfer, after all, and Pang was not joking about wanting to puke! It was literally being pulled apart like rubber and then suddenly let go like a taut string.
It would definitely take a while to get used to. Should he head back home on foot?
At this time, in the Extension, some conflicts were about to explode. Unexpectedly, it was between humans and halfkins. They seemed to be having an argument about loot.
“Mine,” the beastkin said, holding up the loot. It was the horn of a fortified-level beast. It was a rare, undamaged, curled one. Usually, this item had scratches or missing pieces, and its efficacy would be directly affected.
The price of an undamaged horn was nearly four times that of a damaged one, even if they had the same mass. He was not surprised that an argument was happening, but he’d rather they didn’t do it in his turf.
Speaking of which, the beastkin was a familiar one. It was the lion archetype they saw in the Lotus Town slums.
Looking at the side, he saw Pacco, Lenok’s son, and a small team. They were trying to calm things down.1
However, the other side was too hotheaded. It so happened that they had also been injured, cutting the fuse short
“YOU!!!” he snapped, saliva splattering all over. “DAMNED BEAST.”
“I killed the beast. Did most damage.”
Logic didn’t seem to work for the hotheaded potbelly man. “I will tell you it is ours! You barely even deserve our scraps! You should be thankful I’m giving you anything!” he yelled, showing damaged leather at the side.
The lion guy frowned, glaring at him, but his body language was screaming that he was about to attack.
It was here that Finn finally decided to step forward.
“Hey, now,” he said. “Let’s all talk calmly. Don’t you know 90% of arguments originate from tone of voice?”
His voice, to make his point, was calm and gentle. It did not calm the people involved.
“Who are you??” the man spat again, and Finn’s eyes twitched, disgustedly wiping his arm that was splattered.
Before he could say anything else, though, he heard a commotion behind him. People started pouring out of the cave, and the number was definitely way beyond the number of people there before.
Lenok and the others were very confused.
And then they flinched when these people rushed to the side, vomiting at the same time, and they had no idea what to make of it!
What in the world???
